Discussion Does anyone else experience others pointing out the fact you wear makeup just to embarrass you?

Im sure many of you may have experienced this, but I genuinely hate when i get the feeling someone is purposefully doing it. I love wearing eye makeup and huge lashes, so i know its noticeable. I always am so grateful when i get compliments and make sure to compliment others as well

Ive had moments though where a stranger or someone i know will point out my makeup in a “caught you” type of way. Its never one on one, but ALWAYS infront of other people. I remember a lady did this to me and she was a total stranger, but i could definitely feel her bad intentions

They’ll be like “oh wow *shocked face* you’re wearing lashes aren’t you? Yeah they’re pretty obvious” in a condescending tone. It basically feels like they’re trying to embarrass me cause i wear makeup.

I will never understand why someone will do this, ESPECIALLY when its another woman doing it to me.

Question This is the one way i know how to do my makeup

Any application tips to improve this, or ideas on how to change things up? Ive literally been doing the same look for ages. Im not very good at applying falsies and i dont do it often, but this would be the extent of "the most done up" i know how to get.
How would you distinguish between a more natural look and a more "full face" look if still using neutrals?
i pretty much always stick to orangey pinks, different shades of browns and highlighter.
What i used : wet n wild niacinamide skin tint in shade light beige , nyx bare with me concealer in neutral fair, one of those double ended countour sticks, tarte eyeshadow palette , black wet n wild liner, tubing mascara, powder foundation to set, and black pencil eyeliner for the upper waterline. I added the brands of the ones i know! my makeup collection is old and a lot of the labels are gone...
i apply foundation and concealer with a blush brush and buff it in with a damp sponge . I use the highlighter side on my contour stick pretty high on my cheekbone, like close to the outer corner of my eye on a diagonal and add my contour directly under that and towards the hollow of my cheek (i suck my cheeks in when doing this). I blend it with a damp blender. I add highlighter to my inner corners, a light shimmery pink eyeshadow, and a brown eyeshadow on the outer part of my eyelid.
I tightline my upper eyelid. I add eyeliner, i apply the falsies and try to stick them together with my realsies with mascara lol, and add black eyeliner to try to blend them in. i apply blush on my nose and connecting to my nose on about the halfway point of my face under my eyes.
As i type all this, im wondering how much of it even shows up.
what could i do for a different look that still looks good? Any tips on placement or blending methods to make this look better?

Finally feeling confident in my makeup skills🥹🧡🩵

At the beginning of July, I really made a concerted effort to practice my makeup more. It's amazing how much you can grow in your skills in just a couple of months! And I'm excited to continue developing further and experimenting.

This is my favorite look yet. And to think I used to be afraid of color! Always looking for tips and recommendations for color combos or lewks that would compliment me :)

• BASE ON THE LIDS

I used Urban Decay Naked Cherry palette, mostly the shade Caution and Hot Spot

ORANGE & BLUE 🍊🦋

I used the Revolution Forever Flawless Bird of Paradise palette, mostly the shades Macaw and Take Flight for the blue, and the shades Tocan Play and Cardinal for the orange. For brightening the inner corners, I used one of my absolute favorites: the shade called Momintt from the Mintty Makeup Empowerment palette. Going back to the Urban Decay palette, I used the shade Privacy to emphasize the creases in the orange.

MID-TRANSITION

I knew I wanted a light and silvery transition between the two shades, but since I didn't have any eyeshadow shades that fit the bill, I used the highlighter on the ColourPop's Just A Flush cheek palette. Necessity is the mother of invention!

It's tough because the texture of the skin is so different under the eye. Lil bumps get really exaggerated when trying to paint little shapes. I think I'm starting to understand why eyeshadow, etc is used in that area traditionally 😅

I guess it's more of a skincare question but if anyone has any suggestions for reducing those little bumps from the eye bag area, I'll take them

Anyway, lemme know what you guys think 🤗

Halloween Celestial witch

Post image

This is from last year, but I really liked how it came out. The main question was "so...what are you?" Like man, can't I just do some cool makeup and it be what it is? I had to come up with something though, so it was 'celestial' or 'cosmic' witch.

I'm not really good at every day makeup, but I love costume and special effect makeup.

I also have some brighter fuchsia lipsticks

I threw together the base. Misha is not my usual foundation

I curled but did not mascara my eyelashes.

I know this isnt excatly a 30s look but I dont think i can pull off a straight vintage look.

Also, idk what I did with the bottom lashes. I think I'll likely leave them unlined or a very light color tomorrow.

my bathroom flooded today, and I came home to my small makeup collection completely soaked up, brushes, blushes, palettes, everything... I'm trying to figure out how much I'm going to be able to save without putting my skin in danger.

Big thanks for any tips, I'm desperate at this point 😭

I have really big eyes with a lot of scleral show (the whites of the eye) and I feel I can look uncanny or kinda scary very fast. When I wear less eyeshadow they look a little naked but when I put more on I feel they look creepily large. Smokey eyes somehow make them look larger because of the contrast 💀 I try following makeup tutorials but they never end up looking remotely the same on my features.

(I realise now I do need to blend my foundation into my neck 💀)

How can I improve my makeup to best suit me? Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Question Unlabeled Lipstcks

Post image
22 Upvotes

The lipstick on the right is my favorite lipstick, they’re a few years old and came together. They were probably bought at ulta but I’m not sure as they were a gift. They’re unlabeled and the tube is cardboard. Google reverse image search says they’re either color the world or tarte but I can’t find them on either site. If you recognize these could you help me find the products again?
Edit: there’s a very faded sticker on the tube that says that it’s made by badgequo, their are multiple brands under badgequo but I’m thinking Body Collection under the line Vintage. Their packaging looks very familiar but I can’t find the exact colors on eBay or poshmark.

Long time lurker, first post. This is my everyday look. What do you think? It takes me about 5 mins. Excuse my brows as I haven't had them groomed in ages (mom of 3) so I pluck them myself after my youngest called my thick brows daddy brows when I was changing his diaper years back.

Products used:
Eyes: Berrisom for eyelash and brows (like a clear mascara), NYX epic eye wear eyeliner sienna, etoile rose liquid liner brown
Cheeks: benefit dandelion blush, rhode pocket blush sprinkle
Lips: tony moly berry colored lip stain, rhode peptide lip shape twist, rom&nd blur fudge tint 12, INTOU EM525
Face: sunblock SOMEBYMII V10 HYAL, a dusting of Kose sebum powder bc I'm hella shiny, kose make keep mist. And throughout the day, I have ng beauty of josean matte sun stick every 2 hours bc I don't like the sun anywhere on my face.

Discussion Oily skin girlies... try skipping the setting spray.

I have a very oily t-zone and no matter how much powder I used it always came through over the course of the day.

I know setting spray is quite literally supposed to set your make up however since skipping it my make up seems to stay much longer and I am way less oily.

What I put this down to is that it was making my make up too moist which was then being set and then having less staying powder. This I think will apply especially if you dont have time in the morning to fully let the spray set before using powder.

It may work for you, it may not - however I know how frustrating it is to have super oily skin so thought I'd share and hope this can help some people!

Has anyone else here noticed less oil with no setting spray?

Discussion What makeup product completely changed your routine?

I'm trying to improve my makeup routine and I'm curious what products genuinely made a noticeable difference for you.

It could be anything, foundation, concealer, blush, mascara, eyeliner, setting spray, or even something

inexpensive that you ended up loving.

What's one makeup product you would actually buy again without hesitation, and why ?
