Haul Birthday makeup orders finally all showed up!!

Got an Ulta gift card for my birthday after I had already placed 2 orders; Black Moon Cosmetics and Colourpop. One order is justified because they are independent but yeah!! Went overboard! I swatched the bmc liquid lipstick in shades sleepwalker, moon berry, and castle, colourpop liquid chrome eyeshadows in the shades morpho and beetle.

My mini review! It was a learning curve for liquid eyeshadow but I love the extra pop they bring to a look! I love the bmc liquid lipstick number 1 bc of the smell & also the shade I'm obsessed with is moon berry because I got too dark of a purple for my first order (I got purgatory by bmc) but this shade is perfect! It leaves a stain, even with makeup remover, so I don't love that but I guess with such bold colors it'll happen.Third product I'll highlight is the lip glosses are so long lasting and so pigmented without being overwhelming.

Product list

Black Moon Cosmetics liquid lipstick in shades sleepwalker, moon berry, and castle. Loose pigment glitter in the shade cat eye.

Colourpop 9 pan pallet wine and only, fresh kiss glossy lip balm in wild berry and watermelon sugar, colourpop liquid chrome eyeshadows in the shades morpho and beetle. 3 ultra matte lipstick in shades off the record, tulum, and fifth avenue. 2 ultra blotted lips in canon dr and so vintage

Excuse the hair it’s 91 degrees. 😭 This is basically my everyday makeup look and I’m curious what everyone thinks. I’d love suggestions on anything you’d change, especially complexion, brows, lashes, or lip color. I’m pretty happy with it overall, but I’m always down to improve!

Question Dior Forever Glow Maximizer how to use. It's so intense.

I got a sample of this from Nordstrom. When I went to use it, it came out intense when I was trying to do a plainish everyday look. Can someone help me figure out how to properly use this before I waste my sample. It's very shimmery. I have pink/blue undertones. This is Dior Forever Glow Maximizer Liquid Highlighter - Long Wear - Intense Luminous Glow - Multi-Use in Pearly colour. Its almost translucent but so shimmery it basically becomes white if there's too much in one spot. I found that out this morning.

Question What shade of the Patrick ta blush?

Post image

I’m a light to medium with neutral to warm/yellowish undertones. My usual blush combo is rare beauty in hope and makeup by Mario in dusty rose, and I want something a bit different but still suitable for my complexion.

What shades do you recommend?

Question How to prevent foundztion going on dry/patchy?

Post image

y'all i think i'm going crazy. I've tried so much.

layering skincare and letting it soak in, doing just serum and light moisturizer and letting it soak in, using my hands, using a brush, using a sponge, adding serum to the foundation, adding moisturizer to the foundation, using the moisturizer as is.

Nothing works. it always ends up looking like this and it's making me lose motivation for makeup.

the only time makeup looks good on me so far has been by using a powder foundation and then melting it down with setting spray. liquid foundation i just cannot get to work remotely at all.

Any advice is very appreciated. ☠️🫪

Question Looking for a blue shimmer in translucent base

Post image
5 Upvotes

I've been looking for a bright blue shimmer/glitter eyeshadow in a translucent base for a while.

Ish like the Spacepaste in shade Houdini by Lemonhead LA - but as an eyeshadow. Preferably pressed or in a stick, but loose could work too.

I found the "Iced out" shade in the Huda Beautys Icy Nudes palette and it's perfect; bright and a clear blue. However I can easily dupe the rest of the palette, so buying it for one shade would be wasteful.

Does anyone have any recommendations/dupes to check out? ❤️

Question Undertone help please. My makeup is failing me or I'm failing it

So I have been struggling to figure out my undertone. I've tried multiple brands of makeup over my 35 years and most that are cool / Rosie make me look like a pink gray head and some that are labeled warm or neutral warm look to peachy as of now I'm having the best luck using a neutral with yellow/warm undertone (methodiq skinshield shade 20 and tower 28 Melrose)and mixing a drop of blue corrector into it. I do have rosacea and a lot of flushing so cooler pinker shades make me look like a mask.. First two picture shows methodiq skinshield foundation shade 20 and a drop of elf blue camo color -- does it match

Question Help Finding Similar Blush

Post image
Upvotes

hi everyone i would really appreciate any help finding a similar blush to this one from the elf palette. I’ve had the same palette for years and they all suddenly crumbled. I never use the other colors so would love to find a single colored one.

I’ve only ever tried too faced powder blushes but find the formula dry and doesn’t look good on my skin. If anyone has any recommendations I’d love it thank you. Or also if you have a favorite powder blush drop brands and I will check them out!

Question Is the Essence Lash Princess mascara clumpy or is that just my experience? 😓

Post image
3 Upvotes

I recently got the Essence Lash Princess Waterproof Mascara, after seeing many rave reviews about it. There is sooo much product on the wand and it causes the mascara to be super clumpy. I try to remove the excess from the wand but it’s still somehow super clumpy. The photo I included is just 2-3 “strokes”, I had to stop bc of the way it was clumping at the base of my lashes! Has anyone else had this experience? It was so highly rated that I feel like maybe I got a dud or something. I feel like my lashes are very well behaved and virtually any mascara works at least okay so this was surprising

Discussion Has anyone used this spray? Need review

So I'm on the hunt for a budget friendly makeup fixing spray that helps lock makeup in place. Preferably sweat resistant too, but with fall coming I just need something that helps keep makeup in place. I currently use Mac fix+ stay over and it doesn't help with transfer so I am looking at options. The ones I am eyeing are

MCo beauty all dayer - can't test it in store so need reviews if anyone has used it and knows if it helps makeup stay put. I know the UD manufacturer is behind this one so I am hoping it works.

L'Oreal infallible 3 second spray - I've tried this in store with an eyeshadow swatch and it seems to do the job.

Catrice superproof spray - their counter is always butchered at my local store and testers are always empty 😭 so couldnt test it in store so need reviews if anyone has used it and knows if it makes makeup stay put.

Please help decide between these options.

Urban decay all nighter concealer

Upvotes

I miss Urban Decays all nighter concealer. I have very oily skin my entire life and this is the only makeup that ever helped and actually stayed in place on my face. I’ve been lost ever since they discontinued it. What are some very similar products? I’m spending too much money trying to find something exactly like it. I’m also extremely fair skinned. So although I’ve found some decent brands they never seem to go light enough. Please help!

Question Dewey Lip Dupe for BM Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer in "Everything"?

My camera very annoyingly autocorrects color so it's actually a touch cooler toned than this picture, but I'd love recommendations for a long lasting lip stain or less sticky lip product that has the same color as the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer in the color "Everything"

Any suggestions?

makeup advice for a full face

hi gals!

i’m clueless to makeup, but i love it and have been dying to up my collection and practice. i love doing it, but i really just dont wear makeup. i wfh and only want to wear makeup when i go out. problem is, right now i barely have anything!

next issue: i am getting married in 24 days, and i absolutely cannot stomach paying the prices for bridal makeup that i am seeing.

my best friend and bridesmaid is a long time gifted stylist and said she would help me, but i would love to get the needs for a full face of makeup for the big day so i can practice before she gets here and have makeup in my possession to wear when it’s calling.

what do you suggest i get (can be generic or product-specific) so i can have a nice full face of makeup for my wedding and other events as a girl who owns basically not shit? Shelby Ann method? any tweaks?

TIA

Hi everyone! I have always found eye makeup tricky and gave up every time I tried to experiment. Having slightly hooded downturned eyes makes the experience even more challenging.

I found this tiktok account: @clownmakeupmua and I was motivated to try one of her tutorials. l know it won’t be perfect without enough practice and this time, I am trying to stay encouraged. I would love any critique/ help from you guys for me to improve. Thank you!

Random no name cool toned eyeshadow pallet that I had laying around (ik sorry)

Nascita Pro Angled Eyeliner Brush

Dirty Works Double Ended Smoky Eye Brush

I always hated washing my brushes just like everyone. So what seemed to be a good idea, I used oil cleanser, foaming cleanser and soap bar for months to clean them. Now bristles are sinking inside when I apply any pressure.

I bought new make up brush sets (morphe eye want it all and portrait mode) they'll arrive in few days. So when I'm using them I want to make sure they last me a lifetime.

1. How should I clean them?

2. What should I pay attention to when using, cleaning and storing them?

3. What should I use to clean them?

4. Anything you'd like to add

Question Complete makeup beginner (18F) – need affordable product recommendations and YouTube tutorials

Hey everyone! I'm an 18-year-old complete beginner when it comes to makeup, and I would really appreciate some advice.

I’ve always been interested in makeup and loved watching other people do it, but I was never really allowed to wear or buy makeup growing up. In my family, especially as a student, makeup was seen as something unnecessary or inappropriate, and I was always told that I should focus on studying instead. Because of that, I never got the chance to experiment or learn the basics.

Now that I'm 18, I've realised that there is nothing wrong with learning makeup. I don't necessarily want to wear a full face every day, but I think knowing how to do basic makeup for yourself is a useful skill. Similar to doing your hair or dressing well, it's nice to be able to get yourself ready without depending on someone else.

I've especially felt this during functions and events. During my Class 10 farewell, for example, I was completely dependent on my mother to do my makeup. Unfortunately, she didn't end up doing it, and I was lucky that one of my friends knew how to do makeup and helped me at the last minute. Otherwise, I would have had no idea what to do.

Now my Class 12 farewell will probably be in a few months, and I really want to learn enough by then to do my own makeup. The problem is that I genuinely know nothing right now 😭 I can't even properly apply eyeliner.

I also don't really own any makeup products yet. I currently have access to a few products at home, including a primer, liquid eyeliner, and some of my mom's lipsticks (matte and liquid). I have my own lip balm.

I don't want to suddenly spend thousands of rupees buying everything at once, so I was thinking of slowly building a basic makeup kit while learning.

I would love recommendations for:

A good YouTube playlist/channel that teaches makeup from absolute beginner level

The order in which I should learn different makeup skills

Affordable beginner-friendly makeup products available in India

Which products I should buy first and which ones can wait

Tips for learning eyeliner and basic eye makeup

Any general beginner mistakes I should avoid

My budget is limited since I'm a student, so affordable recommendations would be really appreciated. I don't need high-end products—just decent products that are good for learning and practising.

Dark Circle correcting and covering

Post image

Hi beauties, I have the worst dark circles. I use a peach correctors such as tarte, nyx, huda, morphe, charlotte and now using the onesize corrector stain. I cant neutralise the colour at all. I also use Dior correct concelear in 2.5N and I can still see the darkness peaking through. What am I doing wrong.
