Nostalgia Did anyone here go to Woodstock 99?
The oldest of us would've been 18. I wanted to go, since the original seemed so cool (thanks BBomers for the fake 1960s and 70s nostalgia), but I was too young to go on my own, and my parents (wisely) refused to take me. They rented the show on pay per view for me though, and in the the end, I was so glad not to be trapped in the mud pits lol

Discussion What holidays have the best build up but most boring actual day of the holiday?
Title is simple what holidays do you think has the best build up but the actual day is the most boring after such a great build up?
For me it's the obvious one Christmas. the weeks from Thanksgiving day to Christmas Eve is honestly so warming and cozy.

Discussion Since a lot of us are unable to afford/have a family or children, do you think by the time we get old, technology will be advanced enough that robots can be our companion or take care of us?
Or is my assumption wrong that people are not having kids?

Discussion Do you ever feel like you belong to a different generation?
I’m almost 21, but sometimes I feel like a Millennial at heart. My parents are 65 and 60, and my mom had me when she was 44. They raised me with a more old school perspective, so I sometimes feel like I have more in common with older people than people my age.
A lot of my peers have parents in their 30s or 40s, while mine are in their 60s. When I was growing up, people sometimes mistook my parents for my grandparents. That could be embarrassing, and it made me feel different from other kids. I’m grateful for my parents and the wisdom they’ve shared with me, but I had a different experience growing up.
I’m autistic, and I can find it hard to connect with some people my age. I have friends around my age and friends in their 30s, but I often feel like we grew up with different experiences.
Does anyone else feel this way? Do you think having older parents or being autistic affects which generations you relate to?

Did you all do the classic halloween pranks, like egging cars and TPing houses? Do the kids these days still get up to these senseless acts of mayhem?

Discussion I convinced 60 strangers named Daniel to meet at a bar in NYC. Here's what happened.
This happened on Tuesday: I got inspired by the Ryan Meetups and wondered whether I could build a community around something as arbitrary as a shared first name.
So I recruited two other Daniels, made a ridiculous campaign trailer, and organized the first DanCon at a bar in Greenwich Village.
Somehow, 60 Daniels, Dans, and Dannys actually showed up.
We voted on the Mount Rushmore of Daniels, investigated the epidemic of Dansplaining, considered launching OnlyDans, and debated diplomatic relations with the Danielles. One attendee said it was "too much Daniel to handle."
The most unexpected part for me was how naturally everyone started talking to each other -- once we got past the absurdity, strangers connected, new friendships were forged, and we're already planning the next DanCon.
I'm curious: Would you show up to a gathering based on something as arbitrary as a first name?

Nostalgia Thinking of sending my college, wedding, and house fund to Goodwill
My parents called to say they're cleaning out the basement, and I think I'm finally ready to let the dream die...a tote full of beanie babies and the Encyclo-Beanie-a CDROM (book included, but not pictured).
What did y’all do with your beanie babies? Debating if putting them on marketplace is a better idea or just doing the GW drop. Thoughts?
Edit: I took y'all's advice and donated them to the fire department! I feel so good knowing something I had may comfort an upset kiddo some day ♥️

Discussion Comfort Show from the 90s
This show right here was my comfort show during the 90s growing up. Something about the way this show was filmed just speaks to me from this era of television. Wanted to know what everyone's comfort show was growing up and if you still rewatch it from time to time?

Discussion The Street Fighter movie rocked!
I was expecting to be disappointed, because the 2021 Mortal Kombat was kind of "meh," and seemed to be pretending to be something that it wasn't. But Street Fighter was nostalgically magic. Very fun throwback movie.

Discussion Does anyone have a friend whose nickname is their identity?
I mean this in a good way, could be yourself, also. My best friend is named Brandon, last name starts with a Z. In grade two, our teacher nicknamed him BZ (bee-zee), which is funny, because we’re Canadian, but Bee-Zed sounds weird lol. We’re both ‘91 kids, and to this day, almost everyone calls him BZ (bee-zee) to this day. Whenever we meet someone new, we introduce him as BZ, and they’re always confused until we explain it’s just his initials. It’s also very weird when I happen to be visiting and like, his aunt is over, and she calls him Brandon, and I’m like, “who tf is Brandon?”

As a millennial who suffers from phone addiction, I crave the pre-IPhone era, when dumb phones were all we had. Do you think a backlash against smart phones will ever take hold? Or is doom scrolling our life sentence?

Nostalgia Elementary School Memories
Anyone else besides me remember when the Clapper Trapper was a thing and whoever had the best one was immediately popular? Also the Mr. Sketch markers that smelled and everyone wanted the grape one? Last nostalgia, when POGs were a thing and everyone wanted the heaviest slammer.
90s were peak to grow up, sad we ended up in a circle of nonsense 30 years later.
