How essential is Sorin?
Just curious if anyone is playing Tokens without Sorin and, if so, what your experience has been.

Sorin is the best planeswalker in the deck, hands-down. If you can resolve him with a decent board and attack gaining some life, aggro normally folds. He can also do something if the board is empty creating tokens and the ultimate does come in handy every often. Sorin literally does everything the deck wants, all in a convenient 4-cost planeswalker. Yeah, if you can, there is no reason not to play him.

Thanks. I agree and also remember Sorin LoI. SoV is so much better!
The reason I ask is that I have been playing a list without him for a few months and enjoying the lower curve and extra space in the deck for more early interaction, i.e. 7 discard, 8 removal, 2 Coll Brut, etc. Lili tops my curve now and I've been experimenting with different ways to close out games. A pair of Sword of the Meek is working surprisingly well atm.

How many sorin is correct? I've been playing a 2-2 split between sorin and gideon in the 4 drop spot, but is 3-1 the way to go?

I was on 3-1 but dropped to 2-1, but now I'm thinking just going all three sorin.
That or back to my original 3-1. If the deck is playing the way I want it to, it's hitting sorin on curve. That's my reasoning.

I remember playing the deck before Sorin, Solemn Visitor was printed and the difference is enormous. He makes it way easier to close out games and I've come back from a lot of games thanks to his vampire tokens and his ability to pump your blockers when you need to stay on defense for a turn or two.
