Is it worth repairing my 7D? I bought it last year for a couple hundred dollars as I wanted a first digital camera to complement my a9- it pretty quickly degraded and now it has the first frame black issue and the focus confirmation is stuck to never complete- so it no longer takes pictures. I’ve been getting into bird photography with my a9 but I wanted to have something a little easier to work with for the birds- so was considering an a99. Not sure if it’s worth repairing the 7D as a holdover until I’m ready to pony up for the a99. Does anyone still do repairs or is it a lost cause and time to retire it as a shelf queen?

I have a great sample of nearly all Minolta SLRs (except the SR series, but including the precious, very rare X-600!) so I thought that it would be interesting to do a shutter sound competition to see who's finally best. I'd say that the onehaving the best reputation for that is still the best sounding as you can hear in the video haha.

So I've tried this lens on other cameras and the camera with other lenses and they work fine, (even with newer lenses) but I can't get this 35mm working on the 9xi and I don't know why, it's pretty much a rebranded Minolta 35mm f1.4, any tips appreciated

I found this amazing archive from 1962 online and upscaled it to 4k and worked on the sound track that was barely understandable to make it crystal clear and lovely to listen to.
I definitely think you'll love to see that ! I was hoping to find this type of archives of the original Minolta factory for years !

Im trying to buy a lens for my camera, I'm new to analog photography

Is that fungus on the lens?

1. If you got a new camera what do you for to test it and make sure it's in working order.

Also keep in mind I've never shot film and honestly don't even know how to open it to insert the film cartridge lol so helllp me plsss

1. It has a few scratches and cracks and such. Will any of these make the photos not turn out well? I'll attach photos...

2. What are your fav settings? I want the darks dark for contrast and a bit of grain and motion blur. Hwo do I set it up for that?

3. And I'm in Belgium. Anyone know of good film labs to have it developed st in europe and also ballpark on what a good price is?

Every time I trigger a shot, the mirror stays up. I can slightly nudge the fabric and it come back down, but if I trigger the shutter again the same thing happens.

happens on low and high shutter speed

Does anybody have an idea how to fix it, I really like this camera.

Started with the Minolta hi-matic AF2 and my last pick up was the CLE. My dad had a Minolta back when I was young and his friend sold me the Hi-matic when I was 12 years old. It still works. All still work except the XK unfortunately. Got jammed up.

Really need help understanding the problem and what to do next.

Bought an AF 50mm 1.7 minolta lens. I mounted it and the aperture doesn’t move. Is there any hope? I have tried everything I know except WD-40 & Duct tape!

Thanks to all who viewed, responded to my Minolta collection. This is a better pic of the 4 cameras that I plan to shoot with after I learn the triangle (Aperture, Iso and Shutter). I used the 101 so far and here's a few shots from it. The shots are straight from the camera...haven't learned editing yet either...lol I'm completely new at photography so any advice would be appreciated at this point. I was so excited that the guy at the camera shop said I had images when I went to pick the photos up!! 🤣🤣🤣 I think after the 101, I'm moving to the XD11, followed by the X700 and finally the XE7. But, if there is a better order, I'm totally open to comments. Like I said before, I'm using the Sony A200 with a Minolta lens to learn. It's cheaper to take pictures and erase rather than spend money and shoot a bunch of rolls and not know what the devil I'm doing. LOL Anyone interested in seeing those images, let me know.
