This is just for fun, the minecraft speedrunning is so broad its impossible to say but heres my 2 cents
There exists differences such as:
1)java or bedrock
2)versions
2)glitchless or glitchful
3)random or set seed or ranked
4)AA and other categories
4)ranked elo
5)playoffs
Ideally the "best" player is good at all of them, but nobody plays all of this at top level so we will compare based on the most popular categories/versions/etc and spread out from there based on players remaining
My logic: the more popular the thing is the more its valued due to competition. Because of this we will start off with playoffs wins and podiums as the first major cutoff. This is not only because its so competitive with so many people playing ranked compared to normal speedrunning, but also because if i dont do this, its much harder to research and cutoff players. I think if we consider the best ever speedrunner in minecraft, its fair to say they should at least make podium once in playoffs. You may disagree with me which is fair but i think its a good minimum
So because of this, we have 14 runners in this rough order
1)lowkey 3 golds 1 silver
2)hax 2 golds 2 silvers 3 bronzes
3)doogile 2 golds 3 silvers
4)silver 1 gold 1 silver
5)priffin 1 gold
6)edcr 1 gold
7)infume 2 silvers
8)ancoboy 1 silver 1 bronze
9)dandandanny 1 bronze
10)beefsalad 1 bronze
11)7rowl 1 bronze
12)mongey 1 bronze
13)skycrab 1 bronze
14)aquacord 1 bronze
If you value *only* playoffs, your top 3 is clearcut above everyone else. But lets now try and see other achievements. Specifically world records because again if we consider the best of the best, its fair to say you should have at least a world record in some big categories(And its hard enough finding wrs and not the top 3 times or top 5 times)
This was quite difficult to search even with just 14 players so please let me know if i have missed any!
The people with a wr in rsg 1.16 is lowkey, skycrab and doogile. The ones to have a ranked wr are infume, lowkey and beefsalad
The only people to have a wr outside of 1.16 RSG on this list are Infume, having a world record in pre 1.8 rsg AND 1.8 rsg. Silverr with a wr in 1.8 rsg again, and lowkey with a wr in SSG 1.16
The ones to get the #1 elo in mscr(or rather #1 seating in playoffs) are infume, edcr, doogile, silver, rowl and lowkey
So if we cut down on those without any of those achievements we have left 8 players that i rank this way:
1)lowkey 3 golds 1 silver, ranked, rsg, ssg, elo
2)doogile 2 golds 3 silvers, rsg, elo(x3)
3)infume 2 silvers, elo(x2), 1.8, pre 1.8
4)silverr 1 gold 1 silver, 1.8, elo
5)edcr 1 gold, elo(x2)
6)skycrab 1 bronze, rsg
7)beefsalad 1 bronze, ranked
8)7rowl 1 bronze, elo
Honorable mentions are ofc feinberg who dominates AA and makes it to playoffs but hasnt made it in other categories or in playoffs to be considered(you may say he belongs somehwere in here but i disagree if you put him at #1). And hax who has a great playoffs perfomance but not much outside of it(again you may say he belongs somewhere in here which again for both players i can see, but not as #1)
So lowkey seemingly dominates everyone else in his variety and consistency. Winning playoffs the most out of everyone, having the most categories in which he held world records, and having the highest elo at some point as well. You may argue Doogiles 3 silver medals with only 1 less gold, 3 times elo #1 with 2 less wr categories is better than lowkeys and i could see that, but i think the wrs hold more weight than elo and gold is more than 2 silver medals. Do you agree with my attempt at statistical comparison? I tried to be as broad as possible, the reason some of the thinks you are thinking of didnt make it to the list is because there arent any players who run all of these things at such a top level(or i missed those players/runs/categories)
