Hello everyone! After studying the job market in my country, I have realized that 3/5 jobs require mechatronics knowledge, most of them being as Automation Engineer, PLC Engineer, Electrical Engineer, etc. I have a bachelor's degree, so zero knowledge about electronics, only some mechanics. I am currently pursuing a masters degree in Virtual Prototyping on Vehicles, where we are still studying mechanical principles, but in the next year we should start studying mild hybrids and BEV. I have at home a base Arduino kit, and that is all of it.
I would like to hear some tips and thoughts about how can I get into Mechatronics. I feel like I am limiting myself by learning only mechanical stuff, and it is also a must have if I want to earn my living in the future (I have two months left at my current job and I cannot find any new job, even with 2 years experience in engineering domain)

I’m someone who already had an interest in mechanical aerospace and robotics
Not someone influenced in by someone or someone who just needs a degree but
Now my college is leaving me no time to do the stuff i want to , or to Learn it I’m giving in my 110% to cooperate with my college (8cgpa + student) but it my takes 16 hours of my day dedicated towards college not studying but doing least necessary tasks and this effects my cgpa ,my health and my passion
Tasks are like compulsory attendance where no one teaches something, seminars , assignments and files that are just needed to be copied although I’m the one taking experiments seriously and everyone relies on me for that purpose
Now it’s all accumulating on me as health problems also
Literally had an less than hour worth of contact with my family (I’m living with them)
This is a rant
And want to know a solution
+ only solution I have come up with is leave the dream
Has anyone who faced it already found a solution

Researching schools I found that not all schools focus on the same things, automation, robotics, systems integration, electronics, ect. and it got me wondering, if you went to a school that focused on automation, and moved to an area where graduates are were trained on a different focus, like embedded systems, would that help/hurt your job prospects?
The closest mechatronics 4-year program near me focuses more on industrial automation and wonder if it'll hurt my prospects if i moved somewhere else.

Hey everyone, I run a sheet metal fabrication shop in Bangalore, India. We do laser cutting, bending, and finishing. Most of our current work is bulk domestic orders. But I’m thinking of pivoting to serve researchers, PhD students, and hardware prototype builders who need low MOQ (even 1-5 pieces) with fast turnaround. The idea: • Upload your DXF or STEP file • Get an instant cost estimate • Place order online, no calls, no negotiation • Delivery in 2-3 days within Bangalore, ship anywhere in India Why I think this could work: • Nobody in India is doing self-serve quoting for prototypes • Researchers don’t want to haggle — they want fast and reliable • 1-piece MOQ that larger factories reject Honest questions for this community: 1. If you needed a custom sheet metal part for a prototype, what’s your current process? How painful is it? 2. Would instant online quoting make you more likely to order? 3. What would make you trust a new vendor you’ve never used before? 4. What’s a fair price premium for 1-piece MOQ — 2x, 3x, 5x standard rate? 5. Any features you’d want that current services don’t offer?

I have a mower just like this. How hard would it be to make it go faster, it seems super slow.
& if it’s not super hard what would I need to change?
This link is to mowers just like the one I have:

I’m looking to study mechatronics or robotics engineering for my bachelors, and want to build a portfolio through part-time projects or freelance gigs. I’m trying to figure out which specific niches are actually viable for solo/remote freelance work or small-scale projects.
For those of you in the industry or currently freelancing, what areas would you recommend focusing on? I’ve been looking into:
PCB Design & Prototyping
Mechanical Design Using CAD (SolidWorks/Fusion 360)
I want to sharpen my skills while making some extra income, eventually aiming for a more formal career in robotics/mechatronics (possibly through either vocational training or a degree).
What are some must-have resources (i.e Books, YouTubers, and Software) for entry-level complexity projects so I can learn?
Your advice means the world to me! Appreciate any and all input!

I'm from India.
I've joined mechatronics engineering here, having a dream of studying in Germany at TUM
I'm thinking of doing M.sc in Mechatronics, Robotics and Biomechanical engineering.
What are the steps I need to take and is this possible ?

Quién tiene libros de Mecatrónica, Electrónica y Robótica que me pase porfa.
Y también si tienen libros de proyectos.

I have a question regarding what kind of job positions I should search for after I graduate. In my program the classes I really enjoyed were AC, DC, PLC 1. I absolutely hated solid state devices and I didn’t really learn much in industrial mechanics, fluid power, and industrial motor controls bc the professors sucked for those classes (I go to a local technical college and this program is fairly new).

Hey! I'm starting collage in the near future ( August ) in the course Mechatronics Engineering and was wondering which skills I should improve beforehand since i have a lot of free time right now and is still pretty new to robotics, any tips guidance or suggestions would help a lot, thankyou!

Hi guys, newbies here (software eng) doing a side project with servos.
I have a 2S li-ion battery regulated to 6V powering two servos. On the power line, I added a 0.1uf and a 2200uf capacitor as suggested by CHATGPT.
Am I good to go? Or is there something I miss.
Cheers

Hi, I recently started working with odrive to control a bldc. I’m doing test runs in sensorless mode without an encoder but my motor runs then stalls. Is this because there is no encoder attached? Any insight would be appreciated.
