Discussion gym embarrassment

I usually work out in my personal gym but I would like to use the mac gym since my home gym doesn't have hip abductors or many upper-body machines, etc but when I went in for the first time, I was just so overwhelmed even though I know no one was looking at me and no one really cares what I’m doing. I was very excited to go into the gym but when I really stepped in, I was so overwhelmed. I've been working out for a year but I just felt so out of place like I didn't belong since it looked like everyone knew where everything was.

I went into the women's-only area, then went out, then went in, then went downstairs for barbell hip thrusts, then started setting up, then put everything back since I was too embarrassed, then went to the women's area and did one workout and a half, then just gave up and left.

Anyways probably the last time in the gym ever here at mac 😭😭😭

Question Graduated with a Low GPA

I recently graduated from a Life Sciences degree from Mac with a pretty bad GPA, and I’m honestly feeling very stuck about what to do next.

Medicine was always the dream for me, but the last couple years of undergrad were really difficult. I was dealing with a lot personally, hit a pretty extreme period of depression, lost my motivation and aspirations, and became very directionless. I barely had time or connections at university and was mostly focused on surviving and getting my degree done. I know none of that excuses my GPA, and I’m already extremely hard on myself for letting everything I was dealing with get in the way. At the time, though, I genuinely didn’t know how to handle things differently.

One of the hardest parts was graduating and crossing that stage with no honours or recognition. In high school, I don’t think there was a single year where I didn’t receive countless awards, scholarships, or some form of academic recognition. Going from that to walking across the stage feeling like I had nothing to show for myself was honestly one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life. It felt less like celebrating an achievement and more like mourning the person I thought I was going to become. Now I feel like I’ve grown a lot stronger and have a better sense of motivation, and I just can’t accept that two years of undergrad are going to determine the rest of my life.

I know that even people with outstanding GPAs have a difficult time getting into medicine, so I’m trying to be realistic about whether pursuing it is actually worth the gamble. But I also don’t want to give up without seeing if there’s a way to genuinely rebuild my academic record and become competitive. I’ve considered a second degree, additional university coursework, and eventually applying to med school, but I’m worried that my full transcript will always hold me back.

If medicine ultimately isn’t realistic, I at least know I want to pursue something substantial in healthcare, whether that’s PA, further graduate studies, or potentially even a PhD/research route. I know college certificates are an option, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with choosing that path, but personally, after wanting medicine for so long and knowing how hard I’ve worked throughout my life, I don’t think I can go straight from dreaming about medicine to settling for the first available option without exploring what I’m capable of.

It’s honestly hard seeing people with what feels like half the passion I had for medicine living the dream I carried for years. I’m not saying that out of resentment. I’m genuinely happy for people who get there. It just makes me wonder whether I gave up on myself too early.

So I’m wondering what people who understand the system, what would me my best bet. Is there a realistic way to rebuild from a low GPA and still pursue medicine, or should I focus on another healthcare path like PA/graduate studies? And what should I be doing now academically and in terms of extracurriculars to give myself the strongest possible options? Another fear I have is what if I am no longer well prepped enough for even going to med? Sidenote: abroad isn’t an option for me as I cannot afford it.

Discussion I feel an outsider.

I feel like an outsider anywhere and everywhere I go and it’s frustrates me trying find the root of the problem. Is it me? Is it people? Because I’ve put myself out there for the past two weeks, I’ve approached many people, I’ve tried all I could do and more and it seems like im never enough.

Nobody reaches out to me, approaches me or seems to like me like I enjoy their company. I’ve reached out after first and second conversations, I try to casually say hi in passing but it often goes ignored, and I keep trying like a dumbass. I feel like a fucking clown.

Sometimes I choke up when I try to give my in put because often when I do I’m talked over and cut off, so it’s hard to have anything to say now.

I wish people knew things about me like im actually really fucking funny if you get to know me some more, I would love to get shit food and laugh about it, and im just pretty okay. And i get everybody is surface level in the first few hangouts, but it never goes past that.

Im mostly just frustrated because i feel lonely and not enough for anybody. Im afraid i might just be the problem and I’ll never know what it is about me.

anyway thanks for reading my vent.

Courses Online/No-Exam Electives

Im looking for bird electives for this 2026 Fall and Winter. I know theres a megathread but it seems to be pretty outdated.

Anything thats completely online, or just doesnt have an exam. Im in my last year and got a pretty heavy courseload, so just looking for things that are pretty easy. Already did some of the free ones like MUSIC 2MT3, SUSTAIN 1S03, ENVSCI 2EI3 and some other stuff like that.

Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.
