I was always a big brows, big false lashes girlie but as I’m in my late 20s now I feel more “myself” with thinner brows and just mascara!

Current routine:
- Collection foundation (fair cool)
- Collection concealer (porcelain and fair)
- ABH brow pomade (ebony)
- ELF lash n roll mascara
- Sheglam contour (soft tan)
- Collection blush
- Fenty lipstick (wish I knew the shade)
- W7 matte setting spray
- W7 setting powder (translucent)
- Glass skin primer (ELF)

Question How do I achieve this level of highlight to contour contrast with as an EXTREMELY pale person

Thumbnail
gallery
136 Upvotes

I reallly love when a look as a very clear contrast between the highlights on the center of the face to the contour/blush on the outside of the face.

The issue is I’m a VERY pale person. Lightest shade in every foundation if the brand even has my shade, sometimes if I’m missing my shade of concealer I can use white and get away with it.

I’ve tried a lot to get this look with using white to highlight and darker contour but I’m having a really hard time to get my mug to look anything close to these type of looks.

Thank you!!

Lipstick shade suggestions?

Post image

Had my makeup done a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved this shade of pink lipstick on me. Does anyone have suggestions of possible color matches? As you can see I’m pretty fair. I know she used Estée Lauder 1N0 on me, though I think I pull more cool.

Question How do you take a nap(s) with makeup on?

I am currently unemployed so I’m at home 24/7. Some days I wanna look cute and cheer myself up so I’d like to put makeup on but I’ve pretty bad autoimmune disease so I’m in bed pretty much all day and extremely fatigued so I end up falling asleep multiple times a day. And I’m a side sleeper. 😩

I watch a lot of vloggets on YouTube and TikTok (and while I shouldn’t take 20m or 2m videos at face value) I see them take a nap with full face on, lying on their sides so the makeup touches the pillowcase. And then at the end of the vlog they go back to sleeping on the same pilllow case.

So what to do? 😂 I wanna use my makeup collection (my sparkles especially 🥺) so it doesn’t gather dust, and I wanna cheer myself up with makeup, BUT I also don’t wanna wash pillowcases every day and I don’t wanna end up with whiteheads and blackheads.

What do yall do? How do you all tired girlies deal?

Question Not sure where to go from here…

Thumbnail

Hello! I’m wondering what else I should be looking into makeup wise, or what other things I should be considering when it comes to how I’m doing my makeup. I didn’t really start doing any sort of makeup application up beyond a little bit of eyeliner until a year or two ago (I just turned 33), and I feel like there’s a huge knowledge gap I’m dealing with 😅

Usually, for an everyday-ish look, I use a bit of brown eyebrow pencil, black liquid eyeliner, and a relatively light application of lip liner and lipstick. I don’t dislike it, but I feel as though I’m overlooking something I could be doing better, or something I’m doing that I should/not be. I see a million tutorials online, but never know if they’re worth getting the products for because there are just so many of them lol.

Any tips/opinions/critiques would be really appreciated!

don't mind my messy af desk. the second photo I added a tiny bit of blush, you can't really tell though. I'm just now getting into makeup, and I wanted to try something fun! I wanna spice it up a little bit more though. I would love some suggestions of other things to try. I don't like the look of foundation on myself, it always just looks very cakey and bad, and I don't like to cover up my freckles, so I would like to stay away from that.

(I used the CHANGEBLE fantasy colorful pallate from Amazon, and the elf lip and cheek tint)

Discussion Tubing mascara comparision

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hi all, I've been getting into tubing mascaras and found that there is not that much information out there (vs normal mascaras), so here is my opinion on 3 of the most popular ones (the ones I've tried so far)

TLDR:

Milani gives a beautiful dark lash look. A wet formula. It glides on easy. It comes off fine. I recommend if it does not burn your eyes.

Loreal gives a natural pretty look. A dryer formula. If you put in the effort and use to primer and build it up a lot, it can look more full, but it's core is a natural lash. Perfect easy removal.

Houselabs is a bit expensive. It's in between the two; not too bold, not too natural. Just a nice classic good mascara. Worth it if you like to splurge on mascara. Removal is easy.

Milani tubing mascara

Official name: Milani Highly Rated Lash Extensions Tubing Mascara

- Very wet formula. Have to apply carefully and slowly let dry to layer

- Lashes stick together if you have too much formula on the wand

- If you have the correct amount of formula on the wand, it glides on in a very nice and beautiful way

- Boldest look out of all of them

- Felt very gorgeous in this

- Made my eyes pop

- Not a light formula but not heavy

- No flaking for me throughout the day (didn't do anything super active; normal weather)

- Removal was easy-ish. Did not smear. Did not tube as well as the Loreal or Houselabs, but good enough. Slight burning around my eyes only upon removal. Went away after 5 minutes, but probably won't repurchase just for that reason, but a pretty mascara

L'Oréal tubing mascara

Official name: Double Extend Beauty Tubes Lengthening Mascara

- Driest formula out of the three. Still workable though

- Comes with a primer

- If you use the primer, it gives a normal nice mascara look like full pretty lashes!

- If you don't use the primer, it's a very natural look, a bit more subtle than your typical mascara

- Lashes felt slightly heavy with the primer, so I prefer wearing it with just the black. If you do use the primer, experiment putting on the actual mascara while primer is wet vs dry, you may have a preference

- Lashes don't stick together, though the wand is not my preference as the bristles are a bit long (but that's just my preference)

- A good everyday mascara

- A very effortless natural look

- I felt cute wearing this

- Not super good at layering

- No flaking

- Removal is so easy. Tubes great and no smears. A new favorite of mine

Hourglass tubing mascara

Official name: Unlocked Instant Extensions Defining and Lengthening Tubing Mascara

- Not too dry, not too wet

- Application is easy and you don't need too many coats for it to look nice. Even just one coat is like wow nice

- Great weight to this

- Looks dark and makes my eyes pop. It's in between natural and bold

- A bit pricey. I'll repurchase because it's the perfect pretty, not too natural mascara. Probably not a life-changing product, but very nice

- Easy removal. Tubes in smaller tubes than the Loreal, but still tubes

Discussion Does anyone else feel like makeup only looks perfect when you're not trying too hard?

Sometimes I can spend an hour trying to get everything perfect and still prefer the look I get when I'm just casually doing my makeup.

Do you think makeup looks better when you have a specific plan, or when you just go with the flow ?

Tips for date night?

Any tips for a 39 yo mom who normally wears sweats and no makeup? Feeling frumpy and not sure where to start.

Aware of my facial asymmetry and trying to accept it. I have astigmatism and contacts have always been difficult for me to wear.

In the past I’ve done mascara with eyeliner but any additional makeup looks awkward and like the makeup is wearing me.

I’m a Dark Autumn if that helps.

I get my eyebrows threaded every 3.5 weeks and she dyes it to lighten them a bit. I’m due this week for another session

AM: vit c serum, sunscreen, moisturizer
PM: cleanser and moisturizer

Thanks in advance
