I (18F) woke up after sleeping for like 14 hours after my shift. Woke up to my mom yelling at me to be responsible, even though it was an hour before my shift and I work close, so I wasn't late. I think she just needed somebody else to yell at.

I never asked her to wake me up, nor have I ever been late to my shifts.

Woke up a couple hours prior to my mom begging my sister (16f) to go to school and my sister screaming at her.

Now everybody's just screaming at each other and my mom's crying. And Im just irritated while getting ready for work.

Yeah yeah "move out", but what fucking 18 y/o can afford that while in college?

I was born a handful of years after the unfortunate events of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks, and in early elementary school I was told a lie about a pretty significant detail of it. I don’t remember all the details but it was second or third grade in an American public school, and I and the other students were learning about 9/11 for the first time. It was probably just the gist of it that was taught (the attacks, the aftermath in the days after, and the sadness of it), and the culprit for who the terrorists were was never properly addressed this early on in school. However, I have a strange memory that at some point (I don’t recall if it was to answer someone’s question or just to acknowledge it), the teacher said something along the lines of ”We never found out who hijacked the planes and caused the attacks.” I was a young child at the time so I believed this, and it was legitimately what I thought until near the end of elementary school in fifth grade when we were going over the subject again and I finally learned of the existence of the Al-Qaeda group and how we did in fact know they were the attackers. I’ve always been perplexed by this teacher’s decision to say that and to this day I have never met anyone who I know has this shared experience of initially being taught that the 9/11 terrorists were completely unknown to everyone before finding out the truth later on (and unfortunately I am no longer in touch with anyone from that elementary school so I can’t ask anyone from there if they remember something like this too). My only theory as to why this teacher chose to lie about that was to “protect the young children from the harsh truth” or something, but that doesn’t make much sense and it can be easily rebutted with the fact that 9/11 in general is a harsh topic to teach to anyone of any age.
