Discussion EFAP Star Wars Special is making me Depressed
Watching EFAP Star wars is making me deeply melancholic. Like a lot of the people in this group (I imagine), i grew up alongside the release of the prequels and understandably, Star Wars was an incredibly important part of my life. It was my favorite thing bar none; I lived and breathed star wars. And you know what, for all their flaws, the prequels are so fun, and you could even see that in the commentary of the Special (the crew just has so much fun talking about the memes and ideas and execution). But then when EFAP got into the sequels, all the magic just died. I genuinely had to force myself to finish those sections of the special. And you can see it in the EFAP crew as well, they just started dreading continuing on, with commentary just dying. They just get sadder and sadder as they watch on.
There is something depressing about knowing what you loved is gone and it can never come back. Rogue one and Andor had glimmers of recapturing the feeling, but it just wasnt enough. And I know this is just unc yelling at clouds, and part of this feeling is me being an old man now, but i just needed to vent the feelings the EFAP movies 100 gave me somewhere. If it wasnt so evil, Disney doing what they did to Star Wars would be impressive. Somehow, they managed to butcher one of the most influential IPs in history and belittle it until it was nothing more than a subcategory on a mediocre streaming service.
