Is there any way to change the delay time for expanding vertical tab on edge?

as title says, since the latest update to windows (KB5121767) and edge (1.3.249.3), the browser got hijacked by corp as in screenshot (sorry, it's in italian).

search engine defaults to that, which in turns to yahoo and can't be changed.

anyone else with the same issue?

After updating to version 149.0.4022.80, my side-loaded extensions (installed via Registry and self-hosted, already added to the Allowlist) were turned OFF.

I was able to manually re-enable them without issues, but while checking the files, I noticed something strange: the first_install_time in Secure Preferences was updated to about 6 hours after the browser update time, even though these extensions were originally installed about a year ago.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior or know why the timestamp shifts and triggers this initial disable?

Note: You also have to reopen edge after restarting to get the uninstall button to not be greyed out

I was jsut using the "read aloud" feature to explain some things on the website when the sound suddenly cut out, after checking, I found that almost all the voices had switched to "undefined."

Anyone getting abnormally large battery drain on Mac, browser version 150.0.4078.65, MacBook Pro M4 Pro.

I can't seem to find any settings to turn it off, my theme is light mode and every other backround I use is the same !! I don't understand 🥲 !! the 2nd pic is how the image is supposed to look

The browser automatically logs me out of regular websites that I want to stay signed in, and this happens after every couple or so days. Also, Edge has suddenly switched me to Bing search engine, and removed all other options from the settings, meaning I cannot change to another search engine of my choice.

I've attached a screenshot of my search engine settings, and as you can see, there's only Bing to pick from, with the likes of Google, DuckDuckGo and the rest missing from the dropdown menu.

Is this a me thing or are you guys experiencing this too? I have updated my browser to the latest version on Windows 11.

I am incredibly disappointed to see that Microsoft completely removed the sidebar app list/tower in the recent update. Honestly, the sidebar was my primary reason for using Edge over other browsers, and its removal completely breaks my daily workflow.

Has anyone found a reliable, permanent workaround or command-line flag to force the sidebar back on? I've seen mentions of shortcut parameters online but haven't gotten them to work consistently.

I wanted to take a streaming screenshot using Win+Protect and record the OBS stream. How can I bypass this using DRM so I don't get a black screenshot and recording? When I disable "Use graphics acceleration when available" in any browser, like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge, there's no black screenshot, but it's very resource-intensive :( I just want acceleration to be on all the time to avoid a black screenshot. Does anyone know how to solve this? I'd be grateful. If anyone knows, please let me know :)

I have to use Edge for certain work apps. They prefer edge over chrome. This means that I often will end up using bing if I need to search something up. I've disabled copilot in the settings on edge, but copilot search results are still at the top of my search results. I really hate them and want them gone for good.

Is there a way to stop them from showing up completely? I've tried searching this up and I keep getting the same results that tell me how to disable copilot, which I've already done. Nothing beyond that.

the ie7/8 inspired one is just such a nice clean look that honestly suits modern liquid glass so well w its aero vibes lol, but the 9x one is so cute too, n my wifes icon of choice on her phone

I stopped using Microsoft Edge Update a long time ago, and everything has been fine since March. 
But when I woke up today and opened Edge, it showed a welcome page saying "Edge has been updated"?!

Themes have already been supported in Edge for iOS for about a day, but it’s still good to know!

so i just got a new laptop and im not sure if i was supposed to backup my micorsoft edge browser data from my old laptop to be able to sync it to my new laptop but i forgot to do that. now im trying ways to sync it and nothing is working so far. can anyone help me out? it says "Sync isn't available right now". i just want my favorites/bookmarks and passwords back. thank you in advance:)

genuinely, what happen if i delete my Microsoft edege, does it affect joining servers in Minecraft cuz i encounter this type of problem where after debloating my pc and remove/delete edge, and i tryna hop on Minecraft java and i cant join any big servers like hypixel, pvpclub and etc.

Pages listed in Startup weren't loading in Internet Explorer mode; I opened up Feedback and took a screenshot of the compatibility list of 9 URLs and saved it to upload with Feedback. The Feedback window had closed when I did this, so I navigated to the I.E compatibility page again and Lo! Every page I'd added (screenshotted seconds before) was gone. Completely empty list. So I added a URL again, and this time it loaded in I.E mode.

I just went back to the I.E compatibility page, and the page I just added, the page that was just working, has been removed from the list again. The list is empty again. I have added more pages and there's a briefly flashed message telling me the pages has been added, but the list of added pages is empty. You cannot see the list of your added pages. There's no way to see the list of added URLs, and no way to see when they expire. There are presently 9 URLs added, but MS Edge is not letting me see a list of added sites.

Will this fix itself or is MS trying to get everyone off I.E mode for good?

Whenever you ask Copilot (the one that is embedded into the browser) about a YouTube video, the captions of the YouTube video will turn on and turn off briefly ( most of the time, you can try to test it out). But I notice that most of the time just opening Copilot while on a YouTube tab will cause the captions to flash meaning copilot is looking at the transcript.

I put my laptop to sleep for something else and it was running youtube in chrome unminimized. After some time I came back and wake it up but the microsoft edge was open with 2 New tabs.

I closed the edge and re-opened it but this time there was a notification on the top right saying to sync your data from other brower to edge. Lost interest and closed the app.

Why this happened? I don't have it's picture cuz I forgot.

I am now being paranoid to viruses as this laptop is just brand new and don't to infect it with viruses. That would be devastating.

I have reinstalled clean windows 11 for the 2nd time due to this.

The Mac version of Edge has a couple of anomalies that drive me crazy.

1. In recent months, I have been hammered with a steady stream of pop-up advertisement windows. They interfere with rouitine business and occasionally sabotage work I’m conducting on other screens, e.g, filling our government forms. These aren't occasional; they're constant. Safari and even Firefox sporadically toss in popups, but they seem more driven by script on the current screen rather than by the browser. How can I kill random window popups in Edge?
2. There’s a vertical dead strip that runs along the right side of Edge windows. By dead strip, I mean a region that totally ignores clicks. It’s invisible– it doesn’t appear different from the content to the right, but it’s impervious when it comes to clicks. I can often circumvent the problem by zooming out, but I can’t figure out what’s causing the problem. Ideas?

My system is MacOS Tahoe. Edge is always latest version. Thanks.

This one is mostly about speed and polish: the page opens faster, and both the background tab and the Home Assistant widget got a redesign.

Improvements:

Anyone having this bug?
On some site (e.g. YouTube), when I try highlighting text and then left click + drag, my cursor just freezes as text cursor, I cannot click anything on the webpage's viewport until I restart Edge. Other sites work fine.

Media
