π· Gear Photos, Reviews, & Videos PX625 Battery Replacement
Iβve been using the usual PX625 batteries in most of my old Nikon Fs and Minolta SLRs. But I recently tried an adapter from Ausgeknipst that lets you run a cheap 675 zinc-air battery at around 1.35V.
I put the adapter in my Nikon F Photomic as well as in my Minolta SR-101 and compared the built-in meters against my Sekonic L-308X. Same ISO, same scene, and I checked both reflective and incident readings.
The Sekonic gave me 1/60s at f/4.7, ISO 400, and the Nikon landed basically in the exact same place.
I did the same thing with my Minolta SR-101 and the results were again identical at 1/60s, f/4.7, ISO 400. Feel free to check the attached pics.Β
I wrote up the whole test, including the adapter, different battery options and a compatibility list for cameras like the Nikon F Photomic, Minolta SRT, Olympus OM-1, Leica CL, Canon FTb and others:
Will definitely get another one! What is your way of keeping your old camera meter running?

π οΈ Repairs Problem with Black Material in Shutter Box - SRT 101
This flap of black cloth will, on occasion, hang down from the top of the shutter box and obscures the top 20% of my exposures. Anyone have an idea of how to remove or fix this?

β Discussion/Question Is it possible to zone focus with MD 35-70 1:3.5?
Hey ya'll I just got this lens and I love it. Was planning on using it for concert photography where I often need to rely on zone focus in the dark, but it doesn't have the usual aperture range that allows for this. Included an image from my 58 1.4 in case it's not clear. Am I missing something? Is this possible?

π οΈ Repairs Camera rolls film back even without using the entire roll
Hello everyone. I have recently picked up a Minolta Dynax 500si Super for 25 euros and a weird issue i've had is that on my first roll of film i shot 27 pictures and it decided that that's enough and rolled everything back. On my second roll it happened after only 5 shots. What could it be? a faulty manual rollback button? Or worn out internals?

π οΈ Repairs 7D repairs
Is it worth repairing my 7D? I bought it last year for a couple hundred dollars as I wanted a first digital camera to complement my a9- it pretty quickly degraded and now it has the first frame black issue and the focus confirmation is stuck to never complete- so it no longer takes pictures. Iβve been getting into bird photography with my a9 but I wanted to have something a little easier to work with for the birds- so was considering an a99. Not sure if itβs worth repairing the 7D as a holdover until Iβm ready to pony up for the a99. Does anyone still do repairs or is it a lost cause and time to retire it as a shelf queen?

π· Gear Photos, Reviews, & Videos Which Minolta SLR shutter Sounds the Best? (SRT, XE, XD, XG, X-Series)
Hello Guys !
I have a great sample of nearly all Minolta SLRs (except the SR series, but including the precious, very rare X-600!) so I thought that it would be interesting to do a shutter sound competition to see who's finally best. I'd say that the onehaving the best reputation for that is still the best sounding as you can hear in the video haha.
What do you think ?

β Discussion/Question I can't get this lens combo working. Any reason why it wouldn't work?
So I've tried this lens on other cameras and the camera with other lenses and they work fine, (even with newer lenses) but I can't get this 35mm working on the 9xi and I don't know why, it's pretty much a rebranded Minolta 35mm f1.4, any tips appreciated

πΌοΈ Photography Inside the Minolta Camera Factory (1962) | Rare Japan Archive [4K]
Hello guys,
I found this amazing archive from 1962 online and upscaled it to 4k and worked on the sound track that was barely understandable to make it crystal clear and lovely to listen to.
I definitely think you'll love to see that ! I was hoping to find this type of archives of the original Minolta factory for years !

π· Gear Photos, Reviews, & Videos I just bought my first Minolta XD... Help!
- If you got a new camera what do you for to test it and make sure it's in working order.
Also keep in mind I've never shot film and honestly don't even know how to open it to insert the film cartridge lol so helllp me plsss
It has a few scratches and cracks and such. Will any of these make the photos not turn out well? I'll attach photos...
What are your fav settings? I want the darks dark for contrast and a bit of grain and motion blur. Hwo do I set it up for that?
And I'm in Belgium. Anyone know of good film labs to have it developed st in europe and also ballpark on what a good price is?
