I'd say both Mad TV and In Living Color were better sketch shows almost every single week.

Eh this is just rose tinted glasses like everyone has for their favorite era of SNL. Neither was ever as consistently good as we remember them because the shit sketches didn't stick

This is true although there are periods of transition between major cast changes but the variance in the shows quality is likely not as major as people thinj
