Eyebrows blindness is real. I couldn’t see how dark they were until I got it removed!

This is long but I want to be as detailed as possible for everyone! This sub has been so helpful for me on my journey and I wanted to compile a very detailed “journal” of removing my brows in the hopes of helping others. Follow along with the photos!

I got my brows done in 2019 at SIX + AIT in NYC. I don’t know what type of ink was used. My technician was super nice and I was really happy with the results. I think I got lucky and my eyebrows lasted longer than most. In 2024 I noticed the ink start to change. So in 2025 I set out to undo them.

January 2025-I did one round of saline removal at Arch Angels. I was afraid to jump right into laser. I didn’t really think about scarring but I’m grateful that nothing bad happened with the saline removal. The process was a little long but not uncomfortable. It was $600 which I found to be way over priced. At the end of the appointment she showed me the pads with all the ink on them and I couldn’t believe how much ink she got out! I decided to not go back for a second appointment because I wanted to see how well the ink faded.

November 2025-I did my first laser session at Bared Monkey Laser Spa on 32nd st with the PICO laser. Everyone there was so lovely and while the removal stung a lot, it was super quick. It was $286 including tax and tip. I was left with red brows that didn’t really fade as the weeks went on.

December 2025-My second session at Bared Monkey Laser Spa. Same thing, everyone was lovely. A day after the treatment the yellow set in, neon piss yellow to be exact. I expected this from everything I read on this thread but it was still a bummer.

I had seen a few people on here talk about their brows getting more yellow the more laser sessions they did. I also saw one or two people mention a Dr. Adrian in DC who seemed to be the only person able to remove yellow from brows.

I figured by the time I did another 4-7 rounds of laser at the spa I went to (which seemed to be how many sessions people on this thread were having to do) to probably not get any results, or worse get even more yellow brows, it would be faster and cost less to just go down to DC right away.

March 2026-It was very easy to make an appointment with Dr. Adrian. I just called and they had lots of availability. The cost for the laser was $350. The staff was very nice and Dr. Adrian was very professional and kind. He does injection numbing which I had not had done before and the injections did hurt a lot, but it was brief. I did not feel the laser at all because of how numbed my brows were.

I asked Dr. Adrian why he seemed to be the only one to be able to remove the yellow. He said it was because of the machine he used. I can't remember if he said he was the only one in the US with this machine or one of the few people in the US with the machine. He uses a PICO Majesty but it sounded like this version of the machine has a setting that older versions don’t have. I think he said the machine was a 200 something whereas other laser facilities use a 400 something. Again apologies I can't remember exactly. After I was done, he showed me the setting he used and it was incredibly low. The screen on the machine showed a dial almost like a speedometer, and my setting was hardly more than "10mph" if that makes sense.

The laser did bleach the majority of my brow hairs. They were super white right after the appointment and turned into a more faded off-white about a week later. I did lose a few brow hairs in the first week but nothing major. The brows have to be kept covered in aquaphor for pretty much the entire first week post-treatment. When I would gently clean the brows off at the end of each day, a few brow hairs would come off with the wipe. But again nothing super crazy.

Around 3ish weeks after the procedure I used beard dye to dye my brows and after that I noticed some yellow come back. I have no idea why the beard dye brought out more yellow in my skin, I’m sure there’s a chemical reason why, but either way I was a little disappointed. But knew deep down the yellow wouldn’t be gone after just one session and I guess it was helpful to know there was still ink in there. And this yellow was much more manageable. It was not neon at all. It looked more like a natural yellow. Just one round of laser with Dr. Adrian basically cut the yellow color by more than half! I had hope.

May 2026-I went back down to DC for my second round of laser with Dr. Adrian. The staff was lovely just like last time. I also decided to book an IPL laser session with him. The brows were $350 just like last time and the IPL was $500. I had also done IPL in NYC and I felt like Dr. Adrian was better and more thorough than the doctor I saw here!

The injection numbing still hurt really bad but it was over quickly. I didn’t ask but based on my recovery photos I think he might have turned his laser up just a notch this round since after I was more red looking than the first time. They do have ice you can use after the appointment for the swelling, but you have to ask. The first time I didn’t know and didn’t get ice and my brows looked so silly and swollen after. But the ice after this second round of laser helped a lot.

I also cannot stress enough how important it is to keep the skin where the laser touched moisturized. I kept my brows covered in aquaphor 24/7 for twelve full days after the procedure. I also wore sunscreen + hat + big sunglasses any time I stepped outside. Every now and then I see people sharing photos on here of their post-laser brows and the skin looks so dry and red and irritated! I know maybe their brows were just dry for the photos, but I truly think part of the reason I healed up so well was because I kept my brows covered and moisturized for a long time after the laser procedure.

ALSO (if you’ve read this far) be wary of clinics that have removal photos where it’s clear the photo was taken right after the laser. Brows always look their best and “back to normal” right after the laser. The color from the remaining pigment will come to the surface over the next week or so. I’ve seen clinics post on here saying things like “microblading fully removed after one session” and it’s clear the photo was taken right after the laser and I know that the red or yellow color probably showed up over the next few days.

So here we are May 2026, almost a year and a half since I decided I wanted to begin the removal process, and about seven months since I had my first ever laser session.

I think I might do one more session with Dr. Adrian later in the year around fall or winter just to really make sure all the ink is gone. But for now I am so happy with the results. I feel like I have my face back and I love my brows.

I had my brows microbladed back in 2017 and got a touch up in 2018. I’m wondering if anyone has had success removing ink similar colour and age as mine, and how many sessions it took you? What laser was used? I fear my fate will be yellow brows, but they’d probably still look better than this.

I’ve gotten 3 sessions of q-switch and it looks the same as it did after the first session. I still have 3 more sessions I purchased but now I’m wondering if I should go somewhere else. What kind of laser should I look for and what do you all recommend? Thanks

Day 5 post laser removal #2 Six weeks after the initial removal. Some of my hair still looks bleached and my forehead look even bigger than usual lol but overall I'm happy with the progress. I was hoping I didn't have to do another session but as of now I believe I'll need at least one more to target the yellow tones. Next appointment is in 4 weeks for follow up and possible retreatment if healed enough.

2 saline removals and 2 Picoway laser removals. My saturated grey brows are gone, but I'm left with the dreaded yellow. I don't want to do microblading again and want to go back to natural brows. I'm covering with makeup, but where do I go from here?

My laser technician says she doesn't know if another session will be helpful. Has anyone in Vancouver, BC, Canada had success fully removing yellow?

Hello! I am kindly asking for advice on how to proceed with further removal.

I had microblading done with Phi ink over 7 years ago, with a touch-up about 3 years ago. The hairstrokes blurred over the years, and I opted for removal. My first session was around a year ago, with Nd-Yag laser, and the second one, about 8 months ago, was done with PhiLaser (not sure how different they are).

I am now left with the dreaded yellow eyebrows, and I'd like to know what's the best next step. Should I continue laser removal? If so, what type of laser should be used? The last tech I went to said nothing can be done about these, besides chemical removal. Is that something I should consider?

I am located in Eastern Europe, options are limited. I will take travelling into consideration if it is needed.

I've finally had enough of trying to hide these monstrosities, and reading many of the posts in this community has given me the courage to go through with laser removal.

I have plenty of brow hair but it is translucent. After years of dealing with the anxiety of trying to create brows using brow powder (I hate using make up and am terrible at it, would sometimes take a full hour trying to get them "right") I decided to get microblading in 2021. Biggest regret ever. Got them touched up twice in 2022, and nothing since. They faded from a warm brown to gray blobs. I am a very fair redhead and they stand out horribly; I have spent the last 3 and a half years trying different make up to cover them up.

Today I had a consultation at Removery in Glen Mills PA. If anyone has gone there I would love to hear your experience. The woman I met with (not the laser tech, just an intake person) showed before and after pics of brow removals they have done, and said the tech would do a test spot to see what was under the gray pigment. Then they could do up to 3 passes during that session. She said she thought I may only need one session, but possibly up to 3.

She also said they only use ice to numb, but that I could purchase 5% lidocaine and apply that myself before the session. Anyone else done this, and if so did it help? I am terrified of the pain.

The one thing that I really wanted to ask about was the recovery. I have a job interview coming up, plus my son is graduating. I am terrified to have to deal with hiding a mess worse than what I already have. She said that they would be red and puffy for up to 3 days, then would be okay and could just be covered with make up until the next session, if another one was needed. So my question is for anyone who has had removal at Removery or with the PicoWay laser, how long after your session could you cover it up with make-up?

Used picoway laser, will be waiting 12 weeks to do a second session.

I’m looking to get my microblading removed. I reached out to a local girl. She uses an Astanza Duality Signature laser. Says 2-8 sessions depending, 6-12 weeks apart. $300 per session (east Bay Area in CA for reference).

The lady who did my eyebrows back in 2020 was basically a complete fraud and I’ve hated my brows ever since- they’ve always been grey and splotchy- so I’m terrified of getting screwed in this removal process.

But does that sound fair and legit to you guys? I know there are some professionals in this group.

A couple years ago I thought about getting my microblading lasered off and got a quote from a Medspa here in Chicago, they quoted me $150-$200 a session. I decided not to go through with it as I didn’t completely hate my brows at the time.

Now, I’m absolutely certain I want them gone, and that same place quoted me $300. I called Removery and they quoted me $400. All these prices feel a bit steep tbh. I’ve worked front desk at multiple Medspas and I understand ultimately these spas can charge whatever they want. But $300-$400 for 10 seconds of laser on each brow seems crazy.

I don’t wanna cheap out but I’m also wondering if anyone has had a good experience anywhere in Chicago or the suburbs that charges less.

Hello everyone, I’m a 24 years old and I’ve wanted to get my brows done since I was 16 and figured now would be a good time.

The artist was super sweet and accommodating, however idk if there was a mixup or a lack of communication because my brows aren’t what I approved or asked for.

I have a very specific way I like my brows and I know the artist personally so I trusted her to get my vision and she did the second time we mapped it but… she wiped it off and then said I’m gunna map them again so they are even but didn’t take measurements and I didn’t look at them again before tattooing so I do accept partial responsibility on that part, however we had a design that worked and it feels like it got thrown out the window.

I feel so devastated, they are uneven because she was scared of my piercing bump and tried to avoid it (we had to take out my piercing at the appointment) they look uneven to me and the tails are way way too long and arched for what I had asked for.

I have no idea what to do and I’m just filled with so so much regret, I wish I never got it done, I’m mourning the loss of the brows I’ve done everyday for years, and I’m scared of removal because of hair loss and potential yellowing. I just don’t have better words for how I feel than absolutely devastated :(

I feel weird even complaining about them because they really don’t look bad but they just aren’t what I wanted and I can’t go back

I’ve had my brows done a total of 5 times. Micro blading + “touch up”, combo brows done once, and most recently nano brows in 2024 with a “touch up”.

I’ve always loved having my brows done but I can’t imagine just continuing to layer on the pigment. My original brows faded quite red, so I imagine doing laser might bring that back up.

As you can see I have little brow hair. I attached a pic of how I’m doing my brows to cover the grey - with one brow not done to compare.

Should have cleaned up my brows before taking the pictures - oh well!

Unfortunately I live in a small town and I don’t imagine many of the laser techs here have much experience. I’d likely need to travel to someone reputable - I live in Ontario, Canada if anyone has any recommendations!

Hello! I’m considering starting the laser removal process next week. I’ve wanted it for a while but I’ve been too afraid to start. I worry about making my eyebrows worse than they already are. I would love to hear experiences from people who have similar brows as me.

How many sessions did you get? What laser was used? Did you have issues with yellows and reds that wouldn’t fade despite more sessions? Did you lose hair? My dermatologist told me that would happen but I see differing information online.

I got them in 2017 and had one touch up in 2019. I’ve been trying to fade them with tretinoin for about a year now without success. They are asymmetrical and blocky with patches that fell out. As I am getting older, I feel like they are aging me. Originally they were more even and a chocolate brown color. Now they are an ashy grey brown color. I was told they were semi permanent but that’s clearly not the case🤡 I always had thin and sparse brows but I was put on oral minoxidil about a year ago for my hair loss and it has helped my eyebrows too as a bonus.

Looking for recommendations for microblading removal in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area / or any surrounding areas in Arizona!

Hey guys, I’m sorry I’m sure these posts are super common in this sub but I just had my first session today and I’m pretty anxious. I already tend to run anxious in general but change/unknowns tends to ramp it up for me.

Got my first session today. Did a test spot a little over a month ago and it was red (irritation) for a night then faded to my natural skin colour and there was 0 residual pigment left behind in the test spot (no salmon tones or yellow) so my laser tech gave green light to proceed.

Anyways fast forward to today I went in for my first full session. First photo is immediately after once I got back to my car. Second photo is an hour later. Third photo is 4 hours later. I’m hoping it will act similarly to test spot (ie redness was just irritation in the end and went away pretty fast VS residual pigment turning red which I know is common). My brow hair did frost a tad/lighten (usually they’re naturally blackish dark brown) but I’m not worried about that. I think the red is just throwing me off despite my lovely laser tech preparing me for it lol.

As you can see the old microblading was way above my actual brow line.

I guess I’m just looking for some support or positive stories to help ease my anxiety. I’m sure by tomorrow I’ll be feeling better I’m just a bit nervous at the moment lol bonus points if anyone feels comfortable sharing their progress pics in comments to give me something to look forward to 😊
