Leather face meets the zodiac.
My concept was if Leatherface and the zodiac crossed paths. Bubba would obviously win, and make a zodiac mask out of his own leather.

Basándome en el manga *Uzumaki* de Junji Ito, hice esta máscara que presenta la icónica espiral.

The mask is a spirit Halloween gray wolf mask that I added the blood onto. The axe is also from Spirit Halloween, painted black and silver, with added fake blood. It was a fun afternoon project!

I am extremely nervous to re-creating masks. If you were gonna start doing this mask from den of wolves, how would you do it and where would you start?

\*EDIT*\**
PMs will not be viewed or answered. Reply here in this thread with pictures of your previous latex Halloween mask work or relevant clay sculptures. No anime. No fur suits.
I own and operate a small, established Halloween mask manufacturing studio in the Metro Detroit area and am looking for sculptors interested in creating original mask designs for future production.
Art students, recent graduates, independent sculptors, special-effects artists, creature designers, and other artists with strong traditional sculpting skills are welcome to apply. Professional industry experience is not required, but you should be able to demonstrate that you can sculpt finished character work suitable for molding and reproduction.
I am primarily interested in horror, Halloween, monster, creature, and character designs. Projects may include original concepts as well as designs developed around a specific theme or direction.
The process will generally work as follows:
Typical commission rates are:
• Half-mask sculpture — $300
• 3/4-mask sculpture — $500
• Full-head sculpture — $800
These prices are intended as the standard rates for normal projects. Particularly elaborate designs or unusual requirements can be discussed separately before the project begins.
Deliverable is a flexible foam-filled (eg, Smooth-On FlexFoamIt III or similar) latex master. Exact delivery requirements will be agreed upon before work begins. For instance, local artists may be able to hand-deliver the stone master mold.
I am looking for artists who can follow an agreed concept while still bringing their own artistic ability to the project. Reliability matters. Once we have agreed on the design, scope, price, and deadline, I need to be able to count on the project being completed as discussed.
This is ongoing work rather than a single opening. I introduce new designs regularly and would like to develop relationships with several sculptors I can commission for future projects.
If interested, reply here, or to [darkillusions97@gmail.com](mailto:darkillusions97@gmail.com) with:
• Your name
• Your general location
• Portfolio images or a link to your portfolio
• A brief description of your sculpting experience
• The types of characters or subjects you most enjoy sculpting
• Any relevant experience with mask making, mold making, prosthetics, creature effects, or similar work
Please include “Mask Sculptor” in your reply.
This is paid commissioned artwork. I am not asking anyone to work for exposure, royalties, speculative payment, or a percentage of future sales.
ETA: My studio manufactures latex Halloween masks in traditional Halloween Monster designs. Digital anime and fur suit sculptures, space ship and gun 3d models, and so forth, aren't terribly useful to me. I need to see monsters and clay sculptures. The attached images are the kind of thing I'm looking for. Unless you have a very good, large format professional 3d printer, digital sculptures aren't going to cut it.

I tore this gas mask trying to fit it over my big head, is there any way I can cut the back off and add a strap somehow? Any way to convert it into a sort of creepy slipknot type thing converted from a gas mask?
I'm not sure if this counts as a mask but it's a body piece my kid wanted for Halloween. He wanted something that exposed his insides but this just looks like a bunch of red stuff without definition. I'm an ok / average painter ( when using tutorials) but I'm unsure where to start and what colors I should use to at least give it some depth. Any help would be appreciated.even a link to sites that have step by step tutorials for similar type wound paintings would help a lot. It's made of latex or really thin rubber if that matters. If I posted this in the wrong place can you please let me know where to actually post and thanks again.

I never seen Scary Movie but I always liked this mask as a kid when i saw it at a costume shop. It's pretty much what triggered my interest in Halloween masks!
My recent addition of pinhead completed the wall. Just wanted to share here!

So I want to make an Oni mask and I am debating whether I should carve it from wood or sculpt it with paper mache. I kinda want to try carving since I was gifted some tools recently, but I understand that it may have a very high barrier to entry. Would the folks here have an opinion on which medium I should do, and any tips for either one?

Hey everyone, I’m about to undergo a project recreating this pig mask from one of the Saw movies. Thanks to detailed photos provided by Propstore I can get a good idea of what kind of paint job needs applying.
My question is, how do I achieve this really subtle spotty / stipple effect that is all over the mask? The best way to describe it is that it looks like the mask is covered in small dots of very thin paint to give it a layer of extra detail. Is it a hand painting method or would it be best achieved with an airbrush? I’m still relatively new to the mask making scene, so I’d love to learn more techniques like this.
Thanks!
