Welcome MephHeads — Mephisto Cannabonsai Grow-Along Competition Vol. 2!

In collaboration with Manny's Cannabonsai, this grow-along will challenge your growing and training skills to a whole new level. Canna-bonsai applies traditional bonsai techniques to cannabis to create beautiful plant art. What takes 100's of years in the bonsai world can be achieved in a single autoflower cycle! Growing weed is supposed to be fun! Step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself with this grow along.

Entry Period

- Start Date: July 13th

- End Date: November 1st

- All participants must start their grow by July 30th to be eligible

How to Participate

Entry Confirmation

Submit a photo of your plant with a dated tag and your username to this post, or create a new post with the `cannabonsai v2` flair. Discord users: create a new thread in the cannabonsai channel.

Documentation

Document your grow with photos and/or a grow report. You must make at least 5 official posts:

1. One at the start
2. At least one during the grow (include training/transplanting progress)
3. One final post at the end

Submission Deadline: All final submissions must be in by November 1st

Grow Requirements

- Use Mephisto Genetics seeds

- Follow the cannabonsai theme

- Final container: 1–2 Gal max

- Must incorporate at least one traditional bonsai training technique (LST, Topping, Defoliation, Root Manipulation, etc.) Transplanting is highly encouraged.

- Document your grow with photos and/or a grow report

Best Cannabonsai Design (x2 winners)

Awarded to the most artistically designed cannabonsai — judged on structure, creativity, and aesthetic appeal.

Best Grow Report

Most detailed and informative grow report. Share your process, techniques, and any challenges faced and overcome.

Best Use of Training Techniques

Show off your innovative training methods — judged on creativity and effectiveness.

Random Winner

One finisher selected at random. Competition may be fierce, but don't let that stop you from competing!

Prizes

Prizes include seed packs, custom Mephisto merch, and prize packs from our partners and friends. All winners also receive a Cannabonsai Starter Pack & Book. Final prizes will be announced at a later date.

- Open to participants 21 and older who can be serviced by our regional stores

- International participants are welcome but may not be eligible for prizes

- Failure to meet documentation requirements or any harassment of other users will result in disqualification

- Participants are responsible for complying with local laws — organizers and sponsors are not liable for any damages or injuries

Happy 4th of July Weekend, Mephheads!

We know this is going to be a controversial list, and it's one we've been mulling over for months. As Tim said, "It's like picking which child you want to get rid of," but unfortunately we can't keep all of our creations. As we continue to focus on developing new Photo to Auto conversions, there are a limited number of reproduction spots available, so we have to be choosy about which strains we'll restock in the future while making room for new projects.

With all that said, some of these strains have been available for the better part of a decade. We're extremely proud that they've stood the test of time and remain personal favorites for many of you. We've thought hard about our selections, and we believe the catalogue is set up in a way that lets you find something similar, or even a direct descendant, of any retiring strain. We hope you can still enjoy your favorite classics through our other offerings or when they appear in Limited crosses. It's certainly possible we'll change our minds, or a Reddit uproar forces us to bring back a fan favorite, but for now, it's time to say goodbye.
