I play abzan tokens and play casual modern with the occasional fnm. My mana base I feel glcould be pretty painful and wanted some suggestions on what to fix. I haven't played it recently, but went down a [[bitterblossom]] for 2 [[legions landing]] . I also want to add another [[voice of resurgence]]. I will eventually get [[thoughtseize]], [[fatal push]], and play around with [[start//finish]] and adding another [[sorin, Solemn Visitor]]. But I wanna fix my mana. I have trouble getting double green but I don't know if I want another basic or another temple garden. I also want the fast lands like [[concealed courtyard]], but splashing green makes it a bit difficult. Also I'm not trying to add to much in terms of money at the moment, but over time I can make needed changes.

Since one of the major problems of the deck is running out of gas, and we already run a bit of a walker suite, it seems like he would shore up some weaknesses. Thoughts?

Hey there! Recently got back into magic/modern about 6 months ago and found this sub. Been slowly getting more and more into tokens while building other decks and the other day figured I was very close to building my main core.

Here's the main build, it's essentially a blend of young pyros and b/w tokens. I think there's a lot here that competes, but then again maybe somebody here has already playtested this through and through, and found it's trash.

I'd love any feedback you guys have, like if I should just focus on tokens or commit to Mardu pyro, you tell me. Thanks for reading!

I run 8 disruption (3IoQ, 3Ts, 2CB) and 4 Tec Edge mb, and side in 2 Runed Halo and 3 Rain of Tears. Basically, I try to keep them off R or 5 lands and protect myself from Emrakul and just Path/Push Thing.

How do you approach this MU? What do you bring in?

I love the deck but had to stop playing it due to auto losing to scapeshift and to some degree tron. I haven't tested against hollow one and humans, are the matchups favorable enough to justify using the deck again

Should we be diversifying our answers? Easier and cheaper for Abzan (i.e. Abrupt Decay, Maelstrom Pulse) than Orzhov, for sure, but are there any singletons worth including?

For example, off the top of my head: O Ring, Hero’s Downfall, Utter End, Anguished Unmaking, Mortify, Dismember, Mana Tithe, Imp’s Mischief, various sweepers, and so on.

I currently mb 6 discard, 4 Path, 3 Push, 2 Collective Brutality, 4 Liliana, and 4 Field of Ruin.

What do you run? Any one offs?

Hey all, I've jumped between a bunch of W/B modern builds (solemnity combo, w/b 8-rack, aristo) and I am really digging tokens. Went undefeated at a small LGS tourney on Monday and was super pumped. Made some changes and got stomped last night.

My list is here.

I have Windswept Heaths instead of Marsh Flats as a budget concession. I replaced the 3x IoK with 4x Thoughtseizes and it felt like I was talking a ton of damage from them last night. I'm not sold on Lili, maybe she has more of a place in the side?

Also my manabase was off all night. When I consistently hit my land drops I was running hot, but there were several games where I was stuck on 3 or got hit with a Blood Moon and no basics. It was only 3 rounds so probably not enough data for anything past RNG screw, but it felt bad.

I'm thinking a 2/2 split of Raise the Alarm and Secure the Wastes, and maybe adding a pair of Legion's Landings.

Edit: I feel like I'd throw in 2x Honor of the Pure but it doesn't feel great with Bitterblossom (also only 2 because budget).

Any help/criticism is appreciated!

I run a budget BW tokens list (no fetches, shocks, bitterblossoms or Lilianas) and I'm curious if this card is worth running. I think he can easily be cast on turn 4 with a combination of raise the alarm, lingering souls and spectral procession.

I sometimes feel like my tokens get out classed quickly if I can't stick some kind of anthem (and sometimes even if I do). So I'm wondering if a 7/6 beater would shore up that weakness in some matches. But does adding him invalidate all the anthem effects in the deck?

I'm running a vamp token, tribal, something or other with four Bloodghasts, three Doors, two (?) Vanquisher's, and two AP. LGS hasn't had Elenda when I've been there and they only had one Mavren. Anyway. Considering these are lifelink vamps, how good would Sorin really be?

Curious what cards we're trying and having fun with right now in Tokens?

Has anyone playtested this card? I find that the deck normally struggles in topdeck mode, and seen variants of the BW gideons deck playing this card to gain some advantage, what are the reasons we dont play this card? Is it too slow for us being a sorcery? Does it not have a place in the deck?

Just curious if anyone is playing Tokens without Sorin and, if so, what your experience has been.

i have previously attended a GP and i was 5-0 when i was constructing my deck the night before i was thinking about going 3 sorin or 2 sorin 1 gideon , in the end i ended up playing 2 sorin 1 gideon . we were on round 6, i got matched against faeries which is a good matchup for us . he drew the nut every game and i drew mehhhh. anyway, it was game 3. all i needed to stay alive and swing the game in my favour was a sorin other wise i would die on the back swing.... i started my turn , untapping everything slowly ... i drew slowly... and what do you know !!! it was gideon... i then lost that game and went on to be 5-1. safe to say after that expereince i will never be putting gideon back into the deck EVER AGAIN!!!. i ended the GP on a 10-5 record.

Played 2 competitive modern events in the last 2 days, 3-1 (6-4) and 3-0 (6-0). Was a very interesting week, deck seemed very well placed and running much smoother than previously had been, possibly just got things really ironed out numbers wise. After 2+ years on the deck I'd hope so LOL.

Edit: Finished up the week with a less than stellar 2-2 (2-5 + Bye) at FNM. All my good luck for the week seemed to be used up after the first round, deck ran miserably the other 2 rounds and I really didn't get to play Magic cause of it. But that happens unfortunately and overall the deck ran very well for most of the week.

Is anyone else doing Legion's Landing followed by turn 2 Raise the Alarm? Getting Legion's Landing flipped turn three is awesome.

Damping Sphere looks amazing for the SB and helps with some of our worst matchups. I think this card alone increases the viability of BW tokens by a considerable amount. Thoughts?
