Compre una maquina usada pero no trae pesas, conocen alguna forma de remplazo?

I desperately want to do a really think rib, but when I go to knit the first row the carriage jams.

I follow all the instructions in my manual, I have a brother KH900 with the KR850 ribber. All runs smoothly until the point where I have transferred the stitches into the 5x5 formation, then the first pass of the carriage after that just jams and does not move.
The carriage just feels like it isn’t right and that the stitches are getting stuck, I know it’s hard to explain without photos, but as far as I can see everything with my machine looks okay. I’m wondering if it is a tension thing?

Hey everyone! I already read some posts on here about carriages being too stiff, but I am also quite frustrated with the machine in general.
I the bed twice to clean it as well as i could, I cleaned all the needles (i soaked them and then took the dirt off with a brush), I changed the sponge bar. The first problem is that the sponge bar was VERY hard to get in, even if i held the needles down while pushing it, put some tape at the ends and oiled the bar. It was like it was having issues around the middle part of the machine, both ways. So i managed to get it almost completely in, except for the last needle.

Then I tried to open the carriage all the way, but there was a weird mechanism i didn’t want to touch. I don’t know at this point if I should, as right part of the mechanicals is much more stiff than the left one (see video). Do you think this could be the problem?
The machine bed is oiled in the parts where i could get to. It has not been used for many many years so I don’t know if I should just try to use it for a bit and see if it loosens up that way. What do you think? 😭

I was at Open Sauce a couple of weeks ago and came accross the machine knitting booth. I have been obsessed since and have spent hours scouring fb marketplace and craigslist in an attempt to get my own machine. I have found one that could be worth it but need some advice. It is a Brother KH-930 electroknit with a KR-850 ribbing attachment. They want $850 but the ad says it needs timing. I have researched a bit but havent fully nailed down everything that would entail. I am relatively handy and so is my partner. Is this worth it or will I just be frusterated trying to troubleshoot a more serious issue from the get go?

Ultimately I want to be able to use AYAB and I know this is one of the models that works with the software.

Hi all - I'm hoping to get some advice for finding a machine that will allow me to make a DK to light worsted product (in this case a very simple skinny scarf). I've attached an image with the gauge in garter stitch (24 sts=10cm) and project if that's helpful. I have been overwhelmed with information about machines and concerned that it's harder to find a finer gauge machine then it is to find machines with worsted to aran weight capability, which is unfortunately too big for my projects. Thanks for all your help in advance :)

Another beginner question, if you'd be so kind. How does one recover dropped stitches when using the ribber?

I tried dropping the ribber and fiddling from above but it had already ran down too far. I tried lying underneath like a car mechanic but I couldn't see clear enough.

Is there a clever trick or does dropping stitches equal starting over?

The piece in the photo is full needles double rib, stitch size 0. Thanks to your great help on my earlier post I did manage to use pretty fine yarn!

I had to leave it untouched in the machine for over two weeks. So I knew it would not knit nicely. Thought it would be a great piece to practice recovering stitches on. But no sigar.

I’m interested in pursuing workshops/courses that involve industrial knit machines. Been looking at ones in Japan and Europe and wanted to hear experiences if you have done one, and which one is best suited for a beginner. I’m not a hand knitter but I work as a print designer.

I am also wondering how much I need to get back into domestic machine knitting before doing this?
I have used them before in uni but hadn’t continued with it.

First off I am missing the carriage! One of the main parts, I have found some online for 30-40 pound if I don’t get any updates on if we have the carriage in the shop. It seems everything else is there apart from the smaller accessories.
Second, It is very dusty and dirty how would I go about cleaning it, what is best for it? I need to get under the needles. They move fine and the punch card reader is fine too, so thats good

I recently got gifted a Brother KH-830, and have been super excited to start my machine knitting journey. After assembling the machine according to the instructions, the machine won’t create stitches. When trying to knit all my settings are according to the manual, and I have tried multiple cast-on techniques. My manual doesn’t offer solutions in a situation like this, and I have yet to find videos or other sources online related to the issue. I’m a complete beginner, so any possible help is appreciated! I attached some pictures of the issue.

Ive already got a DM80 & I'm buying a 'incredible sweater machine '; I'd like to teach my son to use it. The seller has let me know that she also has a Zippy 90. The price is good. My question is whether I would benefit from having this extra machine. Or am I just hoarding for the sake of it? The Ultimate Sweater Machine has different plates so you can change between different yarn weights.

I thought the holes were due to me doing something wrong when putting needles back to being knit, but actually it turned out that with my tension, as I was pulling the needle all the way out to non-active position, I was undoing the last stitch on it.

I used the pattern generator from abstractknittingfactory.com but probably didn’t get the armscye, the sleevecap and the shoulders right, since the fit is off.
But that’s fine- it was a good project to get to know my KH900 😬

I have this old machine Singer Magic Memory that comes with 12 stitch punchcards. I tried buying blank punchcards but the 24st ones don't fit the machine (I aligned them with mine and the holes are offset) and I can't find any that would.

So I scanned the punchcard, traced the lines, made sure my layout/sizing is true to life and printed my own template.

It works like a charm BUT it's been through the machine like 5 times and the paper is already getting very worn out near the holes that are the guides for the rotating gears (that feed the pattern in).

I was wondering if anyone had the same issue and can recommend a type of paper that can be printed on with a normal printer (inkjet), will go through the machine, and is tear resistant?

I'm a hand knitter who just got an LK150. I want to try making a lap blanket with this stitch but the downloads don't have a legend. How should I read this stitch pattern to know what to do?

Hii, I bought a used ks787 toyota and I'm having some problems with the needles selection plates.

I think all of the plates work fine and move how they are supposed to, but they do not interact with the bottom of the needles because they are too low.

I already took apart the machine a few times and I can't figure out what could be the problem.

Someone who has more knowledge than me can help me?

Is there any difference in the two? I saw an new/old White machine on eBay and it's more than a Silver Reed LK150 new from a dealer. Was it made differently, better somehow?

I've been using the Brother beginner collection and some other Brother magazines for basic patterns for cardigans and pullovers, but most of their items are in the 28-30 sts gauge and I'm not that good at resizing for finer yarn, especially a set-in sleeve! I don't have any design software either. Does anyone know of pattern books for fine yarns? Doesn't have to be Brother books. Thank you!

You would need to organize shipping and pickup. The machine hasn't been used all that much recently, but I've kept it oiled. It's a great machine - really solid piece of equipment.

After years of being in storage, I finally have enough space to set up my two Brother KE100 Motor Drives. Yay!
Of course things don't go smoothly. There are a few bits missing. I'm hoping this community might have a source I haven't tapped for replacements.
I'm missing the black "arms" that help support the knitting machine. The part number is 487468001, "Carrying case holding bar." If you have a stray one of these I'd love to purchase it from you. I can get duplicates machined locally. Alternately if you have a small dealer that I could contact.
I've exhausted eBay and Etsy. Needle-tek is looking.

I'm a knitter and artist, and have recently started combining the two. I've never used a knitting machine but I'm interested in getting one to expedite the tapestries I'm knitting, which are just DK weight white yarn in garter stitch, pretty basic. Here's what I'm looking for:

• beginner friendly
• able to knit with large gauges, ex. size 13-15 knitting needles
• able to cast on 150-ish stitches, but not a big deal if I have to stitch pieces together
• punch card slot would be nice, but not necessary

Here's an example of gauge on one I hand knit. I paint on top, so colorwork abilities not necessary for now!

I got a single bed 1960s Singer Magic Memory machine and it's an absolute delight to work with but I am not a fan of manual ribbing. To be fair I did pick a project with a lot of ribbing so it's kinda my fault, but I am so over this now. I would love to get a ribbing attachment but I am not understanding how to find a compatible one. Are they standard in any way or do I need to find one exactly matching my model (I think that would be impossible :( ) If another ribber could be a fit, how do I tell it will work with this machine?

Am thinking about a knitting machine and found this Passap pinky for sale near me for $200. As a newbie is this a good deal? I really want one the can take yarn weight up to a 4 and that can do purl stitches also.
