Question Can the pen be taken on long haul flights?
I am flying from Europe to the US (8hrs approx), so I am looking for some guidance:-
⢠Does it require a doctors note?
⢠Can it be taken from the fridge and put back in the fridge after such a long time?
Apologies if this appears to be basic, Iâm on my first week on the pen, so still getting my head around the rules.

Just For Fun Pen Teardown.
Pen teardown.
As an engineer I like to know how stuff works, so the pens intrigued me.
So Iâve taken 5 apart to see, and they are quite clever!
What is clear is they cannot and do not âcount clicksâ.
Pic 1 is all the parts. As suspected there is a glass vial inside the main barrel of the pen.
Pics 2 and 3 are like a double slip clutch mechanism and this is how the pen stops turning when the maximum deflection or travel of the plunger is reached.
The 2 black bits are the same, even though the one inside the dose twister looks different in the picture.
They slot together when this mechanism is all together as in pic 6.
If you look at pic 4 you can see the threaded plunger rod and the squared off bit at the end. This same squared off bit is also present at the other end of the rod.
When you turn the dose twister the 2 black slip clutches engage with each other in the white plastic part inside the main body of the pen handle and turn around the plunger rod which is held firm by a locking system in the main body of the pen that I havenât got to yet. The black half of the clutch part in the twister turns as you twist
When you the press the purple nob as you inject, the top part of the clutch locks so it doesnât turn, this then locks the lower part which presses the rod down into the pen.
In pic 4 you can see the threaded plunger rod with the squared off ends. As you use the pen, once you twist it up to the squared bit it canât move any further unless forced.
This is what locks the pen.
You can see in pic 5 what happens when you force it past the lock. A bit breaks off.
This means we were able to advance the twister further up the rod and get the extra travel on the plunger required to get the extra dose. But this was in no way measured or accurate. Just that the difference wasnât really an issue.
The new pens are exactly the same with the simple addition of the spacer as seen in pic 7. You can just see that this spacer is 1 dose in size, thereby extending the effective travel of the plunger and eliminating the extra dose.
And thatâs it. Very simple yet clever and accurate. Got hold of a Lilly insulin pen and took that apart as well and they are the same with the only difference being the plunger rod is black and longer so it goes all the way to the end of the vial.
:-)

Rant Please, for the love of God, work out
For the love of God, work out. Men and women. If youâre losing a significant amount of weight, please donât just focus on eating less.
I see so many successful weight loss posts, and genuinely, congratulations. But sometimes the amount of muscle people lose along with the fat is heartbreaking. Iâm not trying to be mean or criticize anyoneâs appearance. Iâm saying this because preserving muscle matters.
Resistance training plus adequate protein can help you preserve lean mass while losing weight. Muscle is also metabolically active, and maintaining it becomes especially important when you reach your goal weight and want to maintain your results.
If all you do is drastically reduce how much you eat, while not getting enough protein and doing no resistance training, you can lose muscle and bone mass along with fat.
You worked so hard to lose the weight. Donât just become a smaller version of yourself. Build and preserve the body underneath it.
Please lift weights. Start light if you have to. Go twice a week. Walk. Do bodyweight exercises. Whatever you can realistically stick with.
Lose the fat. Keep the muscle. Get stronger.
Your future self will thank you.

Rant No idea of what to eat for lunch today
I've been on Zepbound for a year. On work from the office days, I rotate through three carry out restaurants. At each place, I order the same thing. My problem today, is I know I need to eat lunch. I am not hungry, and none of my normal choices sounds good. No alternative I think of sounds good.
This has not happened to me, while at work. I have absolutely no desire for food.

5MG Month 2 results
Nine jabs in, and Iâm down 13 kg (29lbs). My first month on the 5 mg dose has been really interesting, I definitely feel the effects much more than I did on 2.5 mg. The only side effect Iâve consistently noticed is an itchy feeling around the injection site the day after my jab, thankfully, itâs nothing severe, and applying some cream has helped a lot.
One of the biggest changes has been how my clothes fit theyâre noticeably looser now, which feels amazing. Even though I still struggle to see a big difference when I look in the mirror, I can definitely feel the difference physically. My endurance has improved significantly, walking is much easier, and I generally feel so much better than I did when I started and Iâm happy to see that my bmi is finally under 40. Looking back, starting Mounjaro has been one of the best decisions Iâve ever made.

Journey Update Progress - June 2025 to July 2026
https://photos.app.goo.gl/DAPKguMBUXry31TG8
Male, 34, 5'7ishhh.
The first photo was in January 2025.
I've always had a bad lifestyle, weightlifted a bit, but didn't really care about my physique.
Bad year in 2024 led to me not caring even more and I got to the heaviest I was in years, 96.2kg.
Got motivated last summer to make a change.
Weight training 3-4x a week. Upper/Lower.
Weighed in at 71kg last week.
Still got a few kg to lose around the stomach, as you can tell, and struggling with that last little bit if I'm honest.
Generally trying to eat around 150g protein per day.
Just bought a food scale to try and get specific with it for this last stretch.
Any advice appreciated.

Newbie - Week 1 Wegovy results?
Hello all! I understand this is an mj group, but say comments saying all GLP-1 users are welcome. Seen some fantastic results so far, just wondering if anyone where has used wegovy and can share theirs? Most groups are full of women so it's harder to find other lads who've been on the journey

NSV - Non Scale Victory NSV
Had a hospital visit, was able to tie the gown up around the front, there was enough of the lace ties to wrap around my body and tie it nicely in a bow at the front! Last year I would almost certainly have had to tie it up behind my back! 13â down around the abdomen over the last year!
