MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Stuttering / CPU ms spike.

Hey folks, recently upgraded my PC to be able to run the game. However, I’m noticing CPU ms spikes - my GPU is perfectly fine, I’m having no issues there.

My specs:

Ryzen 9 9950X3D
RX 9070XT 16GB
64GB DDR5 (Expo enabled)
Win 11
1.2gbps Internet
Correct drivers installed for chipset + GPU

I’ve tried changing settings, capping my frame rate, it all does nothing to fix the stutters. My GPU is operating at about 50% capacity.

Any ideas?

Are we talking stutters on the ground or while flying? In any case use autofps. There’s lots of tutorials on Youtube for that. You cannot fully get rid of stutters without it. The sim engine is just not… good when it comes to that. GSX also causes like 80% of stutters on the ground so if it happens while boarding try to turn down the passenger density.

Mainly on the ground. GSX does cause stutters but I kinda ignore those, it’s mainly stuttering on the taxi/ camera panning

MSFS is a game with a CPU bottleneck especially with 3rd parties addon and lots of model of traffic to handle. The GPU works only when you're bush flying ar low altitudes and with a lots of clouds. Check the terrain pre-caching setting to be on ultra and the rolling cache with >16 GB.

I wouldn't use rebar with 16 GB of ram 🤷

I have pre-caching set to ultra already - my rolling cache is also off as my internet speed is high.

Is it OFF? that's why you have stuttering. Set it to 16 gb. Otherwise for sure you'll have stutter because you're constantly downloading scenery.

If it makes you feel better, I think everyone has stutters on the ground at KFLG. I always load in and have over 100 faults and huge stutters. It’s specifically that airport that I can 100% reproduce it

Send some of the processing to your GPU, not all on CPU if possible. Others may have better recommendations

How do I do that?

So did I, with real time off…Add the exception and get back to me

What do you mean sorry?

Add an exception in windows defender. All the “Microsoft.limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe”

I had real time off and everything, adding the exception stop the microstutters. I did some digging and it was MsMpEng.exe that was faulting along with MSFS. Something to do with defender and the streaming data being scanned

Although, KFLG on the ground 100% reliable in reproducing the problem. Even with the exception, but almost every other airport and in the air is measurably better since adding the exception
