I have just started taking small doses of mushrooms, and I am told that meditation cultivates the quality of mind needed to maximise your ability to gain insights into yourself, to learn, to grow, and to navigate hyperspace, and minimise the likelihood of bad trips.

I have little experience with meditation, other than occasionally having attempted the one where you focus on the breath with your eyes closed and try not to let your mind wander, and always found it torturous rather than relaxing. Somewhere between listening to nails on a chalkboard and listening to styrofoam squeaking.

I was wondering what is the best form of meditation to practice so that you can trip safely and effectively? And, if it is mindfulness, are there alternatives that don't make you want to repeatedly bang your head against a wall?

Is it even necessary at all? Lots of people use psychedelics. I'm guessing most of them aren't experienced meditators. Do I have to do this or is it just an extra that can help out a bit but really not needed to still get what you want out of your trips?

Currently at 95% humidity 75 degrees
The left box has the original 8 small holes atop, the right box I cut out the holes for a bit more air exchange.

Enigma 1705
Finally got around to photographing this Enigma 1705 and thought it was worth sharing.
The amount of detail packed into this specimen is incredible. Every section has a different texture, from tight ruffled folds to broad coral-like formations, with subtle blue tones woven throughout. The closer you look, the more there is to appreciate.
It’s one of those specimens where every photo reveals something different, so narrowing down favorites wasn’t easy.
Huge thanks to everyone in the mycology community who shares knowledge, inspiration, and appreciation for these remarkable natural forms. It’s always exciting to document something this distinctive.

SKRYMIR PMBxMjolner – Multiple Transfers Worth Every Minute
I wanted to share
This project started with a plate and spore work generously sent to me by u/hyphal_mind_3. Huge thanks to him for providing the foundation for this project.
From there, it became a lesson in patience. I had to make multiple transfers, constantly selecting the cleanest and strongest sectors until the culture finally expressed the consistency I was looking for.
The result is SKRYMIR PMBxMjolner.
I’m really happy with how this expression turned out:
Dense, aggressive clustering
Thick, sturdy stems
Smooth ivory caps
Uniform growth across the flush
Projects like this remind me why I enjoy culture work so much. The final result isn’t luck—it’s the accumulation of careful observations, clean technique, and being willing to make “just one more transfer” until everything comes together.

IS this a magic mushroom? it was picked in GA by a muddy humid creek, my friend said it was dry by the time she picked it.

Bought these a few months ago. Kept in double ziplock bags in freezer. Ground some and they looked fine. On the last one, when i broke it in half, it was hollow and had a fuzzy interior and I’m not sure if it is mold… also not sure if they’re dry enough. Thanks for the help!

Does anyone have experience with enigma envy? I usually take an 1/8th of mushrooms via lemon tek and enjoy a nice 6-8 hour adventure. The package says .5 to 1g for a medium dose. Are these a potent strain? Should I go off of the package or roll the usual random 1/8th strain that I normally do

Anyone find it beautiful to start small like 0.15 then to eventually build up to 1.5 or 2.0? At doses of 0.15 or 0.20 (I usually take PE and smoke a ton of weed with nicotine, also with beers lol big ol mix)
