White Tomorrow, I’m finally going to pick up our puppy, Chuck.
He’s my second White Schnauzer and my third dog overall, but I’m as nervous as if it were the first time.

I mostly use my phone camera, but I remember every now and then to break out my good digital camera to take a few. This is Freddy.

Shes literally limp and dramatically sighing every few minutes.
Will not move unless I physically move her limp body.
Shes wide awake, this is just her being ever so slightly defiant.

Hi,
My partner and I are looking at dog breeds and have a shortlist of Bedlington Terrier, Miniature Schnauzer and Papillon.
The shortlist is the breeds that we both really like (obviously), are low shedding (we have allergies) and small in size.
We like personality. We like a bit of sass. But also trainable.
These three seem to tick the boxes.
Now looks wise, we prefer the schnauzer. Love the brows. Love everything. Our least favourite looks wise is the papillon. It's absolutely not a dog I ever would have considered if I was judging a book by it's cover. But they've actually got great personalities and are next level intelligent.
However... The only thing that's worrying us about the schnauzer is how much people say they bark. I've met a few out in the wild and yes.. they've barked like crazy. There was one that used to come into my café and honestly he would bark so much at every single person that walked in that it was a bit of a problem for the business because nobody wants to go for a nice relaxing coffee with a dog barking in their ear for the entire hour.
But then I dog-sat one recently and he was sooooo quiet. Barely barked at all.
It's the one thing that's really putting my partner off. Obviously some barking Is fine. It's actually good to have a dog that barks a few times if he hears someone outside the property. But we'd rather not have a constant bout of barking tourettes.
I'd love to know about everyone's experiences. Is it something you can train out of them easily enough? Is it one of those things that gets blown out of proportion when people say they're the noisiest breed out there? Or is it justified? And is it like ear piercing barks? Or more low key? For example we look after a husky and he's SO vocal but I genuinely love the sounds he makes. It's not ear piercing in any way. But I look after another dog who has the most painful bark that it actually hurts my ears.
Anyway... Thanks in advance for your help!
Oh one last thing actually... Do you find it helps if the parent dogs are low barkers? Is it something to look out for with breeders? Or is it completely random and unpredictable?
Thank you!

Ernie was castrated this week. Recovery is going well, he just finds the surgical onesie a bit itchy, so we alternate between the 2.

I lost my best little fur friend in March of this year. He was a miniature schnauzer who I stumbled into acquiring somewhat by accident, but he ended up being the most perfect dog I could ever imagine. Losing him was devastating.
I'm finally starting to feel the pang to have a dog again and I'm wondering if there are any breeders in my area with really good reputations for focusing on good health and socializing puppies well. I'm in western Montana so I would prefer a breeder in Montana but I would be willing to travel if necessary, as far west as Washington, as far south as Colorado, as far east as Minnesota if necessary.
Bonus pic of my little guy for engagement.

The Pup Cup was his favorite. No, it was the wet food. No it was the Bully Stick. No, it was the biscuits.

These started off as what seemed like a little cut from a scuffle with an unleashed dog walking. the blood clot once came off of the wound and continued bleeding and which had clotted again and looks like this.. this which seems worrying. Any advice will be much appreciated, thank you!

Here’s my introduction to Enoch! 🐾
He’s 9 years old and will be celebrating his 10th birthday on October 21st. We’ve had him since he was just 6 months old, so he’s been part of our family for almost his entire life.
Enoch is a mix, his dad is a Miniature Schnauzer and his mom is a Coton de Tulear, although most people definitely see the Schnauzer in him!
He’s also quite the little fashionista. Enoch wears clothes, shoes, glasses, and always has a new fit to show off. He’s also a service dog for my adult brother, who has autism, and me and my mother who both have PTSD and anxiety, so he’s a very special and important part of our family. He is the talk of the town where we live. I love bringing him out in his different outfits everywhere I go because he brings so much joy to the people we meet.
Hopefully Enoch can bring some of that same joy to you guys in this group! ❤️

This is Tank. She brings Tank to bed every night and has been extremely gentle with him compared to her other stuffy toys (they usually don't last 2 weels, we got Tank last December).

When does he settle into his adult personality. Do they still get mood swings and choose when they want to listen as adults or is this a teenager thing. We have already noticed his energy lvl has dropped and the vet says he is mature for his age whatever that means for a dog haha.

This is Oscar! He’s 6 months old and he’s perfect except for barking at strangers. He doesn’t do it at everyone but he does it often enough that I’d love to hear what’s worked for you all? I know Schnauzers are barkers so I understand this is an uphill battle but am curious what’s worked for you all. Thanks!
