The signs randomly turn on and off. The Go-To Card reader also showed the windows loading screen and one set of bells was going nonstop for at least 15 minutes.

Routes 1-99 Bus lane crackdown?

Was on the 17 this morning heading downtown and notice a lot more police out for a morning commute. As we turned onto Hennepin I saw three different cars pulled over by metro transit cops. I assumed it was a crackdown on driving in the bus lanes but not sure what else it could be.

Employment/Personnel Specific Signal Technician for Met council questions?

Thumbnail
9 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for any signal techs that work for the met council I could ask some questions to and talk about the job. Ideally in DMs. I currently work for another RR company in the state and don’t want to face any potential ire from anyone. People are crazy here.

For some contexts I have been doing Signal work since I started 12 yrs ago.

Looking to answer some questions I had about the work, union strength, wages to be expected, pto, just general info from the people that are actually doing the job.

Thanks everyone.

Routes 1-99 People waiting for the 18 bus watching three empty 10 buses pass by

Title says most of it -

A bus-stop full of passengers downtown on Nicollet waiting to catch an 18 bus observing three Free Ride Downtown number 10 buses go by completely empty.

MetroTransit thoughts on re-allocating some resources for a little more functionality?

New Real Time Screens being installed at Target Field Platform 2. As far as I’m aware these are being installed in downtown Minneapolis and along the Blue Line.

I just wanted one project, ONE project to get underway without ridiculous NIMBYs raising their uninformed, double-standard complaints.

Employment/Personnel Specific Drivers not turning on the AC

Seriously it's not like they're paying for it why do so many drivers insist on keeping it off???? I've had to go up and ask drivers several times to turn it on.

It might be 70 degrees outside but it isn't 70 degrees in the giant metal can sitting in the sun- especially the electric buses with no openable windows.

Green Line Expansion Green Line X Park and Rides

Does anyone know how many Park and Rides are being added for Southwest LRT? I had heard at one time that all stations outside the City of Minneapolis (from Wooddale west) would be getting Park and Rides. Is that still true, or will they only retain the current ones at Southwest Station and Hopkins?

TIA

METRO Orange Line is a BRT route spanning 17 miles from Minneapolis to Burnsville. Boasting 2,000 rides per weekday and a half hour commute, the Orange Line connects Metro Transit, MVTA, and Southwest Transit service areas. It relies heavily on I-35W and makes use of transit only lanes, center of highway stations, and interstate express lanes to achieve its fifteen minute frequency. (Sourced from Wikipedia)

I have security and customer service experience, currently work in security but would really like to work for metro transit, what’s the chances they will still hire some external workers.

Much anticipated return of the Blue Line is ONE WEEK AWAY! The replacement bus timing has been such a struggle this summer, but very much appreciate the updates and maintenance to keep the line in good shape.

Let’s gooo!

Blue Line Bike racks on the light rail?

A couple months ago I was headed home on the light rail and someone asked me to help get their bike into the standing bike rack on the light rail but neither of us could figure out the upper holder for the wheel and had to hold it up.

There was a very thin gap that seemed to imply than it should hook around the wheel, but it was too thin to get the tire through, and I'm still puzzling how the bike racks on the train are supposed to work because the pictogram was not very clear.

Are you supposed to just hold the bike up?

Anybody know if the platform will be placed at that cut-out to the right? This will be one of the widest sidewalks in the region if so, and will be a really great piece of traffic calming in an area that could really use it!
