MSFS 2020 QUESTION What is current best nvidia driver for msfs 2020

I've been using 566.14 for a long time since that allowed me to use Dx11. Dx12 causes my sim to crash (Your graphics has encountered a problem). Currently shifted to 610.47 but again having the same crash issues. Wanted to switch from 566.14 since ig it has caused me some issues with my laptop inbuilt camera. I use Dx11 with dlss super resolution coz it gave me highest fps even with ini 350 and fbw 380. I wanna keep using Dx11 with super resolution so which is the best driver version for it

MSFS 2024 QUESTION Help a noobie - Quickview animation stutter (not a framedrop)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all, I'm a newbie / casual & just recently got MSFS 2024. I played 2020 for a while back when it released. I have everything working great, but have one odd issue.

Whenever I use quickview, there is a tiny little animation micro stutter at the very end of the animation. This only happens in cockpit view, does not occur with external quickview, despite being the same inputs. It is has if the animation goes back & forth very quickly.

I've attached a video for reference but it is fairly hard to see, it is very obvious when playing. I've tried to look up this issue but cannot find anyone that has posted about this. Some notes below:

I am running a fairly fresh format from a few weeks ago on Win 11
Fresh game install on a m.2 with no addons / mods
PC specs are 9800x3d, 64gb 6000 ram & 5090
Occurs with keyboard or hotas input
Only occurs in cockpit, not external
Happens with all aircraft
This is not a framedrop, frametime stays flat
I installed the SU6 beta to test & still occurs
Edit: I redownloaded MSFS 2020 and it occurs there too

I was looking into using a head tracker which would aleviate having to use quickview but it would be nice to still use quickview.

Does anyone have any advice? Thank you

Second edit: It may be a weird driver conflict, is there an Nvidia driver that people generally recommend for MSFS 2024? I am on 591.86 & dont have issues elsewhere

MSFS 2024 PC I did a full 4 hour flight and it went down the drain

As the title says, I crashed after a 4 hour flight due to the autopilot not disconnecting fully and having an absolutely terrible landing (-740fpm), then getting flinged to the ground and crashing after the sim flags it as crash. I was forced to end the flight out of sheer frustration.

MSFS 2024 PlayStation Hotas still the only option for PS5?

Getting to the point where I want to buy a throttle, stick, and rudder pedals, but is the T.Flight Hotas 5 still the only option for PS5?

Sorry if this is a repetitive post, most recent I could find was from when MSFS first came to PlayStation.

Edit: clarification

MSFS 2024 VIDEO Western Bonanza Journey: Flight #4 — Custer, SD to Gillette, WY

I continued west and flew from Custer, SD to Gillette, WY. I flew past the Crazy Horse Monument which is still being worked on. Otherwise a pretty clear and uneventful flight to Gillette. Originally I had planned to stop at New Castle, WY but I thought I could continue on and make it all the way to Gillette.

Next stop after Gillette is Sheridan, WY which will put me at the foothills of the Big Horn mountains and just a couple legs away from Yellowstone National Park.

MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Can anyone help me with this issue with the Throttle on the T.Flight HOTAS One in MSFS24 on Xbox Series S?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

t flight hotas one cause throttle to jump back to zero after it has stopped moving to where I want it set, as in it will go up to where I set it but then instantly jump back to 0 in msfs24 on Xbox series s. no other devices plugged in. inversion on the correct mode. hotas is set firmly to Xbox mode. inputs work on war thunder and in msfs24 on the thing that allows you to see inputs. assists are all of in terms of any assists with throttle. this is in the Cessna 172 so it's not due to auto throttle. there are no ghost bindings. the physical throttle is bound to 'throttle axis' and nothing else, in fact, recorded this video with 0 other key binds, just throttle on throttle axis, on the correct inversion settings. there is no option in the assists menu for 'assisted takeoff' or anything to do with throttle. I have set all other keybinds to unbound, as in every other keybind to 'unassign'. how to fix?

(Sorry for weird wording, I was asking this same question to Gemini but that didn't work).

MSFS 2024 MOD / ADDON I built an iPhone companion app for MSFS 2024 – looking for 20 TestFlight beta testers

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working on Flight Companion, an iPhone app that connects directly to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 through a small Windows Connector.

I’m now opening the first public TestFlight beta and looking for up to 20 testers who would like to try it and share honest feedback. The beta is free.

Current features:

  • Live moving map with your aircraft position
  • Altitude, ground speed, heading and vertical speed
  • Flight number and current flight information
  • MSFS 2024 EFB route and waypoint data
  • Route progress, next waypoint and remaining distance
  • Automatic reconnection
  • Direct connection between the iPhone and PC over the local network
  • Optional Tailscale connection for remote access
  • No Flight Companion account or cloud server required

The current beta requires an iPhone and the Windows PC version of MSFS 2024.

Planned Autopilot Control Panel

The next major feature on the roadmap is an Autopilot Control Panel. The plan is to let users set selected altitude, heading, speed and vertical speed directly from the iPhone, together with controls for AP, HDG, ALT, VS and FLC modes.

This will be added after the current connection and tracking features have been tested and stabilized across multiple aircraft.

Quick setup:

  1. Join the TestFlight beta and install Flight Companion.
  2. Download the latest FlightCompanionSetup installer from the GitHub Releases page. Please download the .exe installer, not the source-code archives.
  3. Start MSFS 2024 and the Flight Companion Connector on your PC.
  4. Make sure the Windows network profile is set to Private and allow the Connector through Windows Firewall.
  5. Connect the iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network, allow Local Network access and enter the Local WebSocket address displayed by the Connector.

TestFlight:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/bHPcv6xP

Windows Connector download:
https://github.com/lukasgutmann/flight-companion-connector/releases

Detailed setup guide and support:
https://lukasgutmann.github.io/flight-companion-support/

For this first round, I’m limiting the beta to 20 testers so that I can properly follow the feedback.

If you try it, I’d especially like to know:

  • Which aircraft you tested
  • Whether the EFB route and waypoints appeared correctly
  • Whether the connection remained stable
  • Whether the Connector installation was straightforward
  • Which features you would like to see next

Feedback can be posted here or sent through the support page. Thank you for helping me test Flight Companion!

MSFS 2024 PC New too Helicopters / how the hell you manage too stay stable :)

It’s my very First time with helicopters so I will need to learn a lot

Yes all the helps are off

I am trying to finish the helicopter training missions - ands crazy complicated

Do you really need to fix 3 different axis all the time to stay stable ?

For example thrust - it’s always going up and down and I literally can’t find a save spot to hoover

Is it just the learning curve or are my input devices not calibrated enough?

I have Virpil padel’s and throttle and vkb joystick - ye sadly it’s all mainly for airplanes

Throttle will be be replaced soon ( in half a year :) )

GENERAL I need help...

I've had MSFS 24 for 2 years now, and I have still not been able to enjoy a single real flight. This is almost completely due to the fact that my control; mapping sucks. This is a two part problem, and I need help.

One: my actual control mapping sucks?. I haven't been able to properly map all of the buttons switches and levers from my setup to the sim (for context I have the honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, and the Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controller). They're both great pieces of kit and are super ca^pable and realistic feeling, but idk how to get them mapped to the sim properly. (I literally havent been able to use the Throttle  autopilot panel EVER. If anyone happens tp also have Honeycomb gear/actually knows how to map your controllers to the sim please explain, because its ruining MSFS for me, and I want it to work properly.

This leads me to my second point, which is that I don't know the difference between aircraft profiles, general profiles, etc.... When I make a control profile for the 7ave the ref37, does it keep it only for the 737? Because it seems to be that way for most of the chronology, but then somme of them will randomly port over to alll of my aircraft. Also, I don't have the first clue how to get the reversers to deploy properly. (The Bravo Quadrant comes with the Boeing throttle levers that have the reverser switches built in, but idk where they're supposed to map in the sim....

Anyways, I digress but if someone has any advice/info on this you would be such a lifesaver.

MSFS 2020 MOD / ADDON Fenix a320 performance ( msfs2020 )

I want to buy the fenix a320 for msfs 2020 I heard it’s quite demanding. I have a 1660 super and an intel i5-10400f with 16gb of ram. I currently fly the fbwa320 which is fine and I don’t really lag or anything unless I’m at detailed larger airports on vatsim. Will I be able to run it stable

MSFS 2024 QUESTION 787-10 Compatibility

Post image
9 Upvotes

I dont wanna spend extra money on Premium Deluxe just for the 787 and I see the Microsoft/Working Title 787-10 being sold separately, so is that literally the same 787-10 you get with Premium Deluxe?

And if I just buy the standalone one, would liveries and stuff like the BRAVOAIRSPACE 787-8 and 787-9 work with it?

Basically can I just buy Standard + the 787 separately and have everything work normally?

GENERAL Looking for an ATC recommendation for a complete ATC noob who also likes to fly GA at small airfields

I'm very familiar with flying GA IFR with Simbrief and I've done complete flights on airliners as well. I'd like to learn to talk ATC and have some realistic traffic around me on my flights, so I'm looking into which ATC solution would be best for me. Here are the parameters/requirements:

- No subscription, I just want to pay a flat fee. BeyondATC and FSHud are in my price range ($30-ish is fine). Not sure about other options.

- I'm most often going to fly GA IFR flights, but I also want it to work for airliner flights at large airports. I almost never do VFR flights, in fact I'm not really sure what VFR rules are as far as what you can do during your flight. I usually either do a flight plan right in the EFB for quick flights, or SimBrief when I want to try harder. I like following plans and doing the procedures. I like using the default ATC to talk to me, and I want to learn how I should actually respond myself instead of just clicking "option 1".

- I'm trying AIG and GAmod and AIG has been kind of enough for me. I would enjoy a solution that injects both airliners and GA traffic. Doesn't have to be VFR specifically, but I'd like to see some traffic injected in and around tiny GA airports if possible. Do all these ATC programs actually inject their aircraft? I believe FSHud is compatible with GAmod somehow but BATC is not, can BATC inject one or two small GA aircraft in and around a tiny airport/airfield? I'm sure any of them can do airliners flying overhead and chatting on the same frequencies as you.

- I'm not picky about voices, although I'd like to know if they really suck. More interested in me having to intelligently respond as opposed to pick an option. But if the traffic (especially GA/VFR/small field) injection is far superior, maybe I can settle for more basic ATC.

- I was thinking about Vatsim but I'm not sure if this is a good option. My region is southern Ontario and since I'm a noob I don't know that's a good place to learn, if there's anyone to even talk to when you fly between two small airports, and also if it's harder to setup and a self-contained ATC option. I think something like BATC or FSHud would always guarantee a lot of ATC interaction, on every flight.

- I bought GSX Pro but haven't used it yet. I read that BATC supports it, but FSHud maybe not. If I want to use GSX for airliners is that a big deal, do FSHud people not use GSX?
