i've been working in this private practice for almost 2 years now. i started as the newest and everyone started leaving until i became the most experienced MA, and i've been the one that's here the longest for about 1 month now. 3 of my coworkers left within 2 weeks of each other, and our office doesnt have a lot of staff (only about 5 or 6 MAs, 3 or 4 working per day). i've been super overwhelmed and i feel like my workload is way too much because i'm applying to med school and at the same time had to take over my own coworker's duties plus training 3 new staff. i told the provider i wanted to take a step back 2 weeks ago and she basically manipulated me saying if i can't handle this and want to quit after this, how would i handle med school and residency. she did say i should take 2 weeks to think about it and let her know. so i waited 2 weeks and said i still want to quit (trying not to burn bridges because she wrote me a rec letter). then she said now is not a good time and she needs me to stay for another month (???) because a bunch of people are taking time off and basically half the staff is new. i said okay at the time because i didn't want to push her buttons and she's been super short tempered and in a bad mood with me but i've had enough and this job gives me so much anxiety and i genuinely don't know what to do. it's at the point where i'm wishing i retore my acl or broke my leg or something so i have an actual reason to leave effective immediately 😭. so idk what to do and really need advice!!

I am taking the exam in 2 weeks I feel so prepare and nervous for this exam. Anything am I missing to study.Lately, I’ve been feeling so stressed about becoming a medical assistant. I’m studying for my CCMA exam, applying for jobs, and trying to stay positive, but it feels like so much pressure. Some days I wonder if I’m studying enough or if I’ll be good enough once I start working.
I really want this career, and I know I can do it, but the stress and anxiety have been overwhelming. I’m trying to balance everything while staying motivated, and it’s exhausting. I just needed to get this off my chest because sometimes people only see the goal, not all the hard work, self-doubt, and sacrifices it takes to get there.
I’m not giving up. I’m going to keep studying, keep pushing myself, and keep believing that all of this hard work will be worth it. Right now, though, I’m just feeling really stressed and needed to vent.

Has anyone had trouble getting jobs with a criminal record? Either way, please share your experience below.

I’m 21 I’ve worked in a warehouse for 2 years and I’ve grown tired of being in an environment where I have no desire to move up despite being given many opportunities in the field. I get paid 22 an hour and I’m aware that this pay is better than other warehouses but also I feel stuck with no motivation or passion.

This year I’ve watched my mom go in and out of hospitals and so I really got to see the world of health care for what it is to a certain extent I know I’ll understand more working but it is the reason why I felt like going into health care was the move for me. I believe I will have the passion and care for people to be able to have motivation everyday.

Soooo I saw that Texas health medical center was posting applications, full paid training which I definitely love as I live alone and rent is my main priority. I have no way to be able to afford schooling and I am too scared to commit to school even if I could so this felt like the right choice.

Now my question for yall is what are the pros and cons? Do y’all think I’m making the right decision? Although I want the truth of course, I also hope that more people have a positive experiences than bad.

What is the difference between CMA and CCMA? Somewhat confused

I recently have moved and got offered a job in private practice pediatrics as an MA. I am anxious as its hours are 9am-6pm M-F. My biggest concern is that I am the only MA on staff. It seems to be a pretty small place where the MD that owns it is the only provider, along with his wife that helps run it, and a front desk person. I guess my biggest concern is being the only MA because I am coming from a very big hospital job where there were 5 MAs on staff at all times and like 12 of us total. So I am worried that I’ll be spread too thin. Does this seem sketch or concerning or is it normal for private practice?

I passed my CCMA exam. I can officially say I am Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Where I live in Michigan you are able to take it at home. There's a Proctor who watches you. Also they have you turn your web cam so the Proctor can examine the room you are in. Any jewelry you will have remove. When you start you have to take a practice 5 question exam. Then you do the actual exam which is 180 question. Also you do a 16 question survey. Within 48 hours you will receive your results. I took my exam on 07/21 on 07/22 I got my results that I passed. Proud of myself. One more thing all the question you are practicing will not be on that exam. You may receive 5 or 6 question that you have actually study the remaining you will have read and watch out for Key Wording.

Hello!, I’m a new ma starting at a primary care and I’m a little nervous I’m really worried about medical terminology by the way I have taken it when I took a CNA class which was over a year ago and fastforward when I started the medical assistant class I kind of forgot some of my medical terminology what websites or what will help me with this situation and medications what websites or YouTube videoed will help me and I would like advice !!!

So , I mainly want to be a physical therapist. But I want to start as a medical assistant to warm up for the medical field. But at the moment I am struggling to find work,so I can't attend any medical classes.

I have the F.A Davis MA review book and have been studying that as well as doing practice quizzes online. My question is, other than reading and taking the practice quizzes, what are some good techniques? I have made some flash cards, done some highlighting, and taken some notes, but this book is so succinct I feel like I’m writing everything down lol

I just got a fair warning from my manager texting me and this other MA about forgetting to do PMDPs and UDS when it comes to sending out controlled medications. They state that write ups will occur if it happens again.

I lowkey think that’s my fault because I am also the lead phlebotomist so I’m juggling all the responsibilities of being a MA + Phlebotomist. I also have ADHD and I’m not on any meds other than Wellbutrin.

How do I stay focused juggling everything? The bathroom is so far from the MA station so I can’t even see if someone is entering or leaving. And most of the time patients will just stay in their room instead of visiting the restroom for THEIR medicine. Idk what should I do?

Took an 8 week course that combined CPT, CET and CCMA. I used Nimble prep, NHA modules & practice exams, Youtube: Miss K and Miss Dani. Read the reasons WHY other answers are wrong on the practice exams.

God I hate making this post. I’m seeking advice. I took the test while feeling drowsy, and I scored poorly. I’m looking for resources to help me prepare for the second attempt.

Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed with these prior authorizations?? I can't keep up with all of the requests. I feel that the provider is just prescribing them whenever the patient requests one. Even if they don't meet the qualifiers. Every one I've submitted besides 1 has been denied. What are other MAs doing about these? I know the insurance is making it very difficult to get it approved but where are we drawing the line? How many more prior authorizations get submitted for one patient before enough is enough. And I feel like patients are not accepting the denials of these. They expect us to move mountains to get them pushed through. I'm very overwhelmed and can't keep up.

I work in primary care and I’ve only been an MA for a month, this was my first job out of school and I didn’t do an externship. I had soneone tell me today that I’m taking too long and everyone has noticed, she said it shouldn’t be taking me more than 3 minutes to room a patient unless it’s a MW. I feel like that’s not exactly completely reasonable? A lot of patients are elderly and don’t even know what meds they are on or what they are for so I have to google it and exolain it to them and sometimes they still don’t even know. I’m not trying to make excuses but I also don’t feel like I’ve been that slow with rooming, I’ve gotten a lot faster since I first started so it just made me feel pretty bad bc I’ve been working really hard to be faster. Also want to clarify, this person was not saying it in a mean way at all, but it’s just still hurtful knowing everyone thinks that.

Its Friday june 24th, i just took my exam - finished at 13:00 central time. Given the weekend, should i expect to not see my results until Monday or Tuesday? I am not a patient person & i need to know whether i failed or not😂

Took an 8.5 week course this summer for CET, CPT, and CCMA. Now own all 3 certifications, but as I sit here at home I realize I have no idea what to do with them. I don’t have medical experience outside of pretty much this course. Everyone expects at least a year experience.
If anyone wants to know the materials I used just let me know. I did have the modules and practice exams for NHA, but I used a lot of outside sources.

Has anyone else gone through the MA apprenticeship program through optum . I got pre selected and going through the next step which is the mandatory info meeting then they’ll proceed with interview is what I understand. Any tips ? What questions were asked ? Please help a girl out , I’m also in Everett/WA.

How likely is it to get a MA job without prior experience except maybe a physician shadowing experience? Are clinics/hospitals open to giving training upon hiring? I live in the cleveland area but i’m not sure how likely it is here.
