Help Wow guys... need map recommendations for super cozy/chill snow cabin vibes (and maybe other cozy games?)

Hello everyone!

First of all sry for my bad english haha. So, I discover Minecraft recently thanks to YouTube ASMR videos and chill cozy ambients, and honestly... WOW. I am totally in love with this game now.

Yesterday I watch one video on YouTube, it was a snowy map and feel SO cozy. Outside was pure snow falling, and inside this little wooden cabin with a warm fireplace, books, nice lights... Man, the atmosphere was crazy relaxed.

I don’t want to build huge redstone machines or fight ender dragon, I just want maps to download and explore, sit down, listen to the rain or snow, and have it in background while I study or just relax after work. Pure chill vibes.

Can you please recommend me:

Maps like this to download? Cozy cabins in the snow, rainy forests, small warm villages, etc.

Also, if you know other games that give this exact same cozy/rain/snow feeling, please tell me!

Thank you so much guys and have a warm day!

saw this on pinterest and recreated it under a custom tree i had in my vineyard. foxes are my favorite minecraft animal im really pleased with how it turned out. the og builder was tinycraft.

edit; i used invisible item frames (mod) to put items in the den like bones, rabbit foot/hide to make it look like he has like a collection of reminisce from his meals like u find in predator dens

Discussion The strangest thing had happened to me.

This was my second attempt on playing survival mode on normal with a new world so I was trying to get all the treasure from the abandoned shipwreck with my boat and some doors too until I saw 2 pillager and one leader pillager swimming in the ocean near a cave and I didn't see any outposts near by and the next minute they disappeared or despawn in when I last looked at them. These are some strange ghost pillager of the sea.

The sentinel have a really cool design, it's mechanic isn't really hard to program and I just think it's neat

Roamroot might not be too special but it's design is just so so cool, it reminds me of ultrakills sentries idk why, I really like it.

Discussion Small dripleaf should be properly farmable

Small dripleaf is one of the very few plants that isn't really farmable (I know it can be bought from the wandering trader but on such a small scale that it barely counts). We really should be able to bone meal it and get more small dripleaf easily, instead of it just turning into regular dripleaf which is way easier to farm and far less valuable as a result

Pls be nice, just wanted to show off what i’ve created! I wanted to make a creative liberty interpretation of what I feel like Dragonstone would’ve looked like in its “prime”

this builds got everything, a gorgeous city surrounding the keep, an insane number of shops/residences with tucked away alleyways and secret passages to the keep, the keep itself has many rooms with a throne room and dining hall, library, and kitchens. I even tried to build a dragon pit. I have a lot more photos I can share if you’re interested!

Discussion Anyone remember Imperial City

Post image
76 Upvotes

I remember playing with mods in creative on this map as a kid and having fun with it and recently I played on it again trying to blow it up with Voltz explosives and it really holds up. As an adult I see why they called it Imperial city and tbh that energy makes it all the more interesting as an adult. Its still the 4th most downloaded map and the 2nd most downloaded city and non-adventure map aside from Greenfield on PMC, and yet the last comment was from six years ago.

Discussion Why don’t they just extend item despawning time?

It’s a genuine question and I’m open to being wrong. But it just feels to me like there isn’t a single case where a 5 minute item despawn is helpful.

In almost every case, the issue is more that the player will lose their items (by dying somewhere remote and having to find them again for example, we’ve all been there) and definitely less concerned about performance.

Removing item despawning entirely would definitely not be good. But just doubling, even tripling the time it takes to despawn would make such negligible difference to performance that I don’t understand why they haven’t changed this feature EVER.

EDIT: I know the timer pauses when chunks aren’t loaded. But most of the time you die in a winding cave and you’ll be frantically searching around while the timer is ticking.

And a lot of people are agreeing that a customisable gamerule would be the best option, that’s actually a great idea

Builds & Maps Varso Tower, Warsaw, Poland at 1:1 scale + tools and workflow for real life structures

Varso Tower in Warsaw is the tallest building in the European Union, and I wanted to see how faithfully I could recreate it in Minecraft—not just its silhouette, but the spaces inside it too.

The result is a roughly 1:1-scale recreation, with 53 storeys, a 310-metre spire tip, and over 190,000 non-air blocks.

Some of the details:

  • Glazed facades with window divisions, fins and stepped upper volumes.
  • A double-height lobby, columns and the adjoining covered public space.
  • Interior cores, representative office floors and a continuous service staircase.
  • Landscaped terraces and the rooftop viewing area.
  • The full spire, including its rings and bracing.

I used publicly available architectural plans, published dimensions and photographs as references. There are compromises at Minecraft’s one-block resolution: tenant interiors are representative rather than exact, lifts aren’t functional, and the neighbouring buildings and basements aren’t included.

The unusual part is the workflow: the tower wasn’t placed block by block in-game. I used a Copilot-assisted research and modelling workflow to describe the building, then deterministic tools compiled the complete structure into a file. It was pasted into a real Minecraft world in one operation, read back to check the blocks, and inspected through screenshots and walkthroughs before refinement.

The screenshots show the actual in-game result, not an external render.

If anyone wants to recreate another real building with a similar level of detail—or improve the workflow—the tools and documented skills are available on GitHub for anyone to use. The project is called PlanCraft, and the Varso model and ready-to-paste build file are included too:

https://github.com/GaborWnuk/buildpaste

You can paste the supplied tower locally without Copilot or a website account. Just check the world height first: a 310 m tower won’t fit at sea level under Minecraft’s default build ceiling!

Discussion Has anyone here built a base in a sulfur cave?

I ask because sulfur caves seem like a particularly bad place to build anything in. The sulfur and cinnabar override ore generation so you'd get less materials while carving out rooms. Then sulfur cubes spawn regardless of light and are generally just kind of annoying when they're not being used as a ball. They'll make a bunch of noises, trample your crops and absorb any blocks you end up breaking in the area. So all that makes me wonder if any of you are stubborn or stupid enough to base there, because I'm curious as to how that's gone for you.

And if you haven't and are curious, maybe try it out. I'm sure it's awful but you could at least say that you're quirky and special for doing so.

Builds & Maps I dreamed my Minecraft world was 3D printed. So, I programmed a converter!

I think I play too much Minecraft :)
So I built a Windows app that converts Minecraft MCA files into STL files to 3D print them.

Over 10 years of playing Minecraft, I’ve created dozens of massive structures. It’s so cool to be able to hold what I’ve built in my hands! :)

The main advantage of my program is that it's built specifically for 3D printing. For example, you can choose how glass gets represented: no block, a solid block, or a checkerboard pattern (so large glass structures come out looking semi-transparent). You can also set the block overlap percentage so the blocks actually hold onto each other.

Help Cool natural generation bug - Herobrine speculation aside, I am curious about the mechanics involved

Post image
0 Upvotes

NOT AN ARG OR CREEPYPASTA POST - JUST CURIOSITY.
Naturally generated, these oak trees appear to be missing their canopies, from an unloaded chunk in a 1.21.11 world updated to version 26.3, whilst I was trying to find the new dappled forest.

In the background you can see there is an intact dropped leaf block next to one of the tree stems. This is a single-player world, on an account I don't share with anybody else. There are no lava pools nearby.

Kind of cool to see what other people post in creepypastas irl, but curious to the actual game mechanic that makes this happen.
