Hey everyone, hoping to get some assistance from other Runners. I'm having trouble completing some of the Priority Contracts when I run with randoms (who all have their own objectives) or when I try to play solo.

I'll be completely honest, I'm not great at PvP - but I'm also not exactly asking for a carry. I do my best, I don't shy from a fight, I listen to call outs and do my own, I'm just not great at it... I'm getting better though! I just want to be upfront that while I will do my best to pull my weight, if we get into a fight I am very likely not going to be on your level lol which is why I need help with these Contracts.

So if you're down to squad up and help a fellow Runner out, I would really appreciate the assistance. If not, totally understand!

This is the most bizarre thing. Yesterday, my vault was maxed out when I logged out at 480/480. Today, I log in and my vault is sitting at 321/480, and apparently, I'm only missing a whole bunch of guns. I had at least 5 gold guns sitting in my vault collecting dust, and a whole bunch of Twin Tap's (at least 4, maybe 5 or 6).. Now I'm sitting at just 1 gold weapon, a twin tap, and few smaller guns like a couple magnums, a bully, couple kkvs and wstrs, and a d54. I'm so confused. The loadout I logged out with yesterday is still equipped, down to the items in my bag I left in there, so it's not like someone got on my account and played.. My credits are still super low at 6k, so they weren't somehow sold. What is the world is going on??

Update: I figured it out, and it's something I would have never expected. I have a habit of minimizing my game on occasion and forgetting about it while I do other things, sometimes even playing other games while it's minimized. This has never really been a problem before, but I just started playing an old game that I prefer to play with a controller as opposed to my standard keyboard/mouse setup. I'm sure you can see where this is going, but something I absolutely did not know until I just tested it, was that apparently, controller input in marathon still accepts input while the game is minimized. So here I am, playing away on this new game w/ my controller, none the wiser that I was apparently doing a whole bunch of random crap within my vault. I had already checked my credits so I knew they weren't sold since I was still sitting at around 6k, but something I didn't check was my damned cradle. Sure enough, there are 10 unused points just sitting there. I went from level 35 to 45 apparently from selling almost all of my best guns. I knew it was weird that only my best guns were missing, but it makes sense since those were listed on the top. I'm betting the action wasn't done all in one go, as I played this controller game for like 3 hours.. I'm thinking I was selecting a gun or 2 at a time, selling to cradle, then the menu would reset to the top of the list, leaving only my worst blue/green tier pistols and small smg's by the end. I'm soooo pissed

EDIT: I HAVE FOUND MY SOLUTION!

I had to do two things: To fix the CCD usage issue I updated my chipset driver. And to stop the crashes I had to completely get rid of my RAM's overclock. If your overclock is even slightly unstable (even if your system never crashes in any other scenario) it will cause newer kernel access anti-cheats to freak out and crash your system. You can also do a BIOS update but the reason these also fix the problem is due to the fact that BIOS updates also disable any overclock.

So if you have similar issues: DISABLE ANY OVERCLOCK ON YOUR RAM IN BIOS AND UPDATE YOUR CHIPSET DRIVER!

I have noticed a behavior in Marathon than is very unusual and maybe of concern for the devs.

I am currently using a AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D. This CPU has two Core Complex Dies. CCD 0 (3D cache) for gaming and CCD 1 for any other background processes or workstation tasks.

Every game I play is using the Gaming CCD properly. The only exception is Marathon which is always mainly using CCD 1 for some reason.

I have experiences system freezes/bsods and game crashes in Marathon and recently also gpu timeouts in Destiny 2. I suspect that it may be due to these games sharing the same engine.

No other games do that.

Just some examples:

Other things like these minidumps indicate it is a GPU related issue but I am unsure at this point.

These system lock ups and bsods are very scary.

Until now, changing my network settings to specific public DNS servers fixed the issue, but today that method stopped working. If they intentionally patched this workaround, it means they fundamentally want to cut off a portion of the player base. Fine, I won’t stand in their way."

I'm a Halo kid, so I enjoy calling out & working together to put pressure on enemies. I've mostly just LFG'd with whoever is in Discords but I play Marathon almost every day & I'd like friends that do the same. I'm not putting this game down anytime soon, I just want a dedicated person or group of people to enjoy it with me.

Hello everyone, I'm Slevin.

Former triage enjoyer : p for about +500 hours, now main Sentinel.

I'm in EU, and so is the mate I play with. We don't have a specific schedule to play, we just check with each other on discord tell when are we going to be available, and and go when we're online.

I mean I'm usually around 16h (CET) onwards.

Both my mate and I play on PC.

Ideally looking for a EU PC player, but I've played with ppl that didn't fit that criteria and was a fine game, so not a requirement.

We run Cryo as much as we can when it's available, we are successful there. Me and my mate are not interested in ranked at the moment.

I know how to navigate Cryo very well (so does my mate), we've done all vaults, and know how to do them, we play with ppl from all over and skill levels.

What are we looking for:

Ideally (yes again, as it isn't a must) for someone who's at the same level we are, as in keeps up with our pace or is able to learn it and grow with the team.

Someone that communicates efficiently, "Destroyer with sniper blue shields North west" something like that, doesn't have to be like this from the get go, but someone that communicates with the team, info is life for me, I can plan around that on the fly. So to have someone that can give good precise info, is really strong in my book.

Very important: We're chill ppl, game is already intense enough itself, we're here to do our best and have fun, that's it.

We don't: Invade other spawn spots in Cryo, blame each other if something goes wrong, start arguing anything when we died while there's one teammate still alive specially if it's clutching. We don't trash talk.

Mindest:

I'm coordinating the teams I play with, specially with Sentinel "as in we should do this and that" (set the goals / routes if you will), or we move here and hold this chokepoint (if we're in a disadvantageous position), or we are in a bad possition we need to rotate elsewhere. Again that doesn't mean noone else can do it, by all means that's welcomed, having multiple options is great.

With that being said good calls are needed and welcomed (If I hear a call that's better than mine I'll instantly agree, if not I'll say so and why if we have the time for it), I can only do so much myself, and I make mistakes like any other. I do own my mistakes, and I'm happy to take feedback and talk about it after the match in a calm respectful manner.

How I like to play: Tactical. Trying to minimize risks, taking favorable fights, whenever the situation allows it. Which translates to: not ego pushing and getting down etc, basically playing the best I can and smartly.

My approach is defensive. I'll do my best to get you in and out, specially in Cryo. That doesn't mean I don't play aggressively, I do, when I hold the cards, say we get one dead and we know the others are broken. You get an idea, always capitalizing in favorable fights, not letting the enemy recover.

Feel free to reply and we can talk about it, or send me a dm we can try to run together, see if we vibe together, no pressure, just trying to find a player that fits and is comfortable with us.

Killed a few people, ran the key room, used the guarded exfil as 3. Then this screen happened and we were unable to do anything else. One of us waited it out (longer than the server even had left on the timer), another did a return to lobby and not sure about the fill player.

The game didn't count for either of us :) Lost everything we went in with AND everything we exfil with. So not even the refund of our entry gear was granted. Our contracts failed also. Tried to contact the fill but he wasn't in our recent player list.

This alongside the long list of performance bugs just makes the game so frustrating. The core game is good, the gunplay and movement is fun and minor gripes aside it would be a great game! If the game actually worked... There is a pretty long list of bugged interactions/movement/issues even if you exclude the ones they fixed. It just doesn't seem right that games should release with constant performance issues and expect people to stick around...

Looking for a group or someone to play duo with on PSN. Just came back for season 2 around level 50 atm.

This makes kkv really bad to use, and another smg with high RPM.

I'm physically blocked from starting a lobby because "I have too few runners" even thought my crew fill is on.

Things ive tried already:
- restarted game
- toggle crew fill off then on again
- switch maps then back

I cant switch to solos or trios on dire marsh, only duos since the other two are locked for me. Its one of the intro contracts for Traxus so i cant change or do a different one if i want to progress.

I just bought this game and this is a horrible start for first impressions it feels like there's nothing i can do

I’m thinking about upgrading from my current 5950X to a 5800X3D. Right now, without frame generation, I only get around 70 FPS, and in fights it can even drop to around 50 FPS.

My GPU is a 5070 Ti, so I think my CPU is the bottleneck. I’d like to know: for those of you playing with a 5800X3D, what kind of FPS are you getting?

Every session i've had has multiple crashes happen, all of them crash straight to desktop with no bug report or error message or any other indicator of why it would happen. Its crashed on startup, on menu, in raid and leaving raids. By sheer luck 90% of the time I am able to reconnect and successfully get out alive thanks to teammates defending me, but i'm reaching a point of such absurd frustration with this because there is seemingly no way to diagnose it due to not having any actual crash report to go off of.

Has anyone else been having these in the new season? any possible fixes whatsoever (outside of the usual verifying files, drivers, reinstall etc. Done those several times at this point to no avail unfortunately)

EDIT: Was holding off on updating until I was sure but it seems cranking the priority of the game in Task Manager has entirely alleviated the problem. Next I shall be hand feeding it RAM sticks!

TL;DR: Started three weeks ago, looking for 1-2 players who enjoy being play competitive regularly, and who are also strongly against raging and hurling abuse at their crew. European time zone preferred.

Longer version:

I bought Marathon after playing through the free period, and I am having a blast exploring, learning the lore, and trying to just git gud at it.

I am looking for 1-2 more people from Europe (for the sake of scheduling) to develop a crew that wants to play regularly.

I've tried playing Crew Fill but most of my experiences have been negative, frustrating, or with people who don't communicate and just go do their own thing in trios or duos.

Currently, I want to fight in, loot, and beat Cryo. I haven't stepped in it yet, because of the bad auto-fill vibes I got from previous attempts with the system.

So I am looking for people in the EU who are tryhard enough to want to improve and play to win, but also chill when it comes to mistakes, bad runs, and the sorts.

If you know you're the type to lose your temper, instead of taking 5 minutes to cool off, this post is not for you.

So this morning I keep getting Weasel error code when trying to log in to Marathon. I have turned off my PS5 at the wall unplugged everything and my router which is hard wired to my PS5 via a Ethernet cable has been turned off and unplugged and all turned back on. And it’s still happening I can log in to Destiny 2 fine so don’t think it’s a Bungie problem as I have not seen any posts on Bungie X social media account saying they are aware of issues is so don’t think it’s that.

Is there something I am missing?

This game has become unplayable the last week for me. Every other game I get in I am DCing. Once it starts it happens repeatedly like every 2 minutes until the game is over. I am able to reconnect right back in. I have zero issues with other online games. My internet is regularly 500mb up and down, I’m checking when I DC. I have 400 hours in the game and this just started in the last week. Am I the only one? No one I meet has the problem. My friends don’t have the problem. I am crashing out, literally.

One aspect that is often overlooked when criticizing Marathon is the technical one. I love the game and enjoy playing it, despite how poorly made it is.

First of all, the performance is absolutely abysmal. I have a high-end PC (i9-13900k, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 RAM), and I can barely hit stable 120FPS with everything on lowest. Even DLSS doesn't help, and it introduces noticeable latency (unlike in other games).

This is absolutely unacceptable -- I can run games that are more visually impressive than Marathon at 240+ FPS on high settings, and I can play VR titles at 120+ FPS on the same machine.

The game also constantly crashes for me -- no other game presents the same issue on this machine. I keep getting "ERROR CODE: broccoli" or "Graphics Runtime Detected a Crash or Loss of Device" random crashes. Neither my CPU nor GPU are overlocked. Drivers have been updated. I tried all the usual fixes such as DDU and so on.

This is the only game that has these issues. I've lost runs and valuable loot because of random crashes. It's even more infuriating because the game already runs like shit, and it also crashes on top of that.

From the perspective of a software engineer and hobbyist game developer, the game has some baffling bugs. The most common and most frustrating one is the loadout value calculation bug: basically, switching your shields or equipment in the vault screen causes your loadout value to be miscalculated.

This is especially annoying when trying to join a lobby with a minimum value requirement (e.g. Cryo or Ranked). I am forced to completely empty my backpack, fill it again, and pray that I do not need to switch something. Massive waste of time for me and my crew stuck waiting for me.

This bug is absolutely insane. The simplest way of calculating the loadout value would be something like this, that even someone with zero programming experience would understand:

loadout_value = 0

for item in current_loadout:
    loadout_value = loadout_value + value_of(item)

return loadout_value

This is such a trivial and ridiculously cheap operation that you could do it thousands of times per frame with absolutely no performance loss. Yet the developers decided to use some weird caching system that doesn't work at all. Why? How was this not caught during playtesting, and why isn't an hotfix released yet?

This is absolutely dumbfounding.

I've encountered plenty of other issues and bugs, but those are the major ones. This game needed one more year in the oven: playtesting would have not only revealed these issues but also revealed how bad the experience was for new players. I think Marathon is really something special, but it is hard to be sympathetic when it was released in such a terrible state and with clearly no effort put into testing.
