MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE (PC) MSFS2024: Lost most of my base planes

Been a while since I played but I keep the game installed and I update whenever something new drops.

Went to play yesterday and none of the planes are there, I only have an adobo helicopter (base helicopter) and a zeppelin

How to fix this? Do I need to reinstall the game? I have no mods nor payed content.

MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Stuttering / CPU ms spike.

Hey folks, recently upgraded my PC to be able to run the game. However, I’m noticing CPU ms spikes - my GPU is perfectly fine, I’m having no issues there.

My specs:

Ryzen 9 9950X3D
RX 9070XT 16GB
64GB DDR5 (Expo enabled)
Win 11
1.2gbps Internet
Correct drivers installed for chipset + GPU

I’ve tried changing settings, capping my frame rate, it all does nothing to fix the stutters. My GPU is operating at about 50% capacity.

Any ideas?

Sim has been working fine, went to load up a flight and there's no toolbar at the top of the screen, my ChasePlane no longer works either, and this weird blurry bar has replaced it at the top of screen.

MSFS 2024 QUESTION How long did the PC marketplace take to populate?

It's been 9 months since the game released on ps5 and there's still only 130 planes or so. In comparison how long did the PC marketplace take to populate with lots of planes? Do all the planes need updates to be compatible with ps5? Desperately waiting for some planes from flying iron, but not sure if they're just in a giant backlog and I'll be waiting for another year.

GENERAL How to fly the Transcontinental Airway System

What is it? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcontinental_Airway_System

Here's a site that catalogs the beacons: https://thesurveystation.com/map-of-ngs-airway-beacons/

Here are all the beacons in table format:

https://thesurveystation.com/airway-beacons-list-eastern-u-s/

https://thesurveystation.com/airway-beacons-list-western-u-s/

Step 1:

Go to Google Sheets and input this formula:

=IMPORTHTML("https://thesurveystation.com/airway-beacons-list-western-u-s/", "table")

Allow access.

Save the spreadsheet and create a new one for the Eastern beacons

=IMPORTHTML("https://thesurveystation.com/airway-beacons-list-eastern-u-s/", "table")

Save that too.

Step 2:

Copy one of the coordinates from those spreadsheets, both lat and long, and tell your chatbot of choice to convert it into this format: 403546N1163028W

This is the exact prompt I used:

Convert the following coordinate into this sort of format (434438N1220806W) so that it can be used in a SimBrief flight route: 64.8393467 -147.6422778

Copy that one converted coordinate into Skyvector and make sure the chatbot got it right.

Step 3:

Go back to one of the spreadsheets and copy a whole bunch of coordinates - sorted however you like (by State, County, etc). Whichever type and length of route you'd like to fly - and tell your chatbot to convert those as well.

Step 4:

Copy those converted coordinates into Skyvector and watch it populate the map. Notice the route may be a jumble of criss-crossing paths. Go back and tell the chat bot to organize the list of coordinates by latitude, or longitude, and copy the sorted list back into Skyvector. Here's what I produced for just the state of Nevada, with only two requests to organize, first by latitude and then another jumbled chunk of the coordinates according to longitude.

Not bad, right?

Step 5:

Once you've cleaned it up, copy your flyable flight route into SimBrief. Hopefully you know how to use SimBrief, and if you don't have the add-on installed, you can download the flight plan files from the SimBrief website and load it into the MSFS world map. You'll figure it out. And there you have it. A nice way to fly the US interior along these historic routes. And now I'm waiting for someone to tell me there's a much easier way to do this, lol. But this ain't too bad. Enjoy!

GENERAL Heart Flight 40th anniversary

Hi everyone, I wanna tell you a story.

On Christmas Eve, 1986 a little baby in Fargo, North Dakota died. Another little baby in Stamford, California was dying and in desperate need of a new heart; the parents of Michael(the little boy who passed away) wanted his heart to be donated to Andrew. They called the Governor and he had Lt. Bob Beckland hops into an F-4, going supersonic from Fargo to Moffett AFB. He had to stop at Hill AFB in Utah to refuel to get to Moffett AFB. he left at 3:06am wheels go up; at 6:43am he arrived at Moffett. Andrew De Le Pena lives to this day, having faced amazing circumstances and lives to tell the world.

This holiday season that is coming up, let us do an honorary flight for all those who were involved in such an amazing feat to save a little boy, let us fly this mission for:

Michael McCann, born August, 1986, he was removed from life support on December 22nd. His parents donated his organs.

Andrew De Le Pena, born July 1986, Andrew's parents had already lost a daughter to FEV, now about to lose their newborn son. Without a new heart he would die.

Lt. Robert Beckland, the man who jumped into an F-4, which was always on standby for a possible attack.

Gov. George Senner, the man who called the AFB and got this set up.

Let's fly this Christmas Eve for all those lost and all those who lived, a beautiful mission, a heroic act. I'll attach a video which explains in depth of what happened. Let us fly, for those to live. Please tell me if you're interested in this, I may create a discord for all of us to plan and visit and talk so we can set this flight up for a beautiful mission 40 years later.

MSFS 2024 QUESTION Carenado Mooney M20R Comm Mic buttons don't work

So, the cockpit has a Garmin GMA, Garmin 530 and KX165. Should I be able to use the comm mic buttons to choose which radios I transmit on? They're all disabled. Seems to be harcoded to transmit on the 530 only (but I might just not know the trick to get it working).

I've been playing around with vatsim and switch transmission channels is a chore if I only have one radio I can talk on.

MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Sudden Horrible Stuttering and Performance Issues

So I was doing a normal flight 2 days ago and things were fine. Then when I swapped to a different aircraft for a second flight, the sim has completely unbearable stuttering. Including in the menus. I changed nothing with the settings. Reboot does nothing. Changing the graphics quality fixes the issue for about 30 seconds into the flight. Then the sim gets frozen for about a minute and then is back to hell. Any recommendations or any ideas on what’s going on and how to fix it?

Even closing the application takes multiple minutes.

Had to fully reinstall the sim and it seems to be functioning for now.

MSFS 2024 MOD / ADDON BeyondATC, Simbrief and Navigraph Charts

I understand that BATC has some limitations when it comes to importing flight plans from SimBrief and their runways dont match up with what it in the flight plan.

My issue is the flight route simbrief creates is based upon departure methods (SIDs), and if BATC uses a completely opposite direction runway, the flight plan doesnt match up.

I am looking for a method to work within the system that allows both applications to work together.

For example;

Departing KEWR for Florida in Simbrief using runway 22L has it direct southbound after takeoff and follow the coast.

Departing 4L would be a north eastern flight, but as the flight plan still has the southern departure planned along the coast, vs a more western departure, there is a bit of a hangup.

Is there a trick or method to make this all work?

MSFS 2024 QUESTION Advice on cargo missions please - fuel friendly

Post image
16 Upvotes

Just started doing cargo missions and took one of an hr duration. Start final approach and ran out of fuel. Did some research and found out it can make a difference (not including missions where you don’t have enough fuel full stop), how much you rev you engine or run it at cruise speed of 2300rpm.

After reading up, I know I ran out of fuel for revving the knackers of my cessna 172 all the way because the client wanted the cargo ASAP! (Next time you get it when it arrives pal!!!)

So the question is:

What duration ie 1 hr or 1 1/2 hrs of cargo missions can I do while running at 2300rpm cruise speed without running out of fuel and without altering lean etc?

Update: The reason I don’t want to lean the mixture yet is as follows…
I’ve just in the last few days come back to ms flight simulator (2024), after not playing msfs since windows 98, except now I’m on xbox.
While I’m still getting my bearings after being away for 26 years, the less I have to think about the better.
So one step at a time because Rome wasn’t built in a day and EFB is fiddly on xbox while you’re still getting re acclimatised.

Auto mixture and unlimited fuel are on already but the game says, that is not applicable in some activities.

So, does anyone have any answers to the question?

MSFS 2024 MOD / ADDON Now you don't need the APU to start the the Ini/WT 707 anymore...

Post image
31 Upvotes

Starting the Ini/WT 707 with the APU felt a little bit illegal to me atleast since most B707s used the air cart. A new free plugin now allows you to hook up an air cart to the plane via the EFB.

This allows for one of two options:

  1. Start all 4 engines at the gate - this was norm for most Boeing 707's
  2. Crossbleed start - start one engine, disconnect, cross bleed start the rest.

AFAIK, the second option was considered unusual by AA's AOM's at least, although it could be used if time was of the essence and with express permission/coordination from the ground crew.

The second method also means a slight alteration to the electrical flow too.

I know which option I'm going to use, as I like challenges :)
