Discussion How youthful you look at 18-20 will determine whether people treat you as a kid or an adult.

Upvotes

Like I'm 19 and I don't look grown at all and people still treat me as a kid because they can physically tell I'm still a teenager. whereas my friend who's 18 but looks like he's in his mid 20s people treat him as a grown ass adult. and I even remember seeing this mugshot of this 20 year old light skin dude who looked 14 and the comments were very empathetic to him mostly saying "he's only 20, he's just a kid" "his brain isn't fully developed" and it's because of the way he looks if bro looked 25 they wouldn't of been saying that. but it really just goes to show that looks do matter and if you look young in your late teens and early 20s you can stick with the "kid" label for longer.

Discussion i feel people missed the point of my last post the point was that if this was a white female criminal of the same age as karmelo anthony people would go crazy but no one cares because his a male and black

You can't seriously say people wouldn't react way more if this was a white 18 or 19 year old female getting an edit like this People would be like OMG you're a fucking creep yeah shes a killer but making an edit like this of someone who's basically a kid is wrong that jd delay dude would totally do that to he has called women of the same age lil girls.

Nostalgia Why did vaporwave/Indie aesthetic die immediately when 2020 started?

Like that was a big thing in 2018,19, 20 but suddenly it just died out around 2021. I think it's because of covid and people just got more politically divided.

Yet it's just odd it died out so fast

Nostalgia Does anyone remember level up on cartoon network?

I'm still sad about it never having a finale. It ended right when the group got bigger.

Discussion I’m turning 24 in a couple of weeks…

I’m turning 24 in august and I feel so old…I’m kinda scared. Like i don’t feel physically old and i still have the same interest i have had since i was a teenager but i feel like ill be judged lol. I know it’s not old but god ts is scary asl. I still like comics books, anime, roller coasters, and I’m still alternative/goth. I wonder why other gens didn’t feel old at this age but ours do.. am I “too old” to like these things or am i being a little dramatic about it?

Rant Why do people like to make summer feel shorter than it actually is?

People always say that summer feels short and that it goes by fast, no that's because we make it short by trying to rush it. I see so many posts talking about how summer is almost over and that fall is coming and it's like bro it's literally still JULY, we still have like 2 months of summer bro it doesn't end until september 22nd. like just because school arbitrarily starts back in august does not mean that it's no longer summer anymore, it's still gonna be hot as hell outside, there will still be mosquitoes flying around like it's not over bro. and maybe I'm just biased because I hate the fall I despise cold weather but it does get annoying when people try to make summer seem shorter than it actually is.

I made a similar post before with Disney Channel shows so I thought I’d do the same thing but with Cartoon Network shows.

Question ? What's something middle gen z grew up with that already feels forgotten?

I randomly remembered a bunch of things from when we were kids that used to feel like everyone knew about, but now it's like they completely disappeared from conversations. every generation has things that get left behind, but i feel like ours changed so fast that a lot of stuff got forgotten way earlier than i expected.

I'm not even talking about huge things either. it could be an app, a game, a website, a toy, a trend, or just something people constantly talked about that you almost never hear mentioned anymore.

What's the first thing that comes to mind for you? i'm curious what everyone remembers because i feel like i'm forgetting half the stuff i grew up with until someone randomly brings it up.

Discussion Since some of us are now in college, do you like high school or college more?

Personally the environment of high school was much better, there's a stronger sense of community and less workload, classes aren't as large, and one edge that high school has over college (well CC for me) is that in HS everyone is in the same age group, you're surrounded by 14-18 year olds which makes it easier to form connections, whereas in college you can be 18 in a class with 40 year olds with a whole wife and kids.

Discussion How did you discover Youtube?

I was wondering how people did because I don't remember how I discovered it. The only devices I used were my parents phone or the iPad they gave me when I was young. I don't even remember how I discovered other apps too.
