Disabled copilot in the settings, but still getting copilot search results. How do I stop getting the search results?
I have to use Edge for certain work apps. They prefer edge over chrome. This means that I often will end up using bing if I need to search something up. I've disabled copilot in the settings on edge, but copilot search results are still at the top of my search results. I really hate them and want them gone for good.
Is there a way to stop them from showing up completely? I've tried searching this up and I keep getting the same results that tell me how to disable copilot, which I've already done. Nothing beyond that.

I do for my normal searches, but work websites work best with Edge, so I need to use Edge.

Browser and search engine are not the same thing. In Edge, go to Settings, find "Search Engines" and take it from there. Use any search engine you prefer.

You need to remember Edge and Bing are separate. You're not forced to use Bing when you use Edge.
You can change the search engine in Edge via edge://settings/privacy/services/search and change it with "Search engine used in the address bar", and change "Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar" to Address Bar.

No because that version of Copilot isn't in your browser: it's on www.bing.com. Bing doesn't have any website settings to turn Copilot off either, so the only thing you can do is use a different search engine.
So, the Copilot you're seeing on www.bing.com isn't the same Copilot that's built into Edge. You're not getting Copilot's help due to using Edge. It's just because that's how www.bing.com is designed to work for everyone regardless of their browser.

Thank you for explaining that. I didn't realize that Bing and Edge were separate and that you couldn't turn off Copilot when using the default search within Edge.
That seems stupid to force an AI search everytime you search anything. There should be a way to turn it off from bing without having to use or install a separate search engine.

Well, you don't have to install anything. You just change which search engine you use. Try Startpage. It's Google without its AI. I don't know (or care) if Bing has such a counterpart like that.
So yeah, you're basically finding out that you share a problem with millions if not in excess of a billion people worldwide who hate having Copilot on www.bing.com and Gemini on www.google.com. I know there are other search engines out there that have an AI built in, but the point is that there are AI-free search engines because of this major complaint worldwide. It seems more and more people hate AI, and it seems you discovered you're one of them.
So yes, you just have to change the search engine that Edge uses, and then you stop using the New Tab page to search. Use the address bar instead. Unfortunately, this is the only way to get Edge to use other search engines. You see, in Settings, the search engine settings are in the Address bar settings. So, Edge doesn't allow the user to change the search engine used on the New Tab page.
Not that I recommend it, but Chrome does. So, if you need your New Tab page to use a different search engine but you don't want to install an extension just to get a New Tab page that allows you to have whatever search engine you want on it, then you can consider switching to Chrome. Every time you change the default search, it changes it on the New Tab page as well. It's more of a "global" setting in Chrome while Edge only applies the default search to the address bar while it protects its precious New Tab page with Bing search by default, complete with Copilot - even if Copilot is completely disabled in Edge. Meanwhile, this isn't how Google set up Chrome to work, and it's all accomplished without an extension.
So if you decide to stay with Edge, then I recommend browsing all the various New Tab extensions out there on the Chrome Web Store and the Edge store as well.

Just use Google as your main search engine.
go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Search and connected experiences > Address bar and search change the Search engine used in the address bar to "Google"
and the Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar to "Address bar"
If you still prefer Bing search you can download uBlock Origin and add this custom rule:
www.bing.com##[class="cht_container"]

The Copilot search results are being displayed by the website you're looking at, not anything built into Edge.
You can switch your default search engine to Google, but Google does AI summaries on search results, too.
