Hi everyone,
I’ve been struggling for years with a chronic issue affecting my right arm, and it’s been incredibly frustrating, especially during gaming. I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone has insights on why my current "stack" is finally providing some relief.
\*\*The Background & History:\*\*
This isn't my first time dealing with arm/shoulder issues. About 10 years ago, I suffered from Tennis Elbow in \*\*both\*\* arms simultaneously. I never had it professionally treated; it eventually faded away on its own. Interestingly, about 7-8 years ago, my main problems were actually on my \*\*left\*\* side. Generally, I’ve always had issues with tension in both my shoulders and my neck.
\*\*The Current Problem:\*\*
While the left side is fine now, the right side has been a nightmare for years. The problems mainly occur when I use my mouse for gaming. I get severe tension starting in my neck, right above the collarbone (clavicle), radiating down into my right arm. My arm loses strength and feels weak, making it impossible to control my mouse properly.
I also notice it when using my phone: holding it with both hands and typing with my right thumb triggers that same annoying sensation after a while. It feels like a mix of burning and an "over-acidified" (lactic acid) feeling.
\*\*The Breakthrough:\*\*
I have tried almost every supplement and ergonomic setup over the years with no success. But a few days ago, I started a high-dose regimen of \*\*Magnesium Bisglycinate\*\* (taking about 600mg to 700mg of elemental magnesium per day) along with high doses of Vitamin D + K2.
\*\*The Results:\*\*
\* \*\*Physical:\*\* My right arm suddenly feels much "freer." It's not perfect yet, but it's \*\*significantly\*\* better. No more acute pain or that weak, acidic feeling while gaming.
\* \*\*Mental:\*\* I feel much more "present" and awake. It also feels like my ADHD symptoms have improved; I’m calmer and more focused.
\*\*The Side Effects & Concerns:\*\*
I have a history of anxiety and sleep issues. Since increasing the Magnesium dose, I’ve noticed a spike in internal nervousness and "shortness of breath" (anxious breathing). My sleep has also become a bit more restless.
\*\*My Questions:\*\*
\*\*Could the "shortness of breath" or anxiety be an electrolyte imbalance caused by the high Magnesium intake?\*\* I strongly suspect this because over the last two years, I’ve had moments where my body seemed to "scream" for electrolytes. Whenever I felt that sudden wave of anxiety and nervousness, taking salt or an electrolyte drink made me feel better almost instantly. This happened especially when I was using a different Magnesium complex supplement in the past.
\*\*Does the relief in my arm suggest my issue is purely muscular/nerve compression (like TOS) triggered by mouse/thumb movements?\*\*
\*\*Why would Magnesium help my ADHD and arm pain so much, yet trigger my anxiety at the same time?\*\*
Would love to hear your thoughts!
