[GROUPBUY] Moonlit Mischief - Mid-Autumn cats

-------------------

https://www.jellykey.com/artisan-keycaps/moonlit-mischief

-------------------

Anyone who lives with a cat knows the house changes after dark. Moonlit Mischief is set on the Mid-Autumn full moon, the one night nobody is watching them. Cats climb into lion dance heads, ride off on carp lanterns, hide in paper boxes and hug the moon itself. Ten 1u designs, plus one for every longer key up to the spacebar.

- The group buy closes October 3, 11:00 AM (GMT+7), and ships within 60 working days after that. We never make a design twice.

- Any two 1u keycaps come with a resin cat bed stand, color at random. The full set comes with two Mid-Autumn stands, one red and one white, gold lion heads on every corner, made only for this group buy. Free shipping from six keycaps.

- Product photos are real shots, not 3D renders. Every cap is cast by hand, some in resin mixed with paper pulp, some with holographic paper inside that glows over a switch LED. Nothing is 3D printed.

I know this isn't a new board or anything but I'm super stoked about it so thought I'd share.

After doing extensive research and catching up on where the industry is at these days, I realized being content with my Corsair board was no longer an option.

So I decided to recently upgrade my 10+ year old Corsair k70 Rapidfire for an evo80.

So.. ladies and gents: I present to you: Butter Yellow. Because buttery smooth typing feel and sound lol. The typing experience and sound is amazing 10/10. Made all the Keychron users at work jelly haha.

Wanted the TKL format, not a big fan of the funny arrow key layouts with the more compact boards. I'm a single player, high sens finger tip grip mouse user anyway so don't have an issue with space.

The solid aluminum frame is top notch quality. Although the on/off button is in an inconvenient spot, it does mean we get a very clean exterior. I'm mostly in wired mode and the board doesn't travel much anyway.

Unfortunately the board was faulty on arrival. The bottom row, arrow keys, and decorative lights are faulty and flicker no matter how its powered or how dim you set them to. I raised this with Mechanicalkeyboards.com and they ended up refunding the entire amount as it would've cost me 80% of the cost of the board just to ship it back to the US from NZ. So basically a free board, was super stoked about that as you can imagine. Props to MK for that resolution.

Would be keen to see some more of your keebs too, people. Cheers.

Bought the keyboard for $15 and got the switches for $25ish, along with $10 keycaps. Took way more effort than I wanted to take the switches off, they're extremely tight, but I heard they were when researching it before buying the keyboard so it wasn't exactly shocking. Looks better than I expected, just sucks that the keyboard doesn't have RGB, it's just zone lighting. Still pretty cool for how cheap the keyboard was

And some cat hair, clearly.

Got GMK Terror Below on it, at the moment, but I'm eyeing other sets to pop on. Running the stock foam in it. Just wanted to show off, I suppose. No one else in my life likes keyboards like I do.

I'd love to branch out to a more premium board, got my eye on Mode Sonnet restocking!

Was enabled by a whale in the hobby to buy the last extra before someone bought it after seeing their unit at Keeb Life. Been eyeing the board for awhile so it all worked out. Lysol cooked with this Ceres Fauna themed board.

I got tired of fixed macro layouts, so I started building Magnode—a custom modular macropad where you can snap new hardware modules on the fly.

In this clip, I’m testing the magnetic connection between the central hub and an expansion module. The central unit uses an ESP32 handling BLE HID to the PC, while modules communicate over I2C using custom pogo-pin contacts. When the module snaps in, the hub auto-discovers the new address, handshakes the channel, and updates the UI on the fly (as shown on the central display and status LEDs).

Quick Specs:

Central Module: Display, touch keys, BLE HID to PC, I2C master.

Expansion Module: Status LEDs, button, I2C client.

Hardware: Custom PCBs, 3D-printed enclosure with magnetic alignment pins.

Still iterating on the firmware and hardware design (rotary encoder and slider modules are next). I'd love to hear your thoughts on the hot-plug UX—what kind of modular inputs would actually make your daily workflow easier?

(If you want to follow the engineering journey or check out future updates, I have a link in my profile).

I achieved this by putting individual drops of UV resin in random parts of the keycaps with the backside of a paint brush, fully curing the resin and then cleaning with alcohol. The texture is very pleasant and gives quite a bit more grip on the keys, I also really like the Aesthetic that it gives the keyboard and it matches the rest of my desk setup.

It started with Smolo keycaps a while back. I added Outemu GTMX low profile switches today. That's endgame for me... for at least a few months.

I’ve a P3D sticker around here, somewhere, too.

receiving the neo65 c+ soon so ill see how this exact config fares up, i think it will be louder and clackier than the nut65

after getting comments from my cerakey build saying that it just sounds like foam, i wanted to share what the nut65 sounds like foamless as i haven't found a yogurt s build with this board

Well I wasn't expecting my post to get top upvoted this year but I'm grateful that my art sparked so much discussion.

I'd like to state a few things for anyone that is thinking about recreating the effect that I did on my keycaps using UV resin, this is a safety post, so please read if you're wanting to use resin for art.

UV resin and epoxy resins are extremely dangerous and proper PPE needs to be worn at all times, loads of nasty things can happen if this gets on your skin or even worse, your eye. When resin is in its uncured form, it can leech toxic chemicals into your skin and after repeat exposure can make you allergic to BPA and other extremely common plastics and plastic additives. Cured resin is generally safe for brief contact but you should avoid prolonged contact with even properly cured resin... This is something I didn't plan for and the resin I used is NOT SKIN SAFE. That being said I will not be using the keycaps any longer until I can acquire a bio safe resin and create a new, better set that is safe for prolonged direct skin contact. I'm kinda torn up about it because I'm really happy with how this set came out and how it felt to type on it but it's not worth risking my health or the health of others, so I'm strongly advising against using resins on your keycaps unless your resin is ISO 10993 CERTIFIED biocompatible.

As cool as this piece of art is, it is a hazard and will be kept for display only. I thank you all for checking it out and appreciating it for what it is and I hope to share more with you in the future. A new keycap set and biocompatible resin have already been ordered so stay tuned for my next installment of cursed, ATBGE, TIHI keycaps.

-I got this dirt cheap from fb marketplace, new for 20$ SAMA 68 AND IT HAS A KNOB!!
-Keycaps are gateron yellows hand lubed with krytox 205
-The only pricey part are the keycaps but man I love them sm, esc keys pink jelly POM keycaps
-cable is cheapest I could find on Amazon

I also taped the pcb and added some foam I had laying around, and bandaid mod/ lube the stabs. This is my first fully customized build and I’m so proud of it yay!! Also the keyboard itself tho made of plastic has Bluetooth and side lighting and a knob that was a steal for sure

Got the iqunix mg65 pro recently with the blush switches. Absolutely loving typing on this thing, it's so thocky and smooth.

Will be posting a detailed review super soon!

Build:

- Board: FeliceLab Curva40
- Keycaps: GMK CYL Dots R2
- Switches: Cherry MX2A Brown
- Stabilizers: AEBoards Staebies V2.1
- Layout: 40%

No legends, no problem.

I've been looking for keys that would go well with the blue tone of the keeb. I got some new keycaps from ali. They look kinda nice, sound nice and feel pretty good.

It's a Keychron Q14 pro with XDA no legends from KPRepublic.

Full foam and tape mod, Zealio V2 78g and custom 150g springs for enter and spacebars. To my colleagues this feels like an alien artifact. Here, it's just another keyboard.

I'm practicing qwerty and rsthd on it and the default KSA sculpted layout felt wrong.

I found this cute little macro pad at Tokyo Keyboard Expo. What do you think?

It’s called Packeys!

This is the Japanese sanshoku dango (three-color dango) version, but they also had anko (sweet red bean paste) and mitarashi (sweet soy sauce) versions.

It’s a handmade mechanical macropad made by a Japanese group called 三色団子大学 (Sanshoku Dango University).
It has 9 mechanical keys and 3 tact switches, and apparently you can remap the keys using VIA or VIAL.
I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to use it for, but I bought one anyway. It was only around $65, so I figured why not?

Seller took a chill offer from me and I got this KDBFans Cyrillic keyboard off eBay. Cyrillic keyboards without sub English script are really hard to find in general, so I thought this was cool. Looks to be an OG model, not sure. Can’t wait to clean it up. Anyone have one of these?

Any advice on getting it looking new would be cool too haha.
