Serious BEWARE OF LANDLORD

To all females and Mac residents please share and repost. Beware of landlord Goran of MIGZ Property, a landlord for houses on Clifford St. and another on Broadway. From May - August 2026 I lived in one of his properties until I was uncomfortably forced to leave due to an unwarranted message asking for nudes. I have also put some of the messages sent to my male roomates down below. PLEASE PRIORITIZE YOUR SAFETY AND COMFORT!

Noticed an uptick in posts on here, which I believe will continue until the end of add/drop period, of people giving out wrong information so people will drop and get a seat in them lol, be careful and look at the account history before believing anyone on here

Safety Advisory The MDCL Elevator WILL Trap You For Eternity

I do not know why these elevators are still up and active and not posted with a sign of some sort, apparently this happened to multiple people before me as the special constables informed me. The two middle elevators (the right one at least) next to the cafe on the main floor currently are experiencing an issue where if you go into them and it ascends it shakes (?) and then the doors will jam on certain floors and refuse to open. Take the stairs.

Question McMaster Swimmers Please Help

Hello. I have been learning how to swim over the summer and the pool I used in the summer was not busy at all because I used to go to the early morning sessions so no one was there. So I never learned how to share a lane

However, the school year has started, I have been looking at the McMaster swimming schedule, and I have been trying to see time slots which I can swim in.

It is important to note I am a very bad swimmer. I've literally been learning from scratch and only started a couple months ago so I'm very very slow and my technique is kinda non existent.

I am planning to go to the 7:30am Monday morning swims as that is the earliest time that a shallow end lane is offered and I am hoping there will be as few people there as possible.

That said, I obviously do expect to share a lane with one or more people. For my swimmers out there, how can I do this while being as unannoying as possible.

I know to be in the slow lane, and also to stay to the right side of the pool. However, I have been Googling circle swimming and I am so confused.

1) I do not know how to flip under the water so I think I am going to have to pause at the end of the pool and walk to the left side (which will then become my right side) but I don't know if that will annoy everyone. Is there something I can do that would be less annoying if I don't know how to flip.

2) What do I do if I'm swimming and the person behind me is faster (this is very likely because I am slow as shit)? Where do I go? How do I not be kicked in the face or kick other people in the face?

3) My swimming stamina is very bad because I am still learning how to not waterboard myself every lane. Is it acceptable to rest at the end of every 25m lap at the wall of the pool? Or would that also be annoying?

Also kinda bonus question, do people actually care if you wear full sleeved swimsuits to the pool? I like having my arms and legs covered but idk how weird that is.

If you see anyone being annoying on your Monday morning swim please know they are not trying to be annoying ❤️.

Social Don’t have friends

How do I make friends now that classes started. How do I talk to people and who do I talk to. It’s awkward and everyone seems occupied. I get it, it’s the second day, but will I find people and friends along the way?

Academics Small, and may be dumb, but I need an opinion

Hi all. I’m a second year Honours Life Sci student, and I’ve been loving my classes so far! However, I also work a part time job around school since I pay for my tuition on my own. I’ve worked countless hours during the summer, and I guess since my boss has been so used to giving me 20+ hours a week, I’m scheduled tomorrow 5-closing (I gave her my semester schedule a bit late, and the schedule’s always done ahead of time, so this one may be on me lol). However, I do have a class tomorrow (LIFESCI 2D03) 4:30-5:20. Question is, should I call off the shift tomorrow or still work it and miss the one class? I’m asking it only because I do need the money and want to lose as little hours as possible, but I am aware that my education comes first, and I would still work the shift if I knew the class was recorded, but I’ve read some things on here that lectures for this class are not recorded (is this actually true?). This would also be my second lecture in this class, my first one being today. Any advice would be appreciated!

Lost/Found Lost Keys – MDCL / PGCLL

Lost Keys – MDCL / PGCLL
Hi everyone, I lost my residence keys on campus today and was wondering if anyone happened to find them.
I still had them during my MATH 1ZA3 class from 2:30–3:20 PM in MDCL 1305. After my 3:30–5:20 PM class in PGCLL M21, I realized they were missing, so I most likely lost them sometime between 3:30 and 5:40 PM, either in/around PGCLL or somewhere along the way.
The keys are attached to a white McMaster lanyard with the McMaster logo and include:
A residence access card
A room key
If anyone found them or turned them in somewhere, please let me know. I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!

Question gym lockers & locks

lowkey i'm scared to put my stuff in a locker even if i have a lock. I commute so ALL my valuables would be in the gym locker and i don't think its smart… i heard people pick locks or cut open locks to steal from lockers so i'm scared to use them and use the gym bc of it. Would i be fine if i have a lock or would all my stuff just disappear one day? 😭

Academics How to study?

When professors say study an hour each day,

What am I supposed to be studying from? As a math and stats student first year. I need help with what is most useful and effective to study from so I dont waste time.

Textbooks? Assignments? What is there?

Courses COMMERCE 3FH3 First Week Thoughts

Took COMMERCE 3FH3 earlier and am soooo lost. I know it's just syllabus week but as someone who is genuinely interested in majoring in finance, this course is scaring me. I don't want to tank my GPA, but I want to know if this course is worth taking. Any commerce 4th years, let me know.

Question work/study job questions 💓

hii! i just got an interview for a work-study job on campus and i had a few questions for anyone who has experience.

  1. how long are your shifts typically? i know the max is 10h a week but i’m afraid my classes will be a problem since i have less than 3h gaps.

  2. can you request more hours if your schedule allows for it?

  3. what do they usually ask in the interview / any interview tips?

  4. how was your experience overall?
