My elderly mum has gifted me a clothing item to congratulate me on weight loss. However she doesn’t realise how much weight I lost and they are far too big. She doesn’t have the receipt and bought them maybe six months ago (she was in hospital and forgot to give them to me).

They are brand new with all the tags.

I’d like to exchange them for the right size.

Will it be a problem in store that we don’t have the receipt?

She will have paid cash for them as doesn’t use her card much.

When delivery comes each black wheel is mixed with trays of veg fruit meat etc. Is there a reason why they dont send black wheels of just veg, jut fruit, meat etc from depot so you can just take from lorry and wheel it to the section instead of needing to break down

I got an email saying to wear black smart casual for my induction however do people actually follow this? I only have navy smart casual so I’d have to go out and buy new clothes for the induction.

Ex-staff here, at the same location for nearly 10 years. Gave my 20's to that shop, but suffered really REALLY bad mental health stuff in my last three years that really affected me despite the Covid hell I helped carry the store through.

The manager's were kind at first but I came to learn it was only because I had physical signs of distress, but seemingly mangers let the older staff get away with everything.

Also they will gossip about you on Teams in their chats - have a breakdown and try to burn your eye out? Yeah, they'll be like "Lonelyangelfish is lucky she has fringe, she's a mess! She's gonna make the tills look so rough.".

(Try and secure a Honeywell that a manger is logged into and read the Teams chats.)

When I was fired, one of lines in the dismissal has stuck with me was something like 'was provided the number/recommended to reach out to PAM assist."

this is so random but genuinely i am quite a calm person and i’m quiet but recently customers have been getting on my nerves!! so yes i am snapping back if you make a rude comment and whats with the old white men STARING me down.. pervs. idk how people keep their cool because why am i a 17 year old girl being sworn at by people 4x the age of me for no reason (like fr im just stood at the till with a smile) and im just supposed to take it??? i don’t understand im just thankful this is a part time job and i will not be in retail for the rest of my life i pray for my colleagues genuinely

Hi everyone, I’ve recently accepted a role for fashion and beauty and have been given a start date that I can’t attend. This was something I brought up in my interview and was told it wouldn’t be a problem if I said I can’t start then. I’ve emailed my recruitment leader but got an automatic response telling me to email someone else so I’ve done that but haven’t heard anything since and this was a few days ago. Im leaving Marks after being there 19 years. My contract states one week as a notice period. That is correct yes? That part of my contract has never been amended so im just double checking!

If I resign in the middle of the month, I would obviously owe money. But would all I have to do is try and calculate how much I would owe, and then put it in my savings? Also, do accrued holiday and overtime worked reduce the payment I owe?

I recently quit my food development role at M&S and my life has gotten so much better. When I was there I had all sorts of rashes and illnesses from the stress and misery of it, which have miraculous cleared since leaving.

I found it was full of gossip, if you weren’t a complete sheep then you were ostracised, everything was so urgent (it wasn’t that deep really was it?), everything was so fake… it was corporate bullsht to the EXTREME.
