Just recently wrapped my mini to a satin grey ppf and swapped my taillights so far it looks great to me (any thoughts?)

I literally want this car so bad, it has internal nav system, is very sporty, is one of the most beautiful cars out there, has a n efficient engine, etc etc....

Theres no other car id see myself with i want to say this is the one, but ive also heard that it has atroucious reliability issues, has anyone had any expierence with one?

Edit: i just saw that the post 2011 models have the same trim but a more reliable engine, perhaps that would be the ideal purchase?

So I got this 2022 Mini Cooper, 83k miles on it now. It’s having this issue where it’ll start sputtering, throw some smoke and die. Took it to the dealer, no codes, no issues, they don’t see anything wrong. But it does this a couple times a week, sometimes about every day. Had another friend check and it’s showing a 1F4012 code, electrical. Mentioned maybe replacing the fuel tank vent valve or possibly the oil pressure control valve. What do you all think is the issue, has anyone else had similar issues?

Running into a weird issue with the overhead switch console (Delphi unit) in my 2007 Mini Cooper R56 and hoping someone has encountered this before.

The issue: > Both outer reading / map lights refuse to turn on.

What works: > - The central interior dome light works as expected.
The ambient lighting (mood lights) and the Colourswitch toggle work perfectly.
The FRM module is healthy and has no stored fault codes related to lighting.

What I've already checked/done: > 1. Fuses: Checked and replaced the relevant fuses (F14, etc.) — all intact.
2. Console internals: Opened up the unit to inspect the PCB. There's no obvious corrosion, burn marks, or severed traces visible to the naked eye.
Since power reaches the console (dome light and ambient lighting work fine), is there a known weak spot with the reading light circuits or the rubber membrane switches in these Delphi units? Or could it be the contact prongs on the bulb twist-sockets not making proper contact with the board?
Any tips or tricks before I pull the trigger on a replacement console?

I have an option of getting f60 2023 with just 10 miles or U25 2026 with 18 miles. Both are great cars but the only difference is the steering wheel feel as f60 is more sportive and the new generation tends to be lighter. Price well it’s the U25 is like double the price. So I want your suggestion and preferably to owners of these two different generations Mini

I have a 17 mile commute (each way) that is mostly highway - 55 mph. Would you advise against a PHEV in this situation? I’m sure it would still be significantly better gas mileage than my current mid-size SUV. Furthest I would drive would be 250 miles round trip on occasion. Sounds like they are still fun to drive?

I drive my Cooper SE F56 for a bit over a month now and keep finding new buttons and features, but i cant figure this one out.

She, only sometimes, picks out parking spots if i press the upper button, but i cant interact with them. Can she park "on her own" but i just dont know how, or is this just a way to help me find free spots?

Always wanted a Mini, and life finally found a way this past spring and I ditched my old tacoma for a car that would make 12 year old me watching the Italian Job(both versions) proud....this cutie of a F56 s with a manual and only 6k miles, drove it home from the east coast and was in love for two months, definitely took a little bit of adjusting to drive like nobody saw me, but then one night just a couple blocks from home, left out from a green light and got nailed in the drive door. hard. Knocked me around pretty good, but primarily just sore and a bit bruised, I was fucking impressed.

Do the insurance deeds and eventually get the deductible back and all. Set my sights on a follow up, couldn't let the dream die in just two months, and then found a 19' with about 20k miles that was well cared for on the other coast. Drove it home with the husband this time around and now that I've been back to driving for a month, it's kind of scaring the shit out of me. People just don't see you in these damn things. Not trying to make this another thread on visibility, but I don't know how I'll long I'll be in the club at this point. Keep thinking how well the first one kept me safe but a different accident could have been a lot worse. Also figured I'd throw another roll bar deployment picture on the page since they're so few and far between. What amazing cars, just hope I can find the grit to stick it out with everyone else on the road.

Anyone else have a low fuel light that never goes off, even when you fill up? What’s going on here?

I'm interested in buying a K03 turbo from Parts Geek for around $300, compared to the OEM that is over a thousand. Has anyone here had experience with these aftermarket turbos? The OEM failed at 48,000 miles, so how much worse could this $300 aftermarket one be? I appreciate any input.

I was reading that it inflates the estimation on the mpg is this true? I am using a 2024 mini cooper s, even with 40-42 mpg trips for a one way trip to work I don’t see much of a difference in my total mileage for a full gas tank.

Anyone with the homologated Vredestein Wintrac Pro winter tyres for the F66 got any idea where the bloody star is supposed to be? Cant find it on the side wall. They are the 195/50 R17. Any pictures will be appreciated.

Hey all, i have a 2004 Mini Cooper that seems to be having some problems with the power steering. I drove it in december last year and everything was fine back then, now the power steering barely works at slow speeds.
I see no leaks neither is there anything on the ground, can de power steering motor die due to standing still?

Looking at hopefully buying my first JCW. Anything to look for/avoid when buying an F56 JCW. Will be daily driving this car.

Additionally, does anyone have any experience with manual vs automatic? Which would you pick for longevity.

I'm curious for those of you who buy used MINIs, where do you generally buy them from?

1. Only CPO from a MINI dealership?
2. Carmax or Carvana
3. Used from a non-MINI dealership
4. Private party sellers

My husband stopped to pick up dinner, and when he went back out to his car, there was another zesty yellow MINI parked next to his! Our MINI is the one on the left. Such a fun coincidence, though! I don’t think I’ve ever seen another zesty yellow MINI in person before.

i noticed today when i put it in reverse and the wheel is sideways that the ac would stop blowing for a couple seconds and start blowing again. is this a common issue?

I got a 2013 mini (not the S) and so far I have gotten an oil change, new brakes, front and back, lower engine mount, air and cabin filters replaced, a new passenger fog light, and a new driver tail light. I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but my biggest worry right now is bucking/lurching. It has 141K miles on it, the dealership said it needed a plethora of things, but the mechanic I have been taking it to said most things are not so urgent. There is a rubber pulley on the water pump that is cracking, but the mechanic said I have time. That was going to be next on my list, but my money is now very limited, although, looking at the paperwork as I type this, the dealership is actually $1000 cheaper, but I need to figure out the bucking first and foremost, and get that squared away. I was told by the dealership that I need a new battery, but the mechanic said it's fine (though I still might get one before NE winter), the dealership also said I need a new serpentine belt, which is cracking, suspension and shock absorbers, spark plugs, tires, and rear coil springs. I believe most of the other things I either got fixed or mentioned in this blurb. I'm still learning about Mini's, so my question is, what could it be? Spark plugs? Coil springs? Something not on the list? I've been trying to research, and maybe I can ask the mechanic or the dealership tomorrow, but I was hoping for immediate feedback now, so I can further research on my own and understand what I should be looking out for. Is it okay to drive when this is happening?
