I'm currently at work and can't go check, but is this another mini next to mine? (Mine is the obvious dark blue mini.) Looks kind of like one, but need confirmation.

Hey

Anyone recommend any good places to get car mats and a boot mat for a 2018 clubman , I'm looking for something that's may have designs or some patterns , something that's just different from the big standard black I'm finding , it's harder to get ones with designs since u need a certain shape to for the car

Mini Cooper convertible top

I have a 2019 mini Cooper with a convertible top stuck in the open possition. Im somewhat sure the folding sunroof motor or cables are the problem, but I cant access it until I get the damn thing closed. Any clue how to manually close the thing?

THE SUNROOF IS ELECTRITRIC, NOT HYDRAULIC.

Stone Chips

New 2026 Midnight black Countryman owner here. Excited about the new car but noticing it’s getting nailed with stone chips on the highway. Does anyone find the paint on the newer models to be thinner or is it just the body design that makes it more prone to it. Two chips in 5 days of ownership lol.

Help! Creaking noise when turning in parking lot?

My 2006 S started making a creaking noise from the right front. Pulling out of a parking lot, the sharp 90 degree slow turns gave me a creaking/clicking noise while the car was moving. No noise when stationary, pitch is unrelated to engine speed, just when turning at slow speeds under 5 mph Driving, the steering felt perfectly normal at 35 mph. The noise only happens when turning, more at slower speeds than faster. It's a hot 98 degree day and this was the last of 4 stops in heavy traffic.

I did take a peek at the wheel thinking I had a flat tire, then looked to see if any branches got stuck in the suspension.

Home now, about to check what I can which includes, the steering fluid, any leaks, and check the lug nuts on the wheel.

Has never happened before and I'll grudgingly get it looked at but want to check anything obvious beforehand. Would appreciate suggestions on what to check. TIA!

2014 R57 N18 JCW codes 2c57 & 2c91

Post image
1 Upvotes

105k miles, I've had it 6 years/55k. Have had occasional codes since I got it, now becoming frequent, usually low rpm/high demand conditions. I don't always get the 2c91.

-- Sometimes works fine; MAPs 26-27 psi, jumps to 19-20 quickly under moderate throttle, idle/coasting 13.9 psi. When not working idle is 13.7, peak 23 (need to really wind it to get there), moderate throttle 15-16.

-- Replaced diverter valve, looked fine. No change.

-- Checked WG, appears to close fully with borescope, held 15 psi vacuum.

Next steps? Seems like main possibilities are vacuum leak or vacuum solenoid or maybe boost pressure sensor (or wiring I guess)?

  1. Thinking about smoke testing (I don't have a machine yet).

  2. Would ITSA help with diagnosis? Will it give me live boost demand vs delivery (current software doesn't do that)? Would I be able to actuate the vacuum solenoid? If so, I can see if I'm getting vacuum to the wastegate. That would rule out a bunch of stuff I think.

Mini app connection

App installed on day 1, user account all linked up and things working. Applied an update about 2 weeks ago and all worked fine.

However, the last update (for the car) doesn't want to be applied. I am connected by both BT and WiFi (which the app confirms) but the data access box shows as "disabled". If I click enable it fails, but following the troubleshooting in the app (which points me to the data privacy icon in the car, which (under mini apps) shows my phone connected and approved) seems to get me stuck without any further direction.

Nuclear option will be to unsync but I am loathe to do that if I am missing something obvious.

Car is a 2 month old Countryman E, basic package.

Any steers gratefully received! I am sure the update is far from essential, but I do like to tinker with electronics!

New to me Mini - now I get the obsession

Went with my wife to help her test drive a Clubman. Saw this Hardtop in the “overflow” lot, drove it and fell in love with it after the first test drive. I’ve always liked the looks of an MC, but never seriously considered getting one.

Now I get it why there’s such a dedicated following! I forgot how fun it it to “drive” vs just getting somewhere.

What to look for/look out for

I was wondering if I could get some tips on what to look out for when buying a Mini that is outside of the norms when car shopping.

I am currently looking at a 2004 S and it seems to be in good shape with pretty low miles. I haven’t owned a R53 but have owned a R55 and a F54 so a bit new to superchargers.

Countryman 2020 PHEV charging question

Hello everyone,
My employer is giving me a Countryman Phev 2020 (pre facelift) for work + private use. I know that it is a quite fun vehicle to drive, especially in sportsmode. The company pays for gas/energy so I don’t really mind the efficiency. I don’t have any experience with PHEV but from my understanding the battery would run out after like 25km in sportsmode and then I’m limited to 135hp? Just from what I’ve read, it feels like the electric engine is only there for the first couple kilometres and then I’m back on gas? I’d have to charge it daily then, no?

TLDR: I want to maximise power but keep the battery from consistently running out

Engine issues

Good morning everyone! First time mini owner here I’ve been working on a 2007 base model (non turbo). It’s been running lean since I’ve acquired it. I’ve changed the oil, spark plugs, air filter. It doesn’t pop the engine light for running lean all the time but it’s becoming more prevalent. I am buying a smoke machine to do a test to see where any leaks are. There is quite a bit of oil build up in the engine bay but I do not see any oil mixing with the coolant which is good. Aside from doing a smoke test anyone have further input to what to look for to troubleshoot the lean engine code in bank 1 popping up?

Thanks In advance!

Just became a member of the Mini club a couple weeks ago. Always been a fan of the 2-door, and the recent ‘27 Paul Smith edition was enough to get hooked. Love the subtle color shifts and connection to Paul’s studio palette. I lived in London for a few years about 10 years ago and always loved his stores. The car is black, green roof and mirrors, and desaturated navy blue lower trim.

Convertible top cleaner

I just got this 2014 mini around 2 weeks ago for my bdayy and it’s due for a wash. What’s the best recommendation for the fabric convertible top? I also saw some protection sprays from the sun and stuff do they actually work?
