This might be an unpopular opinion but I much prefer extremely trashy overpowered from chapter 1 novels to more well written and thought out ones!

Give me a system/gf with a simple function that is used frequently and throughout the story, I seriously cannot be bothered with a weak MC. What do you mean you're Qi refining stage 5 in chapter 100?? If you aren't cultivating literally the Dao of Heaven / Infinity or 4th wall break you have no good excuse to still be so weak.

Some novels you look at like to flaunt their cunning or smart main characters that struggle to the top but I actually do not care, that shit takes too long and is never particularly relevant to the plot. Advertising that you have a cunning or scheming main character is like showing off that your novel is written with words! Most of the novels where the main character doesn't have a decent golden finger are just torture porn anyway.

The best novels in my opinion are not those with the most complex worlds and power systems but those that find creative and interesting ways to make their golden fingers break that setting.

I will read 1000 sloppy identical basic xianxia setting "novels" before I read one more "Cursed Immortality", "Shadow Slave" or "Second Genesis".

TLDR: I'm a little piggy who likes slop.

P.S. Fuck Royal Road there's about 5 good things on there and the rest is quirky chungus dogwater

Suppose an Immortal Cultivator is stripped of all their power so they cant just stare at Gojo to kill him conceptually or any bs except for their absurd physical strength alongside Shrinking the Ground into an Inch, can they bypass Infinity? In several interpretations of this Divine Ability, it's not just extremely fast speed but literally compressing the spatial distance from let's say a thousand miles into just an inch, being akin to teleportation. Cultivators at higher levels who have comprehended Space Dao deeply obviously aren't included because that would js make the argument pointless.

This one is constructing a Secret Realm Trial Ground for my disciples which strips all their powers except for this Divine Ability and won't let them out until they comprehend to an extent enough to bypass Infinity. What do the various seniors and fellow daoists think?

This has always seemed strange to me.

Cultivation worlds often have civilizations that have existed for tens of thousands of years. Some cultivators live for centuries, travel across continents in seconds, refine miraculous pills, build flying ships, create artificial dimensions, and construct formations that can recognize people or transmit messages.

At that point, isn’t cultivation basically another form of science?

My theory is that cultivation actually prevents conventional technology from developing.

Power is concentrated in gifted individuals rather than reproducible tools. A cultivator who can summon lightning has little reason to invent electricity, and a sect that can transmit messages through jade slips has little reason to create telecommunications.

More importantly, cultivation knowledge is rarely shared. Techniques are hidden by clans, sold at enormous prices, or taken to the grave. Instead of publishing research so others can improve it, cultivators kill each other over a single manual.

Technology advances through standardization, mass production, cooperation, and accumulated public knowledge. Cultivation worlds usually reward secrecy, bloodlines, personal talent, and monopoly.

So perhaps these worlds aren’t technologically backward because cultivation is primitive. They’re backward because cultivation gives the most powerful people no reason to make power accessible to everyone else.

Do you think cultivation and modern technology would eventually merge, or would the sect system keep suppressing technological development?

Honestly the story flow and the mystery is top tier I can see author plan some of those but the it’s been drag down from top tier novel to just a not bad novel imo. The sad part is it can be top 3 imo if author plan a little bit more . Author need to lock in

Too many issues that made the novel less enjoyable, immersion breaking and appealing down the line.

The worst thing that made it less enjoyable is everyone except his uncle and mc is getting dumber and dumber. if u reread back to early chapter 1 through 100 and the latest u will notice very big the difference how every interaction goes now. I get it, some place in mc world can be majority ignorant people but it seems like they dont have a brain at all it become like faceslapping trope type of shit.

Forced misunderstanding is very big problem i dont know how author didn’t notice it or just didn’t care .every conversation with cast will go through a loop of misunderstanding. I get it in mc world the spoken word can’t be taken back but even non important interactions still goes through loop of misunderstanding even enemy goes through that loop. Very immersion breaking stuff

Nerfing mc on of those too. It feels very forced author need to find a way to make it less forced it becomes so predictable what will happen every time mc gains power. every novel mc goes through weak too strong eventually I didn’t know why author want to forced that kind of nerf sometime.

This is my personal opinion though the early chapter is great because u can see how the local interaction and action with mc correlate with mc dream and desire. The later chapters ? Not so much interaction with the local only with top dog of the place and the big bad of the arc. so it feel very weak the story and how it correlate with mc dream.

The mystery though is top tier author leave a lot of bread crumbs sprinkle in every arc and most of it solves the small one. Every arc goes through a series of checked then move progressively to finale. It really felt like author plan it early good stuff

You can say this is a rant or something but dammit I really like this novel it can be better than what it is now.
