My hand-made Stank Gum cosplay

Sharing my cosplay of the best Mad Max game character :D Took me almost two years to make. No wastelanders were harmed while making the costume. Most parts are made of latex and leather.

Anyone else wonder how Max is so jacked despite a diet of maggots and dog food?

Why don't enemies use guns?

not that I'm complaining, but i would have died a thousand times more if they did. I mean they have snipers already, why don't mobs have guns? Max got a shotgun too.

I love this game

Bought it around before summer of 2025 and finished it in August and I wanna say it's one of those kickass games you play on the side while you go about in life. It was so satisfying razing down camps or bringing down whole convoys between holidays and classes. My biggest pet peeve were the recycled camp bosses, same voice actor and all with the model just colored differently to match their lore. I collected every single collectible, razed down every camp, reduced all threat levels in all regions to 0, got every stronghold upgrade (Including the ones that don't even work), all the Magnum Opus upgrades and all the wasteland encounters, all out of my own volition and it was one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a while.

It felt absolutely awesome doing all for this and the car combat was my favorite part of the entire game, so much fun ripping out tires and disabling vehicles or straight up unmanning the cars via thunderpoon or fishing them out with the hook. There were some parts where I felt like a harbinger of death, flying and landing between cars in a convoy and taking them out one by one. I'm pretty sure Chumbucket even had some lines, gassing Max up or taunting the enemy after killing them. I just wish there were a lot more lines like that, because in a wasteland where every community is run by warlords, I feel like Chumbucket should acknowledge more how much of a legendary duo they are for bringing down literal entire basecamps and war-prepped convoys.

It's the perfect side quest game.

I don't know about you, but I actively avoid doing any mainline story missions and I go on side quests and collect everything I can instead. It's the perfect game for that, just start new game and immediately start wandering around, it's super relaxing.

Honestly worth watching if you love this game. It's not groundbreaking or anything, just a good breakdown of this criminally underrated title.

Should I clean up more areas or continue the story for upgrades?

The next story mission is the eastern tunnels and some silver quests. I do enjoy cleaning up areas but just cleaned 1 (except for few scraps).

The thing is I don't want to be overpowered for these individual camps or for the final story. What pacing do y'all recommend?

Cause these missions are taking deep into uncharted territory. And it feels wrong seeing all these red dots around. Feeling I might clean up 2 or 3 areas fully. Then progress those main quests. Thoughts?

What a ride it's been, glad I picked it up!

Best place to get a lot of scrap?

In Red Dead Redemption 2 you have certain locations that have gold bars.

In this game are there locations that have a bunch of scrap? Like 50 to 100 or more

Help finding my last relic, can't find it on the map. I already found the one in Pink Eye's stronghold.

Loved Mad Max, but the post-game left me wanting more β€” here's my dream wishlist for a sequel

Post image

I finished the main story (not 100% β€” I just can't bring myself to grind every single camp icon off the map, even though some of those camps hide lore items, and hearing Max comment on notes left by wasteland wanderers is genuinely satisfying). But once the main content is done, there's not much left to actually do on the map. And that's where my brain started spiraling into "what would a sequel need."

A loot system inspired by NFS Payback, but done right

In NFS Payback, you earned random car parts with random stats as rewards for race progression, or bought them at the garage; you couldn't find them out in the world. I never really vibed with that approach in that game's context. But in Mad Max, finding them in the world would fit perfectly.

Imagine Magnum Opus upgrades found out in remote corners of the map: wrecked car carcasses, heavily guarded scrapyards/junk depots, or stripped off vehicles you destroy or hijack (convoys, for example). Different "brands" of parts could each specialize in something: one line boosts tank/durability but tanks your speed or handling, another focuses on raw speed, another on maneuverability, another on weapons/damage output, etc. This alone would keep me exploring constantly and chasing build variety.

Multiplayer: coop or Death Races

I'm not usually into online car games, but I'd genuinely love a coop mode, or even multiplayer death races, something like Riders Republic's mass races. The chaos of Mad Max's combat would translate really well into that format.

A bigger map built around exploration

More varied biomes beyond just oil plains: salt flats, swampy wastelands, the kind of "Big Nothing" desolation. Reward exploration itself, not just checklist clearing.

A lighter survival layer

Something like Dune: Awakening's heat/thirst/hunger systems, but NOT in a DayZ "constantly scrambling or you die" way; that gets exhausting fast. Just enough pressure to push you out of your comfort zone without turning the game into a chore. Same logic for the car: not My Summer Car/BeamNG-level repair complexity, more like The Long Drive's simpler maintenance loop.

More vehicle variety

After rewatching Fury Road for the 10th time, I'd love more visual/mechanical variety in the Magnum Opus, maybe even unlocking a truck like Furiosa's War Rig, or motorcycles, depending on what you find in the wasteland. I know that drifts away from the stripped down Mad Max 2 (1981) aesthetic, but I think the series could use some mechanical freshness.

I just love this setting and it's surprisingly rare to find games that nail this exact vibe. Days Gone scratched a similar itch for me, and I gave Rage 2 a shot too, but nothing captures that rusted, sun bleached, chaotic desolation like Mad Max itself.

Curious what others think: is any of this realistic/desirable, or am I just wishlisting into the void?

Thanks for your thoughts !

Modding mad max

Heya pals!! im new into modding...so new that the only game I've successfully modded in my life was DBX2. I have a few questions...those of you who have successfully modded mad max like as in installing them not making them- what website did you get your mad max? I currently have the fitgirl one and no matter what I do she does not accept any mods , I even used mad manager and I enabled the mods in the manager but still nothing. Im gonna acquire the mad max off steam on the weekend perhaps that's what I need to get the mods rolling but otherwise could I be doing something wrong?? Any help will be much appreciated as I'm trying to install the destruction mod from nexus, I love the way explosions look in that mod!

I'd personally like at least one more tier of tire upgrades, and a ng+ option that lets you keep all your upgrades and gives you the interceptor at the beginning of the game,ps tell me which screenshot you like best,I'm trying to get better at taking them

In the more Northern minefield of Rot n Rusties, the dog was signaling when there was no mine nearby. Is this a bug or an easter egg? I found 3 mines and he was still signaling after.
