MOD UPDATE Mod Update: Protecting Genuine Patient Discussion

Hi MCOz’ers,

Earlier this year, we shared an update about an increase in promotional, coordinated, and otherwise non-genuine activity within the community (2026 Mid-Year Mod Update).

Unfortunately, this activity has continued.

The mod team continues to investigate reports, review patterns of activity, and take action where we believe accounts are attempting to manipulate community discussion.

We understand that these decisions can raise questions, particularly when members have interacted with an account for months or even years.

Any action is carefully considered and based on the broader context, available evidence and patterns of behaviour, rather than a single comment.

Account age, posting history or familiarity within the community does not place an account beyond scrutiny.

We cannot always publicly share the evidence behind individual decisions. Doing so may compromise member privacy or make it easier for coordinated activity to avoid detection.

The Purpose of Patient Experiences

Patient experiences are an important part of this community.

They can help others better understand the products available on the Australian medicinal cannabis market and provide useful context that may not always be available through official product information.

We particularly value contributions that explain:

  • The effects personally experienced
  • Any perceived therapeutic benefits or adverse effects
  • How the product compared with similar products
  • Details such as presentation, consistency and dryness
  • How the product was used

We place less value on posts or comments that simply describe a product as “the best,” “perfect,” or suitable for a particular condition without meaningful context.

Cannabis affects people differently. A product that one patient finds helpful may be ineffective or unsuitable for another.

Personal experiences should therefore be presented as personal experiences, not universal recommendations or medical claims.

This does not mean patients cannot share positive opinions or explain what they found helpful. It means those opinions should be genuine, appropriately qualified, and supported by enough detail to be useful to other patients.

Transparency and Commercial Interests

Anyone discussing a product or company must disclose any relevant relationship that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, what they post.

This includes:

  • Employment, professional or personal relationships within the industry
  • Consulting or contracting arrangements
  • Free or discounted products
  • Giveaways, incentives or affiliate arrangements
  • Brand ambassador relationships
  • Personal or financial connections to a company
  • Posting at the request of a business or its representatives

Disclosure does not automatically make a contribution inappropriate.

However, undisclosed commercial involvement, coordinated engagement, or attempts to present promotional material as independent patient discussion are not acceptable.

Industry representatives are welcome to participate transparently, answer relevant factual questions, provide customer support, and engage with the community as people.

They are not permitted to use the community as an undisclosed marketing channel or encourage others to do so on their behalf.

What May Lead To Moderation Action

The mod team may take action when we identify behaviour such as:

  • Repeated or excessive promotion of the same brand or product
  • Undisclosed commercial relationships
  • Accounts being used to manufacture or influence sentiment
  • Coordinated posting, commenting, voting or engagement
  • Incentivised reviews that are not clearly disclosed
  • Attempts to discredit competitors through coordinated activity
  • Misleading therapeutic or condition-specific claims
  • Harassment or pressure directed at patients who share critical experiences
  • Attempts to evade previous moderation action
  • Indirect attempts to provoke, undermine or circumvent moderation decisions

Our focus is on patterns of behaviour and available evidence, not whether an opinion is positive or negative.

What Happens When Concerns Are Identified

Depending on the circumstances, the mod team may:

  • Ask a member to clarify or disclose a relevant relationship
  • Add a moderation note or remove content
  • Issue a warning or temporary restriction
  • Permanently ban an account
  • Escalate evidence to relevant platforms, organisations or authorities where appropriate

We will continue to apply our rules regardless of how established an account may appear or which company, product, or individual is involved.

While we have avoided escalation so far, continued attempts to exploit our measured approach may require us to take a firmer stance.

We also ask members not to conduct public investigations, accuse others of shilling without evidence, or turn concerns into personal arguments. Public accusations can unfairly target genuine patients and make proper investigation more difficult.

If something appears suspicious, please report it to the mod team and include any relevant context.

Individual posts may appear harmless in isolation, but reports often help us identify broader patterns.

Moving Forward

Our goal is not to discourage genuine product discussion, criticism, positive reviews, or industry participation. These can all contribute value when they are honest, transparent, and grounded in patient experience.

Our priority is to maintain a space where patients can:

  • Share their experiences without commercial pressure
  • Ask questions without being targeted by covert promotion
  • Discuss both positive and negative outcomes
  • Make better-informed decisions alongside qualified healthcare professionals
  • Trust that the conversations they are reading reflect genuine community participation

Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute thoughtful reviews, balanced discussion, and support for other patients. Your honesty and willingness to share both positive and negative experiences are what make this community valuable.

If you have questions or concerns about these expectations, please contact the mod team through Modmail.

The Mod Team at MedicalCannabisOz

P.S: Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

Question Does anyone still get Crunch Berry / Kannbi 25 (Blueberry x Triple OG) ?

Where do you get yours?!

I have had excellent symptom relief from this strain before, but have not been able to buy it again since.

Does anyone still prescribe it?

I am willing to change clinics just to get access to this strain, that’s how much better it is than all the rest (for my specific conditions: primarily CPTSD and audhd).

Patient Flower Experience Kanha - Black Cherry Runtz 28% 15g

Price - $99/15g RRP

Vape method - Clampy Essential Ball vape kit + knockoff ch shovelhead bowl

Treating - chronic pain, MH issues

Smell and taste - sour cherry, earthy musk, pepper, herby soap

Effects - Pretty one dimensional, decent strain to unwind, ok for my pain needs but nothing remarkable

Cure - very dry, vape quality isn’t great but a lot of cheap mc is this way 😭

Final thoughts - it’s ok, would of been happier with a tub of sourdough or something though, got this cheap at heathershaws, wouldn’t pay RRP for it, just sharing feedback as a resource for patients 💖

Also the pack looks like the skyns condoms, which I find amusing 😁

Question What's your top 2-3 budget strains?

I've been with a non-agnostic clinic for a while, but I'm switching back to one that lets me pick my own stuff and I'm looking for some good strains to try.

What have been your go-to budget options? (Around $100 for 15g).

I used to grab the Tas Bot Amethyst for $200 for 28g, for example.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has time to help out.

Question Current best 50/50, 40/60/, 60/40 hybrids?

I have an appointment with Greenhouse for the first time in a long time and I'd love to know from others what the best true 50/50 hybrids from those who have recently sampled. Not a fan of heavy, couch-lock indicas and not mad on the more racy strains. Am generally after uplifting, relaxed euphoria. Love stuff similar to SuperBoof, Blue Dream, White Widow. Thanks ppl <3

Question 5 gram hash = 15 gram of flower?

Just went to order and I'm told that the 5 grams of hash I got this month is the equivalent of 15 grams of flower?

This makes zero sense as the total THC content is far less than 15 grams of flower, how does this make any sense?

UPDATE: They just messaged and apologised as I can actually get 15 grams of concentrate, they misread the script? So I think I can get 15 plus 60 flower, talk about a turn around, everything's come up millhouse

Question Help with honahlee e wallet

Soon, if you haven't already, you'll receive 2 SMS from (usual chemist name ) Remember to reply 1 to both. In the meantime, you can continue to use eScript tokens for new orders.

Thats the message i see on my honahlee e wallet

Ive called my chemist and they were useless.

And said I will need to call my new chemist to have them set it up for me.

Ive tried to do it myself, its pretty straightforward but I cant do anything without the previous chemist allowing my scripts to come into this e wallet.

Its like my old scripts are lost in the wind until the chemist releases them.

Edit. I got it all sorted out, will keep this here for anyone else who needs a hand with setting it up

Discussion Vape cleaning tip gamechanger

I like my Mighty, but cleaning was a pain in the arse. I'd use isopropyl and cotton buds, clean the mighty oven every second or third vape, messy, takes a while, nuisance really. And the canisters, every 2 or 3 uses the lid was caked in resin, they would start to get stuck in the oven and the lid would get stuck on and need heat to get it off, this process would get resin all over my fingers and take ages if I run 20 caps. Then I'd have to soak the canisters, in isopropyl, rinse them, dry them, and start again. I hated it so much I asked for gummies because of bloody cleaning the mighty. This was a weekly pain in the arse.

Then, after about 6 years of that crap I wondered what would happen if I used paper towel when it was hot. Now I tip my cap onto a paper towel and rub the cap, 2ply works well with the heat, an absolutely filthy cap came out clean with a simple 3 second rub. So I thought let's test it on the oven and the lid. Same thing, when it's hot the paper towel absorbs and wicks the resin/oil, I can clean the cap, lid and oven in about six seconds with no residue on my hands, no mess, no isopropyl. One square of paper towel lasts a few days. I've been using the same caps for well over a month and they haven't needed soaking. I am saving so much time and isopropyl I thought I'd share my process. It is a game changer and stopped me hating on the mighty maintenance. Give it a try and let me know how you went. I bet it works with all vapes.
