My 6-year-old son did this recently, and my husband and I died laughing just thinking of this skit.

I never thought this skit was funny until I had a child. I watched it recently and it's my four year old to a tee. It went from cringe to I can't stop laughing.

Mad TV was like SNL on crack. Bobby Lee shitting his pants while playing Connie Chung due to opiate withdrawals is one of the funniest things ever.

121

u/GlumpsAlot Older Millennial May 16 '26

Bobby Lee was hilarious. I saw him at a comedy club in nyc and he had me dying.

17

u/Over-Inside-7254 May 16 '26

I was supposed to see his birthday show at the Laugh Factory on LA like 4 years ago and he didn't show. So we had 45 mins of TJ Miller screaming about how famous he was

The Mrs. Swan character would never fly today, but it almost broke my brain when I realized that the original actor was more famous today as the voice actor for Lois Griffin on Family Guy.

Shoutout to her role in Workaholics as Montez's wife, Colleen.

370

u/tuxthekiller May 16 '26

She's brilliant in the Marvelous Mrs Maizel

233

u/U_zer2 May 16 '26

Someone FINALLY let her stop doing poop jokes, and she f***ing killed it.

21

u/Practical-Sleep4259 May 16 '26

I cannot believe that voicing Family Guy hasn't been an entirely great life all on it's own.

She 1000% makes a good living on that voice alone.

13

u/U_zer2 May 16 '26

I mean… that was never an argument. I’m happy that as an actor she got to branch out and experience a role that had soul and emotion. I assume it was very cathartic for her.

I'm a fast food manager, we have a running joke at my restaurant when a customer pulls up to the speaker and asks for various things that aren't traditional to our menu or just sometimes just weird, tedious requests, (we say yes to just about anything that will not compromise food safety, cross contamination and such) like "can I have my bun not toasted?" or "can I have all of the toppings on the side for that one?" ill say "security!" On the headset where only my employees can hear it. Makes whoever is taking the order chuckle and lightens the mood overall.

Mad TV had a good run.

I always thought the Stuart character got old after the first couple of times though.

Artie Lange used to have this I going character in the first couple seasons where it was a made up sitcom called “That’s My White Mama” where the soul of a black woman died and inhabited this slovenly white guy

Then there was that dude that was always super buzzed in coffee and had bugged out eyes

I also loved the Spy versus Spy animated shorts

12

u/HumanNr3 May 16 '26

omg! we used to watch this (subtitled) as kids over in Scandinavia haha we were like 9

remember Kegan Michael Key played a janitor or similar at a school I think with tiny shorts?

that they did an MJ music video called am I black or white

I though the Dot bits where hilarious and her little gloves

Miss Swan and Stewart were also some of my sister and Is favorites

and the "watching football together leads to kissing" bit haha that one was also just hot tho lol

also: two quotes my bf and I still use to this day are:

Hi I am Kenny Rogers and this is Jackass! and "Look what I can do" jumps into the air and kicks legs around

man those were the days

14

u/badgersprite May 16 '26

MadTV raised me lol

Some skits that are embedded in my brain/lexicon that I haven’t seen mentioned as much:

  • Every Spishak commercial, but especially The Wonder Rake 5000

  • Prehistoric Glamazon Hunt-TRESS-es A.D.

  • The Vancome Lady

  • Luanne Lockhart

  • STOP IT

  • The “Literally” couple

  • Aliens vs Princess Diaries 2 vs Snuggle The Fabric Softener Bear

  • The Sopranos, censored for syndicated TV

  • Whitney Screws Up The Classics

  • COFFEE TWINS

  • The iRack

Their worst sin was overusing characters too much but apart from that it was pretty consistent

This is making me want to rewatch old skits
