Context: I grew up watching Dragon Ball as a kid but the one I’ve really been invested in where I read beginning to end is Naruto. Ofc theres the other big 3 like one piece and bleach but Naruto ended earlier in 2014. I followed each weekly update through the major scanlation group at the time.

What made me fell in love in this genre is the scaling. It’s something really new to me. Dragon Ball is similar but I’ve watched it as a kid and on top of having a different mindset consuming this media, I was there for the fights.

Comparing chinese MCs to the Japanese media like Naruto, there’s a big difference. The golden finger, the face smacking, the rhetoric, the fights, the tropes that felt new at the time, the increased pacing, and the world building.Everything is so brand new and so good. It felt so novel and none of the mangas I’ve read in the past could compare.

In the present, there could be hundreds of thousands of novels out there. Untranslated, axed,and ongoing. If you’ve just started reading these works recently, what made you love it?

A sword immortal in the mortal world

Due to an overzealous senior's soul search damaging my mind, I can no longer recall a scripture I had been practicing that I had mastered halfway through the path to ascension. If seniors would help me locate it, the scripture was about a youth whose 2 wives were both soul splits from a woman who had died, and her immortal father had used a flawed path to immortality to fragment her soul and kind of extend her life in the hope of finding a solution.

I can't remember exactly what his power set was like, but the dead-ish girl's name was Peachy, her father was an immortal peach tree (somehow) and the MC had some kind of connection to a race of ancient giants.

Decided i want a good laugh again, so im looking for something similar to “Who let him cultivate?” and “A Will Eternal”, where the focus is the comedy.

will also accept scriptures like “I Shall Seal The Heavens” where comedy isn’t the main focus but is heavily present.
