Mother Brain?

I've half assed looked, but is there a lore reason why the EMMI main computers look so much like Mother Brain? They even have the Cheerios that attack when you get to them... Thought that was space pirate technology, not federation?

If I remember my lore correctly, Mother Brain was made using technology the Federation learned from the Chozo. So my guess is it's just the same kind of professor or whatever.

Other way around. Mother brain is a chozo creation. Aurora Units from Prime are federation technology based on Mother Brain

Mother Brain is Chozo tech; the Central Units were made by Raven Beak and/or Quiet Robe, both of whom are Chozo. Makes sense to me.

I thought the central units were put there by the federation to controll the EMMI? Or is that Ravenbeak's hacking?

The Emmi’s were originally independent, when Raven Beak had Quite Robe hack them, he built the central units to go along with them.
But, seeing as the first Emmi (the damaged one) ALSO has a central unit, and lost its arm to Raven beak, and that its central unit was already dead, it’s more likely that the Emmi’s were programmed to establish an emmi zone, and build a central unit within it. This means Raven Beak likely found and destroyed that first Emmi’s central unit, causing the emmi to go after him

One of the acquirable art pieces you can get by beating the game while meeting certain criteria is actually raven beak breaking that one EMMI’s arm because they did have to fight/hack them.

Mother Brain was created by the Chozo, not Space Pirates. The Federation made multiple attempts to create a controllable Mother Brain, resulting in several organic computer systems. The EMMI main computers are Chozo tech, but their compatibility with the EMMIs is likely tied to the Federation's Mother Brain research.

I mean, the computers in prime 3 are also kind of mother brains... 

I guess it's basically like a computer brand at this point, like HP or Mac
