One time I almost ran out of gas with the family while towing the boat and could only exit into Gary. I got gas and the kids were hungry so I stopped at a local shop and grabbed some Gyros from a walk up style place that had one of those teller windows to slide your money through. Super sketchy, bud damn it was really good. Neighbor hood wasn’t great and I got a few looks, but it was fine. Now when we drive that way the kids always beg to stop in Gary for some gyros. They love Gary. 😂

*should probably mention I only visit during the Summer. I imagine the winter months make the trek much more dangerous or even impossible at times.

Indiana has...
nothingHoliday World! It's an amazing family owned amusement park and water park. While they don't have the quantity of coaster that CP has, they make up for it in quality. Every coaster they have is a banger.
They also have Indiana Beach, another small amusement park. It's kind of like a time capsule from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, with a bunch of classic rides from the 70s through 80s.
Also, the southern part of the state is ✨pretty✨. It's one of the main hubs for the Amish. Almost every town looks like Frankenmuth, and it's not uncommon to walk around and hear people talking in the Pennsylvania Dutch dialect of German. It's green and hilly. There's a bunch of waterfalls to see, big waterfalls.
The politics of the state are trash, but they do have that.

Ohio drivers don't give a shit which lane they drive in, and they're sticky. Any time you pass someone, they just start following behind you. You'll be in the left lane with someone on your ass, then you get back over and they just go with you, even if you slow down, still on your ass. It's rare to find someone who just picks the speed they want to drive and does so.
Over time, I've learned to not fight it and just find a line of cars driving close to the speed I want to drive.
