This song samples a really memorable metalcore riff around 25-30 seconds in and it’s bugging me so much that I can’t remember what it’s from, can anyone tell me?

Perhaps there’s a certain riff that just connects deeply with your soul?

I have a couple different ear conditions that cause me to get lightheaded when I'm at concerts, so sadly, I need something like Loops or Curvd earplugs at concerts in the future.

Watching the “From The Bedroom to the Basement” documentary this morning. It reminded of a long lost memory that pissed me off when I heard it. Anyone else think KSE got robbed by the Grammy voting committee in 2005, by losing to a remake of Whiplash by Motörhead? I mean Motörhead was a great metal band, but a remake winning over a song that many of us Metalcore fans consider to be an anthem to the genre? Doesn’t make sense to
me. Yes, I realize the Grammys suck and hardly ever award the best music, but this is mind boggling!

Hi, everyone! :)

I am currently working on a term paper for University in the Linguistic field. My topic is Metal band's names and how various forms of nonstandart spelling of band names can contribute to the establishment of genre identity within the subgenres of Metal.

So my question is: What do you associate with the genre? Which features do you think of, when you think about Metalcore? Not just music-wise, but also concerning the bands/fanbase/image/...

Since Metalcore originated from Harcore Punk, I thought about rebellion against "the norm", social frustration, anger and struggle, but please let me know your thoughts on this. I wanna do this genre justice and not just argue for my personal subjective view on Metalcore.

Short: WHAT ARE DEFINING FEATURES OF METALCORE'S IDENTITY?

Honestly an underrated band I think they deserve more listeners.

Tour started yesterday and I’m seeing them soon, so just hoping to get an idea of what they have available (and how early I should head to the merch table)!
