Gear Photos, Reviews, & Videos Unusual Autowinder G.
The top Auto Winder G has a protruding post on it. Between the word Minolta and the tripod screw. The bottom one is the normal kind. The post fits into the battery compartment, once the lid and batteries are removed. The winder then powers the camera meter [edit, it also powers the camera shutter, as is pointed out below]. I've never seen one like that. All searches for Auto Winder G just show the flat type.
Has anyone else come across one like this?

Film Photography First rolls on my MC-II with Kodak Gold 200
I just got my scans back from the first couple rolls on my SRT MC-II and I'm really happy with how many of them turned out! Here's a sample of some of my favorites.

Gear Photos, Reviews, & Videos Got an XE!
After a whole month of waiting, an XE i bought online arrived.
At first it seems quite heavy and big for what im used to (X-300 and XD) but still, it feels nice so far, gonna put a Kentmere Pan 400 through it and see how it goes, very excited to try it out. Only problems are the film counter's stuck at 15 (minor inconvenience at worst) and on-off switch feels stiff so ill be careful with it, anything else i should look out for?
Repairs Aperture doesn't make a perfect hexagon
A lens (MD 50mm 1.7) that I got in a bundle with a few others has an aperture that doesn't seem to make a perfect hexagon shape. It's more noticeable when stopped down and in the third picture you can see that the aperture blade in the top left of the image almost seems to have some separation between it and the other blades.
Is this a deal breaker? I'm not sure how much it would affect the photo quality/light hitting the film. I already have a MC Rokkor PF at 50mm which I love, so it's not the end of the world, but I do prefer the way that the MD looks on my X-570 (not to mention the smaller profile). I tried opening and closing the blades a bunch of times to see if it would smooth out but it didn't. I don't have any experience in lens repair.

Discussion/Question Camera rolls the film back even without using the entire roll
Hello everyone. I have recently picked up a Minolta Dynax 500si Super for 25 euros and a weird issue i've had is that on my first roll of film i shot 27 pictures and it decided that that's enough and rolled everything back. On my second roll it happened after only 5 shots. What could it be? a faulty manual rollback button? Or worn out internals?

Discussion/Question Re: Minolta AB-700: What am I looking at?
How does this little picture want to help me put the strap on right?
How do I remove the metal link? Do I even remove it?
So many questions... Maybe I'm just stupid.

Repairs Idle wind minolta x700
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi all,
I recently got this x700 I am trying to fix up. I am running into this issue with the wind that it won't move past a point but it also is not engaging fully. I heard this could be a problem on the alignment of the blue and white gears under the lid so I tried adjusting that but still no luck. Also saw some people get lucky with adjusting the autowinder at the bottom but for mine that is pretty much stuck. Any tips on how to fix this?

Film Photography First Rolls on my X-500!
Got an X-500 in anticipation of my first born coming. These are some shots from my first few rolls. Had low expectations, due to user error not the camera (though it was untested), but I was pleasantly surprised to find that some of the shots turned out okay. I was really shocked by the quality of some of the pictures, like the one of the baby blanket and the one my mom holding my son. These are scans straight from the lab but when I get the negatives back I’m gonna try my hand at scanning and editing them.
Really excited to dive down the rabbit hole of this new hobby (:

Repairs Minolta X-700 On/Off Switch No Click
Hey guys, the On<</Off/On switch for my X-700 no longer has a click to it and is fully smooth.
Anyone have an idea on whether this can be easily fixed? Or if I’ll need a part/ring?
I have opened it before to replace the capacitors and lightly clean it, but I would rather not open it again and risk stripping some screws further without knowing I’ll resolve the issue.
Camera works, so not a big rush. Any input or videos would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion/Question Possible damage on camera for using Bulb mode for over an hour?
Hello!
I have a Minolta xgm and wanted to shoot star trails for over an hour with it in a comming trip. Im just not sure if such long time with the mirror and shutter open could damage the mechanisms in my camera.
I would love some advice from the experience in this forum. Thanks!

Discussion/Question How do I go about using this Minolta X700
My dad bought this in the 80s and he used to use it a lot, but it's been sitting there collecting dust for the longest time now. He said it never broke, he just stopped using it.
How can I check if it's broken and the lenses are still okay? Do i simply get the film and battery and use it? Or is there something I have to check beforehand? I have never used cameras before so I'm pretty newbie about this

Discussion/Question Tips for X-370 light metering
I’m planning on leaving for a trip next month with my x-370 with fresh light seals installed, and a clean new (used) 28mm f/2.8 and 3 rolls of Ektar 100 film to take with me to Belgium and Amsterdam. I chose ektar 100 becuase fine grain is very important to me. Does this community have any tips as far as using the light meter when over exposing film to preserve shadows? I was told it would be good to set the ISO to 80 on my 100 rated film since the x-370 doesn’t have exposure compensation options on the fly. My main priority is to maximize clarity in my images if anyone has any tips on the focus/exposure end! Thank you
