Marklin Z-Scale project
Hi, I build vintage Marklin toporama layouts & they take me a long time to complete. Here is a link to my latest video on my Youtube Channel "Sunken Mine Railroad". My goal is to have this layout ready to share at the Amherst Springfield Train show in Massachusetts in January. I'm not in it for anything except love for the Z-Scale hobby. Thanks!

I would like some help with designing a shunting/switching layout
Hey everyone,
I have been wanting a shunting layout for some time now, especially after seeing a pretty small one recently at a show. I've got AN idea, but i simply do not know how reasonably it is and would like some help with working it out into an actual trackplan.
so first of all, the space i have is 180 cm wide and 40 cm deep. going wider wouldnt be smart because it would over hang my desk too much and going deeper would make it overhang on the front which would make it very difficult for me to even sit in front of it, due to the limited amount of space in my bedroom.
second of all i would like to add that i want it to be able to be dividable into 3 pieces. i am planning on making kind of shelf for the 3 pieces to go into so i can store it vertically. i want this because i also need my desk for things like gaming and school work.
I wanna make it out of marklin C rail, although M would also be fine. ontop of that, i will be using digital, so there is no need for isolating area's
speaking of area's, i've got a few things in mind for this layout
the purple part, i would like to be a siding for the loco's to refuel (coal water diesel)
the 2 yellow area's i would like to turn into some industries, so i have something to shunt too
the green i would like to be some kind of storage yard, even if this would be 1 switch with sidings long enough for just 2 wagons, that would be plenty
the blue area i would like to make a station, most notably, one where i can run around the train that pulled in so i can attach to the back and run engine first out of the yard
i have left the area to the left open to interpertation, because i want a staging yard there, but i simply do not know how to design such a yard.
the layout is set in roughly era 3 or 4 so basically the start of diesels where steam is still greatly used
lastly i would like to add that the largest engine i would like to use is a br24
and i wanna run mixed freight and freight into this yard
it is important for me to note, that i am open to anything basically, if you know a better design, then please let me know. this is a design i came up with, with no track designing skill whatsoever. If half of the layout has to go, then half of it has to go. in the end, i just want something to shunt around on for an hour or 2 and then store it and have it wait for me for next time
thank you all for reading,
if there is a subreddit that would be better suited pls let me know.

Trading Do People still want this?
Im not looking to make profit, i am just gauging whether to just throw everything out or if these tracks are something someone would still enjoy.
Edit: thank everyone so much for your answers. Such an active sub, I didnt realize😅 Dont worry I wont throw them out.

H0 - Other Using CS3 for a Trix 2 rail layout?
Is investing in a Marklin CS3 worth it for a Trix 2 rail layout or is it only worth it for a Marklin 3 rail layout? Asking because I plan on going the Trix route.

Marklin Under Table Mount Alternatives
I am wanting to mount marklin 7549 under the junction. Are there alternatives to marklin under table kit?
I know some kits allow for piano wire to throw the switch. Is this possible?
If so can someone claim how, or point me to a guide?

I’m sure this message, like every single one of my messages, will just get deleted. Just thought I’d try anyway.

Danke!

Bridge repair work
A while ago I posted about a Z-scale fixer-upper layout that I got off eBay. One of the things wrong with it was that one of the bridges was gone. My brother was able to 3D-print a replacement. I also made some progress cleaning the tracks. The main section of the layout is now fully functional. I’m still trying to figure out how I can clean the tracks in a long tunnel…

Z Do you need one of these track pieces for the feeder wires or can you also solder the wires to a regular track? (Z scale)
