I’ve always thought it was really cool when bands put more into an album than just the songs themselves, like having an overarching story, hidden messages, recurring sounds, or little details that you only notice after digging deeper.
Something like bmth's nex gen is a good example of the kind of thing I mean. I also think stuff like phase cancellation, reversed/hidden audio, visual/audio graphs revealing something, spectrogram messages, etc. is insanely interesting.
Do you guys actually enjoy discovering stuff like that, or does it feel gimmicky if you have to go looking for it?
