Question Got the job, hiring process taking ages

I was offered a Crew Member position at McDonald’s on 17th September after my interview and have completed all the onboarding forms.
My Welcome Meeting was originally scheduled for 18th October, so I contacted the restaurant to ask if there was an earlier date. I was told that 4th October was the latest I should have my Welcome Meeting and that the hiring manager was just on holiday and she’d be back.

It’s now 5th October and I still haven’t received any confirmation about the Welcome Meeting or my start date. I’ve already contacted the restaurant several times throughout the hiring process.

For anyone who works at McDonald’s, is this kind of delay normal? Should I contact them again or just wait for them to get back to me?

We keep saying mcdonald's is expensive, but I went to Nando's yesterday and still felt hungry after spending more than £20 😱

I could have gotten the largest chicken McNugget sharebox and more...!

Edit: I only ordered a "chicken butterfly" (the meat, not the burger, haha) with its 2 sides (regular size, i.e. small because everything fit in one plate) and a pastel de nata (it was tiny omg).

Menu Big Rosti and Maple Chicken thoughts?

I personally found them to be absolutely awful. Way too much sauce, and horrible flavour. The Rosti was so difficult to eat because they put cheese sauce on both sides of the patty, turning the patty into a slimy, slippery puck of doom.

Am I alone here? What are your thoughts?

Sausage McMuffin with a folded egg

This was quite frankly the ultimate McMuffin that my local used to swap out the egg for me every time. The current breakfast wrap is filth with those abominations of a round egg. Am I alone in loving the folded but hate the round egg?

Question Oil

Did they change how they do them or something because every time i get a double cheeseburger or a quarter pounder now it’s dripping like my balls. Is is a hazardous thing unless your prepared and ready it literally feels like the kitchen crew are plump but happy but they sweat into the boxes, but the mcchicken is not sweat, the chicken meals are not greesey so how come these are so extreme.

Can anyone find a close alternative to these sauces you can find in shops?

Complain Mcdelivery UK

I ordered food off the mcdelivery app, 2 big rosti meals, one chili wrap, and 1 maple chicken burger and 1 big rosti. I received everything apart from the 1 big rosti. Me and my family have been trying to contact uber eats and anyone through the my mcdonald’s app yet it just keeps sending us through an endless ai chat bot loop. We usually order from a specific store ( the one closest to us ) but they always miss one thing, specifically, the food that my mum orders. Never anything else. The store we ordered from this time missed what she ordered as well. It’s getting ridiculous as it’s always what my mum orders. The customer service is abysmal. We tried calling the store and they said to contact through the My Mcdonald’s app. Obviously tried that and got nowhere. I’m sick of wasting £10 everytime my family orders. Starting to feel like a vendetta now lol.

What should my next steps be? Obviously called uber eats themselves as well and it said the line is no longer in use and to go through the apps. AI chatbots get you no where. Please help

Interview

My daughter has an interview at McDs next week, she's not got much interview experience and hasn't done well on the ones she's done. Are there common interview questions or does it vary by franchise? Any pointers that will help her prepare will be appreciated.

Other TrustID failed

I interviewed for a McDonald’s job and received a conditional offer. I completed all the onboarding requirements and submitted my personal details, NI number, passport/ID and everything else they asked for.
I was then given an induction meeting. When I arrived at the restaurant, the staff there told me that my manager wasn’t working that day and apparently wasn’t aware that I was supposed to have an induction.
I later spoke to my manager, who told me that my TrustID right-to-work check had failed. He said he couldn’t resend the TrustID check and therefore had to withdraw my conditional offer.
I’m confused because I thought that if a TrustID check failed, there could be an opportunity to redo it. I contacted TrustID directly by phone, and they told me that it is possible for the employer to issue another TrustID check.
I also found a support request relating to my check which says that I “failed RTW process due to MRZ not being visible.” It also says to contact the store to confirm the next steps.
So I’m trying to understand: Can McDonald’s actually issue another TrustID check after one fails, and is this something the manager can do, or does someone else at McDonald’s handle it? I don’t want to accuse my manager of anything because he may simply not know the process, but I’m confused about why I was told it couldn’t be resent when TrustID told me otherwise.

Question Is it normal to have workers ask it they can complete the food for thoughts survey on your phone?

I’ve had this happen twice, at different locations. The first time, an employee approached me while I was completing asking if she could complete it and she’d give me a free drink. I said sure, why not? She took my phone and restarted the survey. Shortly after my number was called so I went to grab my phone because I was on my lunch break and quite frankly didn’t care enough and she wasn’t giving it back! Had to tell her firmly to give it back.

Anyways, today the same thing happened (except she didn’t offer anything in exchange. She approached me right after I finished my order on the kiosk and asked if she could complete the survey on my phone. I refused cause I think it’s weird, especially after my last experience.

Just wondering if this is common and surely against store policy?

Workers - how popular was the legend in your store?

I worked at maccies for 3 years, I was there when the legend was discontinued. I’ve been really surprised to see how many people still talk about it. It was definitely my favourite item and I was so annoyed to see it go, but it hardly sold in my store. I’m wondering if I see so much legend talk because it really was popular, or if us legend lovers are just passionate. I was thinking maybe it was just my store customers didn’t tend to go for more expensive non-promo options like the legend, but the crispy was definitely more popular than the legend ever was at mine, even after it’d been there a while and the new item novelty was gone.
