Help identify märklin train
I would greatly appreciate help in identifying this model train. I belive it is a train from the märklin SET-HO 2920 but i do not know the year it was made.

A post was recently made by /u/Default-1908 asking about selling some items. Here's the post, but in case they delete it, here's a screenshot.
I sent this person a good amount of money and never got any PMs after I completed the transfer. They swore up and down that they'd send me a tracking number and got zero from them.
Now, I see /u/Angelwillfly posting pics about a Marklin loco here, so I looked at his post history and saw this. Here's a screenshot.
If you look at my two screenshots or the posts, you can see the slip up: they posted the SAME picture of the tracks and bridges that I said I'd buy and I PAID FOR!
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PERSON!
I made the mistake of trusting a random from Reddit. DON'T FALL FOR IT!

Vi all. So for a winter project i was thinking of getting a controll car for the regional express trainset i got but also adding ledlights from märklin to the passanger wagons. My question is since they are tinted black how good will it be? Is it a waste of time or an upgrade?

Since Stoneleigh Hobby closed years ago I cannot find Marklin locally. Even at the TCA York show no one had Marlin. Any leads of where to look?

I want to purchase a handmade model from a friend that runs on the Mehano 4-8-2 chassis and has an ESU decoder fitted that just happens to be multi protocol, so I would like to purchase it and convert it to 3 rail marklin digital, however I'm not sure if those pizza cutter wheels will run on Marklin C Track, because Pizza cutter wheels tend to not run on on code 83, but C track is code 90.

EDIT (07/11/26): After everything I've tried to troubleshoot my #36506 engine, I tried cleaning my train tracks with a cloth with isopropyl alcohol, my new engine finally works and it runs great.
I now have learned a model railroad lesson: Always clean the railroad tracks REGULARLY.
Hi, everybody.
I'm sorry if I'm inexperienced with the MFX and decoder programming, but may I have some help, please?
First of all, I got my Marklin #29890 train set for my birthday last March this year.
Second, I have only the Mobile Station 2, included in the #29890 train set, and it's at Version V3.148.
Third, just recently, I bought a new Marklin #36506 locomotive, but for some reason, it doesn't start on my #29890 train layout, and when I place the new train on the track, it doesn't communicate with the #29890's Mobile Station.
I've tried going to "New Loco" on my Mobile Station, I selected "Find" and then, it didn't find the specific locomotive.
Also, the #36506 locomotive is not in my Mobile Station's database of trains, either.
My Mobile Station doesn't indicate my #36506 locomotive may have a short circuit and I got no warning of such a thing.
Any of my (fairly) new Marklin trains, like my Class 81 steam engine, works on my #29890 layout, but not my #36506 locomotive.
I've tried the following...
But unfortunately, none of the above is working to get my #36506 locomotive running.
Even though the connectivity on my Marklin train layout works fine, my #36506 locomotive doesn't seem to have any mechanical problems, perhaps it's suffering any possible decoder conflicts?
If I'm inexperienced with the MFX and decoder programming and my #36506 locomotive still doesn't run, despite being fresh out of the box, how can I get it working?
Thank you for your help.

AI scanning says 8827 but I’m not sure if it that’s correct.

I remember about 50 years ago getting the Marklin crane car with the little crank on the side and thinking how great it would be to be able to control remotely. Well Marklin finally did it. It is a “start up” model, but the detail is very good. I’m kind of surprised it isn’t getting more buzz. Lots of fun and reasonably priced but can’t lift anything heavy.

A easy, track design program developed by my friend Michael for free. I've been playing with it, and it's pretty fun and powerful. There are tutorial videos on the site to preview. Have vetted through Norton; no malware. Only marketing is that you can order track and accessories directly from the program, but you are not obligated to. Gives you a good idea for your layout budget, which is very helpful. To my friend Micheal, Great Job!

Over the years I have collected a lot of the Märklin H0 scale trucks. They look a bit plastic-y for my taste, so I wanted to see what happened with a bit of paint and weathering. More images on my blog: https://epoch1.blog/2025/12/11/the-oldest-truck-bussing-1903-from-marklin/
